I think the power of social media and how you can use video content like that you have created that you now see like back in the day there was nobody doing reals saying this is what I do like simply like social media reals now is like almost your virtual business card you're letting people know what you're doing um you're you're you're putting that out there and it and you don't have to be the best at it but you could be the the best out of the people that are doing it or the most known why the guy that's the smartest life insurance person in the world is sitting in the desk with old school business cards and he never tells anybody what he [Music] [Applause] [Music] does welcome to a special episode of The Life Insurance Academy podcast today we have episode 200 uh it's it's pretty crazy to think that we've got here but we have episode 200 and with having this episode we have a special guest in here Sydney Australia he might be I'm not real sure but he is the man the myth the man behind the curtain he's the guy and wizard of odds you got to open the curtain he he controls pushes the buttons and pretend he does a lot of things he pretends he does more than no but all seriousness he puts all the cool effects the special things and he makes this thing happen uh today we have Mr Adam stefen uh in in studio with us he's actually I don't know how he's doing it it's about he's the producer I feel this is the wrong side of the camera I don't like this this is producer of the life insurance Academy podcast Adam Stephan way to go man welcome to the show welcome to your first episode right you got say it's almost my H 100th episode and still somehow my first episode so we're going to we're going to try to run with that that's right you you get a minute to say hi to the audience so so hi everyone I know it's it's not as pretty as you know the rest of the guys and this that and the other but uh no your uh your feedback and stuff from everything that we've kind of jumped on since I've been a part of this has has been has been amazing and uh yeah I'm excited to to be on the side of the camera it's gonna be fun you do I think you you probably have the best voice though the radio he does have a good voice so that I did I did have a a radio show one of my one of my stint in college Monday Wednesday Fridays I did afternoons with Adam your alternative hour how are we just learning about this right now how did I not told you this before yeah I don't remember hearing that do you oh yeah you got to develop the radio voice so you talk like this you drop you really adjust the tonality oh yeah no no wait a second but it was alternative so intro guns and& Roses Sweet Child am I no that's that's classic rock Chris that's not well now it is no well yeah here's I'm I'm approaching that age though now too where it's kind of funny where you look at the the the age of what used to be classic rock for my generation now all of a sudden the music that I grew up listening to is now that same age you know when you realize that 30 years ago was 93 yeah yeah that hurts my brain hurts well let's let's give you some context as to what you the agent is going to learn today uh we wanted to invite Adam on to the episode today because Adam's been a huge uh contributor to the success of the podcast our social media content our brand growing the brand elevating what we believe is the quality of sales and sales professionalism in the life insurance Space by helping create this platform and you make it look so pretty with the blue uplighting and you make us look nice and the filters that take out our wrinkles or maybe you're not doing that I don't know uh and all the things that you do in here right um to to make this fun all the little popups on screen and when Chris says some crazy things there's there's tornadoes and boats and stuff showing up all kinds of stuff and you're the guy who makes that happen but for our agents that are listening the the value that you've brought to them them by the way you deliver the content uh if you guys have appreciated the way the content is delivered like give throw in the comments there about the the value that you've gotten maybe from the podcast or an episode let's let's give the the virtual Applause and now you got a place to drop in some Applause for yourself right here right here okay for me as well if I'm not looking at the camera I'm also trying to to to to to produce the episode while we're doing it so forgive me he's got multiple I did see a comment come across the stream wondering if you're crosseyed they would they were a little confused but just a little bit a little bit so one of the value points that we thought would be great for for you guys is we get a lot of questions about what should I do on social media how do I grow my sales how do I grow my brand I'm looking to scale my agency I'm looking to start hiring agents so there's really two facets to that right how do you generate more leads organically to sell for your clients and we have a lot of agents that work with us now that have come to us and we've done consults and we've worked with them on helping them build their brand and often times it's in a niche in life insurance sales okay the second component is I want to start growing my agency I want to start um hiring and building and building actually a business here and not just be a salesperson how do I leverage social media how do I leverage video to actually do that so there's really two ways that Adam has really empowered us and the way that the life insurance Academy has positioned in the marketplace to grow a business a brand and to actually accomplish that goal of elevating the professionalism in the space um we get a ton of people that talk to us about content on each of those let's dive into the first one which is client uh facing content when I say client facing content it might be someone who actually does um taxfree retirement strategies using cash value whole life and that was what what we would call a market Niche how have we seen some of our clients work with us and even some of the people that you've worked with CU you've actually hosted some of them in here where they've come in and used the studio rented space come in here and they've shot content for their own personal brand um what are some of the ways that we're seeing agents leverage social media and video to reach clients when you say clients you're not talking about hiring um clients yeah so you're