How To take Pictures and List items with your phone on eBay

so one thing i thought i would do is show you how i list an item i know many of you list an item but i thought i'd show you how i do it on my table so you could just see the difference of how you may do it so this is obviously my wrapping packaging shipping table let me turn the lights on all right and those are the how i do it just turn on the lights as you can see i got my glass cleaner my uh goo gone for if i got to remove any labels or anything like that i keep that stuff nearby and also i'm gonna be holding the camera i may set it up but i'm holding the camera right now so hopefully it's not too bad it's a little bit shaky now over here i've got some poster board i got black poster board and i've got white poster board because i got a white background and if i do anything really big or tall then i don't have this up i take it down but if it's just small items i just use the poster board and leave it on the table so what i i'll show you here i can take it down and this is thick poster board you can see it's got some thickness to it and if i want a white i just bring that down and i have white if i want black then i just stand these up and now i have black and the item i'm going to show you is a the funny item if you watched kim and i's last thrift haul then you saw me talk about it and well i already opened the bag the price on it said 3.99 but this is half off day so i only paid two dollars for this item so let me throw that trash i don't need it but the item that i'm gonna list is called the poo pourri and this was in the bag now it is still brand new uh let me get all the pieces for it okay it's unopened it's new um and i just set up the items like this you know some i'll kind of take a look how i want to set it set up and for my first picture and this is so funny poo pourri this is boyd boyd runs the operation department at pooh boy is tired he's sitting on a toilet that's just ridiculous there but i guess it sells anyway when i was at the thrift shop i looked it up like i said it was still in the bag it didn't have its original box and i didn't know if it would have a box or not until i looked up comps but then i saw it so here's my phone there's kim all right and so here's the prices now this is new this is open box uh news 26 open box 1599 plus 699 shipping another open box 1799 plus 9.95 shipping brand new 19.99 4.70 shipping 26.99 free shipping wow that was sold for 32. anyway you can see the prices on there are really good so what i'm gonna do is uh i'm gonna list this as open box because it's new it is new it's open box but there's no box so what i'll do is listed as new open box and then down in the description i will just type in there's no original box but the item is still new and sealed because it is it's still got its packaging material on there and this is still closed and sealed and so that way i'll get this all set up take some pictures and that's how we'll do that so let me i'll tell you what let me get the stand and i'll put the camera stand right here so you can see it and i'll try to do it so that you can see everything and i'll show you how i do it on my phone [Music] all right i'm gonna lean down here and have this focus so you can see me but as you can see these items are pretty much white so that's why i went with the black black background um now if you look at the so-called what they recommend for like google and taking pictures white background is supposed to be what pops up and the reason they say that um is because most of the items if somebody was to go to google and go to the google search bar and type in this stuff here the poo pourri it probably would not show up as a search result because of the back background um they try to pick just white the computer or the algorithm however it does it just tries to pick white backgrounds so if you're taking pictures on anything but a white background it's probably not going to show up in a certain google search bar but this is for ebay so hopefully anybody that's searching on ebay looking for anything like this it'll pop up so how i do it how do i take pictures well i just use my phone um what i do is i take and hopefully you don't have a glare but i just take an item like i'm going to take this open box one's got a good title and everything and i'll probably change it around a little bit but uh anyway i just pick one and i think this one's probably a pretty good one so i'm gonna pick this one here okay so as you can see it's sold and i click on it and there we go it opens it up now right at the top it says sell one like this so what i'm going to do is i'm going to look down at the what they put down in the description boy they got a long description i don't do all that i don't do a long description be honest with you i don't do a long long description like that um i just go ahead and generally just leave it very plain unless like i said and this one's not gonna have a box i'll just type in no box now sometimes i'll do it on my phone sometimes i'll do it on the computer sometimes i'll go from my phone to the computer uh take pictures move the computer or sometimes i'll just do it on phone today i'm just gonna do it on the phone and show you so we're gonna go to sell one like this and it's gonna bring me up everything i need to know for selling one like this so right here at the top provide pictures i'm gonna click on that take new photos and there we go now i'm gonna go ahead and take these photos real quick now when i take photos i'm gonna take photos of of everything like that then i'm gonna take individual photos of a couple of different items like this like this move this out a little bit uh take a side picture and you see how i'm kind of format and stuff so it can still be seen a little bit there we go take a side picture take a top picture uh sometimes i'll do all the way around pictures like this take a picture of the bottle i zoom in on it like that take a pic put this up there like this take a side back photo and one more of the back photo and the reason i did that is because the bottle has the how to fill instructions so that's good um this is just some vouchers and some quick start guides or brochures i guess i should say a quick start guide so once i'm done with that i click done now this has a back black that i can't speak today this has a black background so i'm just going to leave it that but you can take some pictures and with the app on ebay if you've got an iphone or even an android phone you can delete the background if the coloring is not right and make it a white background but it's hard to do when you're doing doing on a back black black background i can't get that out a black background all right and so we're just going to leave it at that photos are going to pop up all right so here i've got the title and i'm not going to i'm not going to delete the title i'm going to leave the title the same uh condition open box everything here is good i'm not gonna add anything one thing i'm gonna add is when i put it in my bin i got to figure out which bin i'm gonna put in so that that way i can put it on here what i do is i click on this just touch that it opens it up this is where you put all your item specifics um it's pretty much all filled out everything i need to do but i'm gonna go all the way to the bottom