hi friends my name is akil ahmad and in this particular video tutorial i will show you how to set up an sftp server on windows 10 machine these days sftp server is widely used and it is very popular as compared to the normal ftp server because sftp server is very secure so in this particular video we will see how we can install the sftp server on the windows 10 machine so there are few tasks that we will do first of all we will install the open ssh server and then we will create an inbound role in the firewall for port number 22 and then we will start the open ssh services from the services.msc and then we will download and install the win scp tool and then we will connect to the sftp server so these are the steps those we follow in this particular video so let's jump to the demo now under windows search option we need to type features here and after you type feature so there is an option manage optional features so you can click on this one and this will open you the optional features so if you see the install features then you will find open ssh client here so this is by default installed when you install the windows machine and now to install the open ssl server you need to click on add a feature and here you need to type open and as soon as you type open so you will see an option open ssh server so you can click on this particular checkbox and then you can click on install so this will install the open ssh server on your windows 10 machine so the open ssh server is being installed and you can wait for a couple of minutes so the open ssh server has been installed and now you can close this particular window so now the next option is that you need to create an inbound rule port number 22 in the windows firewall so you can open the control panel and then under control panel there is an option windows defender firewall so you can click on this particular option now you can go to the advanced settings and here you need to click on the inbound rules and then click on new rule you need to select the port option from here and then you can click on next the rule type will be tcp and you need to type the port number 22 here okay and you can click on next so this will allow the port number 22 which is required for the sftp server and now you can click on next allow the connection all these three check boxes will be checked in and you can click on next you can type the rule ssh server and you can click on finish so now you can see that a new inbound rule ssh server has been created so you can close this particular option so our two points are done now the third point is that we need to start and run the open ssh services so we can type services.msc here and click on the services here you can type the oh which will let you go to the open ssh server so at the moment the open ssh services are stopped so you can right click on it and go to the properties under startup type you can click on the automatic and then click on start so this will start the open sss services now you can click on apply and ok and then you can close this one so our open ssl server is ready to be used and now we can just go to the google and we can download and install the win scp so we can type download win scp okay for windows and then we can go to the official website winscp.net and from this particular website if you scroll down we can click on this option download win sap the latest version is this one 5.21.1 so the download is being done so the exe file got downloaded and you can click on this particular exe file which will pop up in installation wizard you can click on install for all users yes here you can select the accept yeah you can just continue next typical installation yeah you can continue next commander install so this will install the win scp on your windows machine which is required to connect to the open shs server open getting started which you can uncheck this one launch win save so you can click on finish which will launch the win sap client so now it is asking you to connect to the sftp server under file protocol there are multiple options and the sftp server is by default connected now we need to type the ip address of the machine so if i check my what is the ip address of my machine so i can type cmd command prompt and i can type ip config okay so under ipv4 address this is the ip address of the machine and i can copy the ip address of my machine and close this option and i can paste the ip address here if you see the port number is 22 which is that default port for the sftp server for which we created the inbound rule now we need to type the username of the machine so my machine username is hp and now i need to type the password of my windows machine for the hp user so let me type my password and i can click on login so now you can see that i need to click on yes and it got connected to the sftp server so it means that sftp server is running so on the right side these are the folder from the sftp server okay so this is the desktop folder so you can just copy anything from here and like any file and you can also you know copy the file from here and move to another server so this is how you can install the sftp server on your windows 10 machine thank you guys for watching the video and if you like the video then please click the like button do subscribe to our channel