talking about clients for like uh purchasing policies and life insurance clients right yeah so we'll see regardless whatever we talk about here there to me there's two specific ways One is using social um the other is YouTube I think those are the two ways and I would call both of those social yeah yeah I guess so YouTube's the isn't it the largest now or the second largest search engine second larg second largest to Google yeah search engine because it's owned by Google yeah and you can actually search and Google will present YouTube content as a result in the search yes which is different than Instagram and Facebook and Tik Tok right yeah so the the one uh is to become first uh an educator and then to become an expert because you can start to build credibility by being an educator and yes and I would say like that was that was kind of my secret for me in my growth was bringing somebody alongside of me while I was learning and I could start to teach them the process that I was learning yes that I was learning right so I kind of had approach it as um becoming an educator to myself first that I was learning it first and there's simple pieces that you can start to to promote simple ideas whether it's life insurance Bank on yourself system or whatever that is and you can start to share that out there on social and YouTube that's that seems like that then as you grow and in that space it gets a little more uh it gets deeper more complex there more principled and that's you're becoming an expert and and you start to build an audience because of that consistent education yes people value Educators and it's the consistency as well like I think that's really a big point and making a point that you're you're not only putting yourself out there what you're bringing to the table out there you're doing it enough that it gets found in the sea of social media mhm things get lost things get buried if you're not putting stuff up regularly we saw the biggest jump in our numbers when we started doing the the shorts when we started making a point that every single day we've got a new piece of something coming in I always try to make it a point to have a little bit of value within in that little bit but then to kind of point it to the the main aspect of it YouTube shorts you're referring to now consist yeah YouTube shorts consistently that was kind of our our big daily we've been posting on Facebook and Instagram uh I think we're are we still we still doing Twitter X I don't think we're doing Twitter not so much or x uh we do post some content on uh Tik Tok M it's mostly Instagram reals and uh Facebook video like the reals obviously we do posts but we did see a really big jump when we because we record the podcast once a week we have one episode we don't record once a week so secret secret sometimes we record what we call block recordings you know uh where we'll actually do three or four recordings in one session uh and then we'll release those over series weeks but we release them once a week mhm but then we have all this content and clips that we were like we're missing a boat because YouTube has now come out with short form content to to compete with the Tik toks to compete with Instagram reels and now we're dropping those clips in the short form content on video on YouTube as well and that saw our subscriber rate really grow on our YouTube channel we went from 800 subscribers a year and a half ago February where are we now uh 11,700 11,700 subscribers yeah we're we're almost getting as many subscribers every month as we had when when I came on yeah that's and we saw the number bump when we started adding our content to from reals which is the same content we just dropped it in YouTube shorts and and honestly and we probably aren't we don't put enough content out there maybe I mean that's something we why are you getting more work for me while I'm sitting here do you guys hear what they're doing to me they're putting more on my plate so I can't say no cuz I'm in front of you guys I think it stems from where where this all started and the idea um and I honestly believe that we were the you know best kept secret I thought we had really good training I thought we had really good understanding of a of a principled sales system uh but we for some reason one way or another didn't utilize these platforms to share right we didn't um we we kept everything internally yes we we we did run an agency agency had some of the highest premium per agent compared to any other groups out there uh but we were I don't know we weren't just just we were a little reluctant to share all of it to everybody else um and we we really had to understand why and I think the power of social media um and how you can use video content like that you have created that you now see like back in the day there was nobody doing reals saying this is what I do like simply like social media BS now is like almost your virtual business card you're letting people know what you're doing um you're you're you're putting that out there and and you don't have to be the best at it but you could be the the best out of the people that are doing it or the most known why the guy that's the smartest life insurance person in the world is sitting in a desk with old school business cards and he never tells anybody what he does um that has been the biggest change that I have seen um with agents and people marketing their business and marketing themselves is finding out what is everybody doing what is the audience looking at what platform are they engaging with and hey I want to say hey everybody I do insurance I educate families um or I recruit agents and provide opportunities whatever you do you just get in front of that crowd and you keep saying hey everybody I'm still here I'm doing it and you keep showing enough up enough like Adam's saying that consistency and that content is is gold and it's interesting Zach you say that because there was a comment that I read somewhere before about I think it was with Luke AE on we did a video on branding and marketing and he said all the metrics and studies show it's never the best that actually gets the most business it's the best known and and and we're both just but it's never the best but it's the best known they actually did a study uh and they did an avatar they created a a fake real estate agent love that movie a fake real estate agent which and they created this Avatar of what this fake real estate agent was they went