hi all right damn I need a haircut look at how curly it is anyways I've been getting this question pretty commonly recently common I've been getting this common question recently of I've been doing the right things I've been doing them for a while why am I not seeing progress all right so let me quickly go through the three things that actually lead to progress first thing information if you want to achieve something you need to know what to do and how to do it and this is actually the most basic one and everyone pretty much knows this because of the internet you can Google it you can chat jbt the information is out there if you just search for it the next one is where like 50% of people get stuck at it's actually doing it you know what to do but you just don't do it this stops most people and the way to just overcome it is if you're going to study study for 5 minutes tomorrow study for 10 minutes the next day study for 20 minutes and you just keep leveling up go to the gym then you know this concept very well it's Progressive overload you start with the weight that you can do and then you start making it heavier as time goes on every session you add a little bit more weight so so for example for studying if you can't study for 1 hour okay that's not a weight that you can carry right now what's the weight you can carry can you do 10 minutes sure do 10 minutes tomorrow do 20 minutes the day after that do 30 as we just keep on going and increase the weight a little bit every single time we go to the gym we study we read whatever and now once you've taken action the last step is just patience number three patience just keep doing it over and over again there's nothing actually extraordinary about the task of putting a basketball in do the hoop what's extraordinary and what makes Champions is doing it over and over again ever since they're young until they win the championship and so when people ask me I've been doing the right things why am I not seeing progress I just the first question is always describe your life tell me what you do and generally they're doing the correct things they're going to the gym they're doing whatever to achieve their goal but then here comes the bomb of a question a Hiroshima of a question how long have you been doing it for and generally they say one week 2 weeks 1 month that's just not long enough it's like the race is 100 km long and most people are going the wrong direction right they're going in the negative Direction they're not making positive progress so it's 100 km you've ran like 10 km and you're like damn I've been doing I've been going the right direction why am I not at the finish line yet because you're you haven't done it long enough that's all I can say what the you want me to say bro like I can maybe help you to run faster I can tell you that oh at some point you might trip and fall but just keep going but generally you're already on the right path you just need to keep going for 6 months 1 year 2 years 5 years 10 years depending on what your goal is so basically what I'm saying is expand how long you think this thing will take and online we see people get success really fast even me like 100k subscribers actually it's like 200k subscribers now in a little bit over a year that's pretty unrealistic for most people most people will take more than a year most people will take 2 years 3 years to get that online we will always see the people that get success the fastest because the people that didn't get success just never get got success so we never see them right so here's a different way to look at success instead of seeing success as like I do the thing I get result equals success remove the result because the result is not something we can always control for example make video get subscribers equal success this what most people think right why is my hair doing that so instead of record video get subscribers this equals success just say record video videos equal success cuz we cannot control the middle part we cannot control getting subscribers we can make videos that are more likely to get a subscribers but we cannot directly control it so maybe instead of get 100,000 subscribers this year reframe that goal as make 100 good videos this year cuz that's completely under your control and if you do that it's pretty likely you you will get the 100K subscribers or at least be close to that goal or instead of saying bulk up 6 kilog in 6 months say eat 3,000 calories every single day for 6 months this is the exact thing I'm doing right now in the past when I tried to bulk I would eat 3,000 calories one day 2 days 3 days and the scale wouldn't change because it doesn't change that fast but I was like oh I'm not making progress cuz the scale doesn't change so I would stop in my brain if the scale doesn't move that means I didn't make any progress but now I don't see it as eat 3,000 calories scale change equal success I just see it as eat 3,000 calories equal success because sometimes we step on a scale and it just doesn't move like weight gain will never look like this it will never be smooth like that you'll always have these little bumps it's always a bumpy right to the Top If you track your weight and put it into a graph even if you ate correctly every single day the graph would still have bumps it will never be smooth the same for YouTube statistics or if you've seen stocks for like a company's worth it will always have these bumps it is never ever smooth and so if you struggle with being consistent and making progress it's probably because your basic ing progress of a number on a scale that you can never control a number that will always go up and down even if you do everything right so why would you base like your happiness and selfworth as a human being off a number on a scale or a statistic on a screen and so because it's so erratic even if you do the right things it will still have these bumps it will never be smooth we can't even really trust this all we can trust all that we have 100% control over is doing the thing so here's the actionable step that you can do instead of setting a big goal which you should still do you should still set a big goal underneath that Big Goal write down the daily goal the thing that you do every single day that if you do that that means you won the day and it leads you to that Big Goal at the end of the race on a day-to-day basis just base success on the daily task use that Big Goal as motivation for like something in the future to look forward to on the day-to-day basis make the task the goal not the goal the goal because the goal is just the goal it's just a direction for you to run in the task is the running that's how you actually get there I've said this so many times but losers commit to the goal winners commit to the actions that lead to the goal that's how you win at the end of the day instead of looking at the results look at just if you did the thing if you did the thing that means you won today if you won today and you win tomorrow and the next day and the next day if you win every day you've won the goal by the end of the year or two years or whatever how long your expanded time Horizon is and what I've realized is that successful people are usually the ones that can keep doing something over and over again without immediate results that's how people get jacked that's how people make money that's how people get good grades they're able to do the same thing over and over again without results they are able to do an action divorced of outcome bars that is the secret to consistency that is the thing that I want to reframe in your mind that is the belief that I want to destroy instead of thinking I do the action plus results equals progress just see progress as I do the action that way you feel like you're making progress every single day even if the scale doesn't change even if your grades don't move you know you're making progress and you know it will show up eventually later down the line it's just that you haven't ran the race for long enough yet and anyway at the end of the day action is the only thing we have real control over so yeah take action see how bright that is I wanted to record today's video like right there yeah right there sitting on that chair that's usually where I record videos but
