hey guys this is kept again from Kripke the chameleon and friends and soon will be approaching summer so I'll show you how I set up my outdoor patio pond thanks for joining us I'm gonna quickly walk you through what I've done here you may notice at the bottom I built a platform I also painted in black so I can match the color of the stock container this is a hundred and forty gallon stock container you may also notice I have a leveler to ensure that it's leveled and the waters not going to spill over or lean from side to side inside the stock container I have a filter this is a pond filter it also has a UV sterilizer on it this can help keep the water clear so it wouldn't get green during the summer since it's an outdoor gun I also have some lights these are some lights to light the pond up at night so I have a few lights I put some rocks to hold it down if you come a little bit to the side we have a pond hose that's connected to the filter it makes its way up and it goes here to a DIY spillway this is a waterfall so once it fills up it comes to the front with a lip and then it comes over the waterfall the way I made this I simply took a pot from Walmart one of those plastic pots I also got this piece of plastic it's like a little drain that they were selling so I cut it in half and created a lip and I put pond liner inside of this pot so in the event that it breaks down the plastic breaks down over time it's not going to poison your fish so I took Riggle the pond liner I lined it inside and as you can see in here I have two entry points this is where the water flows from the inside and then it can circulate in here and that makes its way to the front and then spills over as a waterfall these are also some of the supplies I'll also be using from this pond right here we have some Bolly straws this also helps keep the water clear so I wouldn't get green during the summer we have here some mosquito dunks just in the event you happen to get any mosquito larvae you can keep that under control last year I didn't have any mosquitoes but the year prior a few showed up and since I have large goldfish they're not gonna be able to see those little mosquito larvae and eat them just like tiny fish camp over here I have a timer this timer is used for the pond lights to turn on at night I have here a pump I also have here some tubing some air tubing it's in black to match the color of the pond right here we have a very large air stone you can put a couple of air stones in the if you choose to but I got a very large Konig air stone and I also have that spillway coming over so it's going to give it sufficient for the agitation from the top if I go a little bit to the right I have here some bioballs we're going to take these bio-balls the bio media and we're gonna put it into the top of spillway and so they can create a nice safe biological environment for the fish if I go over here to the right we have some stress coke this is to help to chlorinate the water I also have here some flooville biological enhancer this also helps from as far as cycling of the tank on top here I have my little trusty owl because I lived near the beach and we have a lot of seagulls so it can sometimes be a concern I have here some pond netting this is a net to cover the pond I also have another secondary one that goes first and then I put this one on the top as backup and over here I have some plants I've been growing for the last few weeks so I'm gonna put these into the pond as well so now that I've put all the components together as you can see I added some contact paper to the outside of the tub to help you defy the bit so you always have that option to add some contact paper of different varieties I put the pond plants in there as you can see my overspill it's active the water is coming down like a waterfall we also have this little sprinkler in the bottom that's in there as well I added some plans to the sides we have our palm plants within in the back here you can see the barley straws added a few little bonsais to the side I also have some pop those plants here to just help enhance the look as well as help promote cycles of the tank and some other palm plants on the top as you can see in the bottom we have a few of my jumbo sized volt fish they're so beautiful some of these are pretty big they're over in 8 inches long I also have right here my trusty out on the lookout he stays sharp so this guy's is pretty much what you can do they have a beautiful pond so I hope you guys like it here's also other ways you can enhance your pond as well and I'll show you that in a few minutes to further enhance your viewing pleasure you can always consider getting an added spear as you can see right here we have an atmosphere it's a little globe that allows your fish to swim from the bottom of the water to the surface and go into the globe for your viewing pleasure you can also use it from as far as inspecting your fish just to make sure there is no injuries or they are not sick so it definitely comes in handy so I'm gonna go ahead and put them in the pond so you can get a better look so this is the visually stunning atmosphere folks look at how beautiful they are you can see my jumbo size Blackmore my orange Aranda also have my white Aranda came in their beautiful jumbo size fish just imagine coming to your patio in the morning for breakfast and looking over at such a sight having barbecues with friends it's a great way to entertain as well as doing health checks on your fish so there are many different ways of building and customizing your own patio pond this is just an example of how I do it but if you're interested in doing something like this similar for yourself please be sure to just visit my description area I added as many links as possible so you can just feel free to click on them this is kept again from Kripke the chameleon and friends just before I go let me just tell you quickly how I cover this at night I have this mesh this is like a hardened mesh that you can get in any hardware store I use this and I tie the top and I also add my pond net because as I mentioned before I have seagulls in the area so I put this first tie it down then I put my pond net if you find yourself in a situation where you're getting too much Sun you can also purchase these this couldn't give them places to hide as well as proper shade I'll see if I can add that in my description as well and then from there I just turned my lights on at night and these guys are rocking
