How to Transfer Text Messages From Android to Android (2024)

hey guys today in this video I'm going to be telling you three ways by which you can transfer your text messages from one Android device to another Android device and that too with very much ease so without wasting any time let's start the video's [Music] intro so the first method that I'm going to be telling you is to use the backup by Google one but before that the question comes how to use the backup by Google one well to do that just go to settings on your Android phone then scroll down and go to Google then you just have to tap on the all services Tab and here just select backup and from here you just have to ensure that the backup by Google one option is toggled on now just scroll down and make sure that SMS and MMS messages are also listed here that means the backup of SMS and MSS messages will be there and now you have to tap this backup Now button so that you can back up all of your messages as you can see my last backup was 5 hours ago that means at 11 a.m. so now the backup is done on our old device but how do we restore this backup now on the new device just turn on your new phone and now login using the same Google account that you used in your old phone and once you start the setup process on your new phone just choose the restore option when your phone ask whether you want to restore the data or not and after you have done this and the setup process is also complete you will see all of your messages in the messages app okay that's it for the first method now the second method is to use third party apps and there are plent plenty of SMS backup apps such as SMS backup and restore SMS organizer fir Hawk SMS backup and restore wondershare mobile trans and iMobile Droid kit but for the video purpose we are just going to use SMS backup and restore and the benefit of this method is that you can transfer your messages directly via Wi-Fi which makes the process much faster and reliable so what you have to do first is that you have to launch SMS backup and restore app on both the Android devices now just tap on the hamburger menu on the left left on both the devices and then just tap on transfer and now what you have to do is first you have to specify which one is the source and which one is the Target on The Source phone tap on the send from this phone option and on the target phone just tap on the receive on this phone option and as you can see I can see the option of my other phone here hardx Z flip 5 now I'll just tap on it and here I'll accept the invitation and here as you can see on my other phone it's asking whether to accept transfer and restore or not and just tap on accept and restore and as you can see here it is shown that it is preparing the transfer from my pixel device and on this phone it's asking what would you like to transfer and as you can see I've selected the transfer messages and call logs from the current state of this phone and now I just have to hit transfer just few seconds the transfer is completed which was pretty fast and on my other phone I just have to hit okay so as you can see it's now asking me to set SMS back up and restore as my default SMS app so that I can see all the newly transferred messages on this Android phone so I'm just going to do that and now I'll just tap on set as default so now it's restoring all my call Locks and messages and as you can see the transfer is completed and I have received 32 call Locks and one5 messages on this device now I just have to tap on okay and now as you can see on this device I have got all of the messages that I had in this pixel device so that was our second method by using third party apps and it was a very simple method so now our third method is to use Bluetooth on both of the devices so that we can access messages from one Android to another Android now the benefit of this method is that you don't have to install any third party apps and neither you have to create any sort of backup but the downside of this method is that this Bluetooth feature is getting Obsolete and it might not be supported on all Android devices and of course sending messages via Bluetooth often takes time that's why our second method is very fast and reliable because it uses Wi-Fi but nevertheless here are the steps for Android SMS transfer via Bluetooth so first you have to turn Bluetooth on both the devices and pair them and now you just have to pair both the devices now just confirm the passcode and pair both the phones and once that's done just go to the messages app and here you have to select all of the messages that you want to transfer and after you've selected all of the messages just tap on this icon and now tap on the share icon and here you can see all of the sharing options now we have to select the Bluetooth one and as you can see my target phone is shown here now I'll just tap on this available device and now it's sending file to this phone and now I just have to accept on this phone now as you can see these transferred messages will come in an HTML document form and once you open it in the docs or HTML viewer whatever you like you can see the shared messages right on your other device and with the help of this method you can choose whichever specific messages you want to share to another device having said that these were the three most common and easiest method that you can use to transfer messages
