How to test a solar panel quick and easy using a multimeter and the panel's MC4 connectors

we're doing a quick video on how to test your solar panel first of all behind the solar panel there's a card here right there and it has all the stats on what you need the open circuit voltage and the amps okay so this is 21 point 3 volts and five point five eight amps and we have the two mc4 connectors hanging off there I'll show you how to test that really quick with a voltmeter first I want you to notice that I got the red lead here and the black lead here I'll post a link to this multimeter it's very common one on Amazon put this on DC voltage take the red lead put it on the positive mc4 connector take the black lead and put it on the negative DC for connector never see for connector now you see look at the voltage on the multimeter it's at 19.8 that's really close to the 21 that was stated on the cart so that's close enough so now I'm gonna tell you how to test for amps so take these leads off switch this off take this red connector move it to the DC amperage move this to DC 10 amps that's the maximum that you that you'd want to test with this circuit again red lead goes into the red MC for connector black lead into the black for the negative and you see we have six point three apps coming out of this which is actually more than than what's stated that's good that's it that's how to test your panel he's putting out the correct voltage and the correct apps