and where it says custom skew i'm gonna click on that and this is where i type my custom skew now i'm going to have this just in a bag so i'll be able to see what it is uh it'll all be together i'll see what it is but i'll put it in the what i want to put in i'm going to put in my chrissy bin so i'm just going to type in chrissy and that's all i do is type it in my chrissy bin and not i know my face is right here close to the camera it's hard it's difficult to do this but that's oop hey look at that message all right so i got it in my chrissy bin so i click that back item specifics go back to my original my description remember i told you that this is not coming in an original box it's going to be open box new no original box so that's what i'm typing normally i would just leave it like that i'll be honest with you but i'm going to do that real quick so i'm going to type in item is new never opened oops no item is new still sealed that's what i meant to say still sealed hold on sorry about that had a knock on the door it was cam she needed to ask me a question let's finish what we were doing here all right so i typed in item is new still sealed not in original box and that's it that's simple that's it that's all i'm gonna do um that's my description pricing it automatically starts off with auction so we're gonna go ahead and change the auction to buy it now um the buy it now price let's do let's do uh well let's wait and see i paid two dollars for it they're competitive but let's be ahead of competitive let's just do 15.99 i think that's a good price 16 um let's go to the delivery uh this technically it's got liquid so you got to be careful about that but let's do um probably one pound so let's do one pound even if it's a little over a pound it's going to be okay because the shipping may may cost 50 cents difference or 75 cents difference but i'm making money off of it so i think pound's a good price that's not heavy this isn't heavy this is two fluid ounces this isn't a pound's good so we're gonna do one pound one pound zero ounces uh package dimensions it always asks you for package dimensions even if you don't know we're gonna put in just remember anything under for one pound 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches and under one cubic foot and under is going to go out at a one pound rate okay so it doesn't matter what you put in put in any anything you want me i can guesstimate and say okay i know the width of this this and this is probably going to go in a four by four by six probably eight by excuse me eight by six by four probably so that's what i'm gonna put eight by six by four that's the dimensions i just put in eight by six by four and honestly again when i sell it i can put in my own dimensions at that point in time but you know as long as you put something in there all right so one pound and it says buyers gonna pay between seven dollars and fifty cents and nine dollars and sixty cents depending on where they live and if i ship this out at one pound my price is probably going to be probably uh between six and seven dollars six and seven fifty so that's fine all right so they were down there like i said now we've done everything i go back to the top look at the pictures are fine everything's good didn't have to change anything there didn't add any more item specifics the category is fine descriptions fine pricing's fine something i forget but always make sure if you're charging the buyer make sure it says buyer pays i've made that mistake so many times where i've had where i've typed in something and left it at free shipping but anyway buyer pays preferences everything's good so now i just click list your item success we have success our item has been listed so now i'm done all i gotta do is click done and there we go it's listed uh that's not my picture but oop let's go selling active and there it is there's the first one right there 15.99 all good so that's how easy it is to take a to list item this is how easy it is to do it with my setup and take pictures now i'm going to do is put that in a bag and put it in the chrissy bin like i said i'm going to do but that's it all right i recently had a question from 999 the new man i guess i said that right 999 the new man i'll put the question up here he says i like that you give items a wipe before listing which i do i always wipe down everything you want it clean when you send something out to somebody you want it clean wipe it down uh does baking items with a hot knife really make buyers happy well that was a good question and what he means was i show a lot of bags where i i take items and i put in bags like i mentioned earlier with this blueberry and i thought since i was going to put in a bag i'd go ahead and show you these items that i'm going to do this is actually a heat sealing machine which i do use sometimes most of the time i just use bags like this they're like poly bags they're self-sealing bags um they're got little things just like a poly miller you take it off and self-seal it and on here are warning labels now i actually buy these off of ebay and sometimes amazon but i've got different shot sizes uh i use six by nines nine by 12 ten by fifteens and i think i even have one larger size for the plush like uh i forget what they are sixteen by twenties or something like that but my most common ones are probably i'd say the nine by twelves ten by fifteens six 6x9 those are my most common and basically it's it's real simple now i will give a demonstration with this you've all seen heat sealers i'm sure but i have this little bottle refill now i know it's sealed it's got the seal in it but for transit and shipping i'm just going to make sure that it's sealed so i'm going to put in this little this little heat sealing bag and these are inexpensive i think 29.99 on amazon maybe 30 dollars plus you get a few bags with them about this size you can buy some larger sizes i do have roll out bags where i can cut make my own size bag but i'm going to go ahead and heat seal this real quick and it's just real simple just that's it it's done it's heat sealed that's simple and now it looks professional it's secure and i know it won't leak if it goes into transit as for items like this uh the rest of this stuff right here uh like i said i just take it put it in here like this and now i could put it in a heat sealing bag and seal it up but i'm not going to i'm just going to use that clear bag with that warning label on it and just stick it in there like this and what i'm actually going to do if i get my hand out is put this bag inside here there we go and i got a little twisted let me straighten it up a little bit probably because i'm not working on my table so much easier let me just move this out away all right so i just take it like i said peel it off it's just like a poly bag lay it down and chuck it into itself and there you go there now it's all all sealed up and all i got to do is put it in a in a box and that looks new professional clean it's got a good look to it whether the item's new or used i'll still put them in the bags people like to get things they know looks protected and taken care of so now i'm going to take this and go stick it in the chrissy bin chrissy bin and that's how simple it is i know this isn't the normal uh what's sold video or haul video or something like that this
