How To Superclean Alloy Wheels

socks day Luke here and in this video I'm gonna be showing you how to do a deep clean on a very dirty alley wheel [Music] hits a subscribe button and bail notification icon to be alerted of all future videos these wheels on a pretty bad way and really the easiest way to super clean these is to take them off the car now this wheel here so moved off of 2013 a Vauxhall Astra as you can see is absolutely filthy and even if you flip it over to the back side of the wheel you can see that this is covered in fake toast I don't think this wheels been cleaned since the cars been new first thing I like to do is blast us down with a pressure washer to remove any loose dirt and contaminants off the wheel that way the chemicals we stick on in a second will be able to target the bait or sit on there a little bit harder that won't come off just with a normal wash at the same time also now we start chemicals on bits of brake dust so we'll just come off very very easily there are no mines this is a deep clean so we're going to go a little bit more aggressive than we were to be doing a normal gentle clean so I'm gonna have my pressure washer up to quite a high setting and we're gonna try and take as much off as possible [Music] once until the surface flips over and to the inside of the rim [Music] [Applause] with a wheel blaster doc can see there's still lots of dirt and grains in the wheels and once take an old microfiber cloth I'm just going to pass the wheel dry it's just gonna go out the chemicals we stick on in seconds just and not be diluted down and just give it a bit more staying power on the surface of the wheel will take a bit more baked or stuff with a little bit less effort it's also worth noting this points we also can just focus on the backside of the wheel now because obviously the face is more important we do want dirt from the back side going down onto the face of the wheel after you've just cleaned us next you want I still intact for fallout and rebirth fake dust has lots of iron particles in them and these type of products specifically target down particles and break them down allowing them to be washed off quite easily [Music] I apply it I'm going to let this 12 just for a few minutes laughs to soak in there real good next up I'm going to take a magic eraser and I'm gonna apply some more iron reacts to the magic eraser now these things are great and if you watch my channel you know I'm big fan of these but basically these have micro bases in them what you're really going to screw up the surface of the wheel and like I've said because this is a deep clean we really need to go a bit more aggressive and at least our scooping a wheel valve and just cleaner nests in a gentle manner also make sure you do unless you have some disposable gloves on because this stops going to get all over your hands if you wear some nicer gloves like I was before they're going to be ruins and you don't get this on naked skin so let's go ahead and saturate a magic eraser with the iron reactor and here we're just going to proceed to scrub the inside of the wheel and you're going to see a lot of this plague just come off pretty easily [Music] well you'll find redoing this if you actually go round the wheel and then leave a couple of minutes to go back again you'll find more products has broken down the layers underneath with among air magically that's gone that's just going to keep removing more products the more times you go about [Music] there's some pissing on the wheels here so we're not going back to get them without doin refurbishments on the wheel but what's important is there's actually no plate just left on the wheel here it's active very very clean and what you see in here any dark bits is just damage to the wheel of the last five years of Wormser now wanna flip this over to the other side and do the exact same process on a funster wheel with the wheel at were dwelling the punch of ease it's a clean because these are active painters on the phones of the back is just plain snow paint on the back so should be a lot better to move on the fonts and stuff should come off just a little bit easier [Music] [Music] [Music] whether we're looking pretty clean now we're just going to take an old giant cloth we're going to just dry the face of the wheel down and when do somewhat decontamination on here just to remove any last bits of tar we have when a clay bar were to make as smooth as possible and add some protection on the end as you can see here the still few table particles left on the wheels and we'll take some tongs glue remover this is obliterate biotic finesse who's gonna spray this of the affected parts alleged well F a couple of minutes [Music] now it's time to clay bar the wheels to move fair the contaminants I tend to keep my used pieces of clay for the wheels you can use clay lube or soapy water or heat crucifix soapy water just go back and forth over face until it feels smooth and no more gunk has come off onto the clay bar finally the most aggressive step is to use 2500 grit sandpaper I use this on the really stubborn parts of won't come off since it shouldn't really be much on there you can try sunders this will dull the clear coats in those areas but can easily polished back [Music] finally after 2500 grit sandpaper once like a machine polisher and some polish I'm using triple biotic finesse here's a compound if you want such as McGuire's all to the compounds that's really good for the money and and you can do this by hand as well but the 2500 grit sandpaper is pretty fine any scratches from this will come out it's very very easily someone's gonna apply some now to the back of this and I'm gonna go over the wheel and this wheel has gone with a brand new eye starts off by spreading the product out on a low speed before telling the polisher look [Music] finally I want to finish off with some sealants they can apply wax on here if you want really a ceramic osun's best cause a lot more job well that's gonna leave a smooth finish mckinney east to clean in the future well a sealants go compromising between phase supply there's a spray a billet off their mouthpieces here rip into the surface i love to even secure for a few minutes just going to get a clean microfiber cloth you're going to book the wheel down check out this wheel this looks so much better than tip before i mean you can see the metallic flakes now popping out an opaque just down here looks almost like brand-new it's super smooth to the touch which means it's going to be easy to clean it to protect it and maybe take about an hour a wheel if you doing this so no it's quite a long time to do a wheel well the results definitely worth it especially if you care about the appearance of your car you'd see how much better this car looks in these shots I haven't even touched the body but even the greenwheels has car look so much fresher anyway thanks for watching and for
