so we're here with Elliot and his Achilles come on tell us what it is all right so this is a 1943 M4A1 Sherman using the second world war by the Americans it's also after the war it was using the range Target basically in its time um later recovered in the 80s in France and we acquired it in 2016 and spent three years restoring it is what you see here how shocked to this was it pretty much 20 mil rounds all the way around or this whole site with a chopped completely blasted yeah it's a MIG welder and a grinder well I literally failed behold literally for them yeah just about the odd ones where he's uh you wouldn't really know would you how did it well with being cast very clean basically made out made out of Rusty Coke cans right well how are you starting to wind it up there and then wind up yeah right you got a nine cylinder radial engine 16 liter or 975 cubic inches in size um how many horsepower about 400 horsepower pretty good and this will do 25 miles an hour basically in Top Gear um [Music] by three actually well so proceed you're already starting because it's a radio you don't just go in and crank it over there no so what we'll do is for a cold start you get the starting handle though which is this thing here you take this out and there's a little hole in the hole here what we do is we put that in there and line it up with the top of the starter isn't it with the starter motor and what we're going to do is basically do 50 turns on this we'll do one whole revolution of the engine and basically what that'll do is we'll get any oil so 50 turns is one revolution yeah of the engine that's a lot turning point so what they'll do is we'll get the oil out the bottom of the cylinders basically it stops the heads blowing off on the bottom for the hydraulic levels foreign [Music] yeah turn the fuel onto the fuel tank down here just turn that on there where's the fuel cap oh yeah yeah nothing there and that's that now we'll cut to inside right so we're now inside with Elliott so viewers this is basically part of the stores to apologies for the seat of it basically um we rushed this to get this assembled for an event back in 2019 so it's not totally finished but it's on the list to give them things to do yeah yeah so that's your dashboard at the minute that's all I've got very complicated so that's um my ignition switch basically and myself which is the correct yeah yeah yeah that would get in the dash normally hello yeah so you can sort of test your mags yes yeah yeah um is there into this let's stick to the turning left yep rights it for right uh because they have a foot break no so put slight slowing you pull back on both at the same time yeah just to stop it basically yeah give me a touchdown gear stick here so this has a five-speed synchron mesh gearbox yeah and one reverse built by Spicer built to last and spice was in the people that make the new Jays yes most things might remember I've got a clutch pedal down here and accelerated pedal and that's it basically for the controls I take it that's engine oil pressure yes a good thing to know yeah I'll just show everyone the we've got some spam Morris lubricants in the back the turret basket's done very nice there's a lot of room in this isn't it well it's because there's a lot of things but like it's quite big stuff you can actually rent this out as a glamping pod you could yeah really okay well let's uh do the starting procedure from the inside right hell of a chair safe mode a little cranky even and a couple of pumps on the accelerator and to draw the fuel length it should just fire up like that pressure [Music] [Music] [Music] right so we're all back from the uh show at operation Market Harborough and we thought why are we moving tanks around would move warm insta the mark 13 Centurion tank that we need to fully restore back to my place um so we can eventually start the restoration but that won't be for a little while yet because we've got so many other things on the go and other things planned stuff that I can't quite tell anyone just yet I don't think there will be spoons some really exciting projects on the way but obviously we need to finish the t-34 first we've got a few little jobs to do left on the diamond tee but we are getting there and then hopefully we can start this mystery project um but yeah this is unloading warm insta the reason we call it Warminster is because it was a gate guard at Warminster camp so what I just seemed this sensible thing to call it also me and Mark are trying to get the scan you through the mot we did take it last Friday and it failed four percent out on secondary breaks an exhaust leak sort of bodged the exhaust up and put brand new brake Chambers at Great expense on the rear axles look at these scabby old things and hopefully it'll pass now would just fitting the last two um the other centuries all back they both need um bits and pieces doing to them and those warm instead looking good in the Sun got the Mark V Chieftain tank that's going to go to the states it was supposed to go this month but now it isn't that's a bit annoying but can't anything about that we've got concrete tucked away in the back there so plenty to be getting on with there but obviously now we're back the primary job is to crack on with the t-34 at the same time we've even got Charlie in today working on the Diamond T so we're trying to get these two projects finished and out the way the inside of the t-34 is now all needle gunned and pretty much ready for paint and primer we're going to paint the inside make it all nice and then we can fit the engine obviously I still need to run the engine that I've got up but yeah hopefully we can be making more videos on this very soon now we're all back from the shows and obviously finished the diamond tea which would be nice oh [Applause] the concentration [Applause] good drill bit today I let everyone's haunted yeah [Applause] how easy is that it's pretty simple it's good it's pretty effortless it's been alive [Music] I think we get the hang of this now one repaired door behind The Apprentice nice talking you
