hi guys uh welcome to my channel audio video me uh recently somebody asked me on YouTube if I could do a video uh for mono setup with two subs uh in a pro audio section and uh that could really help out uh uh them in their house of worship uh uh using uh this uh mono setup with two subs uh so uh for this demonstration the equipment I'm using is Yamaha mg 166 CX USB mixer and I'm using a baringer active crossover uh CX 3400 uh then I'm using three amplifiers uh two are QSC gx5 and one is Crown XL s202 uh I'm going to use the crown uh amp to drive the higher frequencies uh through the B uh uh Boston speaker and then I'm going to use one of the uh QSC uh gx5 amp to drive uh the mid frequencies through uh EV SX uh 300 uh uh the third uh QSC gx5 app I'm going to use uh uh to drive uh the low frequencies through those two subs one is there and one is there and those are EV as b122 uh okay so uh if if you're doing it in a church uh or house of worship and uh if uh your house worship can afford uh a better Louge uh management system then I would recommend going for a dbx drive rack uh or EV dc1 LS system uh but uh I'll show you how to do the wiring and uh uh also after showing the mono wiring I'm also going to show you the three-way stereo wiring basically what you do you just add another EV speaker and a Boston speaker and uh okay so I'll show you uh the back of the rack and back of the speakers how to do the wiring all right uh so this is uh the back of the rack where there are three amplifiers active crossover and a graphics equalizer uh and uh these are the back terminals of the speakers that's the subwoofer and this is the second subwoofer okay to start with uh take a left and uh right output uh from your mixer and uh the left side I'm going to use as uh channel one of my uh sound design for this uh uh demonstration and uh write output from the mixer I'm going to use uh for channel to uh input in all my devices uh for my sound design for this uh demonstration uh okay uh so left and right output from the mixer goes into the input on my Graphics EQ so left uh output uh from the mixer goes into my Graphics EQ now it's not necessary to use a graphics EQ uh but I use it anyways uh with my analog uh uh mixers if it's a digital mixers uh then nowadays they got built-in Graphics EQ depend uh what type of digital mixer you got uh okay and uh so it's going to I'm go to Left input that's my left output to left input Channel One input on my graphic CQ and right itut right output goes into Channel 2 input for my right Channel or okay next and I'm going to show you how to take out the outputs outputs from your graphics EQ uh channel one and channel two goes into your uh active crossover so output from channel one uh from the graphics e VI goes into uh input on channel one on the active crossover and output from Channel 2 from Graphics EQ goes into input on Ive [Applause] crossover okay now next is I'm going to take the outputs from the active crossover and uh connect it to my speakers uh so so uh there are few settings I want to tell you uh with this active crossover if I want to use it in three-way mono or three-way stereo mode then these two buttons need to be in outward position and uh the low sum button needs to be in uh outward position because uh uh the guy request Ted if I can do a demonstration using two subwoofers so I'm going to use the low outputs on both channels and uh just going to use high and mid on channel one and not going to use high and mid on channel 2 for threeway mono with two subs uh these ports they're going to be active anyways but I'm not going to connect anything to it so nothing is going to be routed anywhere so just going to use the low output on both channels and high and mid frequencies for three-way mono with two subs so mid output on channel one goes into Channel One input on my first amp then low output goes onto Channel One on my second app and then the high output from my channel one on my active crossover goes into Channel One input on my third amp okay and uh from the left side sorry for the right side channel two I'm just going to take low output for my second sub and it's going to go to my second amp channel two through which I'm going to be driving the Subs okay so so far these are the uh connections from the active crossover to the amplifiers and uh next I'm going to show you how to take the outputs from the amplifier and connect it to your speakers okay so the amp that's driving my mid mid frequencies just going to take a output from channel one on the amp and that goes into input on my EV sx300 then an output from Channel One on Second amp which is driving my low frequencies a speak on output goes to the first subwoofer speakon input which is EV sb122 okay now from my second amp Channel 2 speak on output goes into input on the second sub sb122 and now from output from the crown amp I'm going to take these outputs to drive my high frequencies on my Boston speaker okay so positive goes into positive Channel One output negative goes into negative terminal on channel one output okay so next it's going to go to this Boston speaker inputs right here okay positive goes into positive and negative goes into negative input okay so those are the connections made and uh now let's test the system okay so once you have made all your connections uh just test the system uh uh for your uh house of worship uh if you have uh connected several mics test uh all the mics and uh do your ringing and stuff uh I'll make a video on uh how to do uh the ringing on your uh microphones using a graphics EQ uh once I get the proper equipment and uh the time to do it uh so uh once you have uh done your three-way mono with two subs connection uh just connect uh uh microphone and test testing one two two two this is a test test one two two2 okay so once you have done your microphone check uh it's time to uh check uh whether your uh crossover is doing the proper job uh by playing some music uh so best way is uh uh connect to iPod so I'm just going to connect to iPod to my mixer going open okay and just going to play some music now okay so now I'm playing some music uh from my iPod and uh I'm going to cut off uh the different frequencies on the crossover just to double check that uh it is set up properly so basically for this setup channel one is uh on the crossover is operating the high mid and low frequencies and channel 2 is only uh driving the low frequencies for the second sub uh so I'm going to let the music begin and then I'm going to C cut the frequencies all right so now I'm going to try to cut off uh the high mid and low frequencies and I'm going to uh turn off the apps uh individually just to demonstrate when I cut the high frequency uh how the sound sounds like and uh same with the uh mid and low frequencies okay let's start it [Music] so now I'm going to cut off the high [Music] frequencies so now the high frequencies are gone and uh the crossover point between high and mid I have selected as 1K so now what you're hearing is just low frequencies and uh midrange frequencies I'm going to add the high frequencies [Music] back okay now I'm going to cut the low frequencies for low [Music] frequencies okay I've cut off the low frequencies all you're hearing is high and mid fre uh high and bid frequency now and for low frequencies I've uh selected 80 HZ crossover point on channel one and channel two okay I'm going to add back the low frequencies [Music] now I'm going to cut off the mid [Applause] frequencies so all you can hear is high and low frequency I'm going to add the mid frequency [Applause] [Music] back [Music] okay guys so that was uh uh three-way uh mono uh configuration with uh uh two subs uh now uh I'm going to show you how to do uh the uh 3way stereo uh basically uh we got uh high and made outputs uh wakened on our Channel 2 on the active crossover so I'm just uh going to connect uh those ports uh to uh my uh app that's uh driving the high frequencies and uh the mid one I'm going to connect to my uh amp that's driving the mid frequencies uh okay so just going to do the connection now okay so on channel two mid output from E crossover goes into channel two mid input our channel two input and uh channel two too high output goes into Channel 2 input on the crown map which is driving the high frequencies then next uh you repeat the process uh from your amp that's driving the mid frequencies you take Channel 2 out put goes into uh your second speakers mid-range speaker and uh uh on the third amplifier which is driving the high frequencies you take a output from Channel 2 and that goes into your uh speaker that is driving uh the high frequencies uh so that's how you do the 3way stereo setup okay okay so uh hopefully uh uh I've explained uh in a simple way how to do a 3way uh mono uh setup uh uh for your house of worship uh with two subs and uh also I showed you how to do uh the wiring if you want to use the same setup same sound design uh for 3way studio uh all right guys uh if you have enjoyed this video uh please uh click on the like icon and I'll keep making informative a videos thank you bye