around and surveyed a bunch of people in this one town and they said who's the most known and most successful real estate agent in this area and they did the whole study and they got all the results and then they went into a six- week campaign I think it was 6X 6x6 or something or 8 by 8 by four by4 8 by 8 by eight 8 by eight they did like uh eight weeks of campaigns um there's a whole strategy behind it you'll have to look at the Luke a podcast to get it and after the eight weeks they they went and redid the same study and this person was a fake agent they did fake Billboards fake mailings blah blah blah whatever I think it was mostly mailers but they knew them by name yes and after and when they did the survey again people start listing that person as the most successful real estate agent in their area and it wasn't even a real person they probably picked a phenomenal name it was the name was I don't know I don't know I think it's if you think about that so it's the consistency of content M uh a lot of Agents don't know how to start like we didn't know how to start when we started so we just you have the answer just start just start and and I'll tell you and these guys know me I'm not that guy right I'm the guy that plans I like to be strategic uh but sometimes I'm at my best when it just comes out naturally and the the coolest thing is to see the different videos and some of the the highest performing videos that we've had um or podcast has been ones where we just naturally expressed our knowledge and started sharing it everybody no matter if your brand new or you've been in the business for a long time just start sharing your journey and and talking about what you what you know or what you are learning um or some of the experiences you've had with your clients or families you've been able to help like that is really cool and really attractive and they can see that growth Journey there's not one person that you can you can identify anybody on social media or video content or YouTube that you're like this is a successful YouTube person you can pick out anybody you want now go look at their very first ones and see the difference there's always a journey and it's and and you guys can go back and look at our first matter of fact when we started the very first things we did was throw up audio like uh just audio files into the video format we still get comments on those videos that are literally just a picture with audio people still comment on that because they're listening to it that way so if you're concerned if you're concerned on on the video aspect of worrying about what you look like if you're bringing value it's value it doesn't matter what you look like how you present yourself there's some more to that I'm a little there's a little bit to that I'm very very much generalizing but just know that if you have something that people want to hear they're going to listen to you will you build a cartoon to those episodes would just have sitting here just work on this other thing that it has has to be clation stop motion claim I'm that would be hilarious that' be great but the uh that that those beginning pieces and I do want to you mentioned something I want to go back to uh you said um we gave our we were giving our secrets culturally before this happened nobody was doing that I want to say nobody because Cody Cody asins was doing that and I want to tip my hat to Cody yeah because he he really kind of carved the way and pav the way for this idea and um we we saw the value in that for ourselves with people who are reaching out to us from that correct now so you may be sitting there and you're like I don't I don't want people to know my secrets you know literally you may be thinking that because we talk to people about it and they say those things to us feel like it's proprietary like they didn't have anyone contribute to the learning of that secret yeah now everybody knows who your uh your go-to joke meat is right that's right so if Dam if that's you and this is this is the the facts like not everybody's going to do it most people aren't going to do it most people aren't going to do what what we share that's that's it but the great thing is there are people who will and they'll become a part of your network correct and you will rise together through that correct and then most people that will won't keep doing it oh yeah what's the stats I don't know what it is but what's the stats like once you do was it like 50 episodes or something like it's like a huge difference in like podcasts existing or something like that yeah the the the podcast longevities yeah if you like launch a podcast you're referring to yeah most people launch a podcast and they never make it to 50 like 98% of them never make it to 50 episodes it's insane because they don't have the consistency or the patience to do it well I don't think they've thought it out as well like is is there enough content to be able to push however consistently you're doing it to get to 50 episodes that's why a lot of you know popular content creators on YouTube even you know they'll only drop once a month they'll get a million 5 million views in the first handful of hours but you know the level you know what they're bringing to the table and you know that in this amount of time they're going to do it but yeah to to get to that consistency it's it's tough and and what what can the what can the audience expect and are you keeping your promise to your audience we our our promise to to you guys is we are going to put out a podcast weekly once a week we haven't overextended ourselves it's what we know we can commit to has it been a strain sometimes yeah it's been a challenge TimeWise because it's isn't the only thing we do believe it or not right so we got some well it's interesting because you have to find your Cadence like we've got we've got a young lady that works with us her name is Rosio suel she's been on the podcast before you can go back and look at her episode she's connected now with a couple of other ladies in her community Latina ladies and they do um actually I think they did an Instagram live last night I saw it I saw clips of it last night and uh there was um uh Rosio goes on regularly and does these educational clips and then she does these funny ones too you know it's funny it's engaging and so people keep coming back to her for that and now she's engaging with other people to help develop the content that are not even in her part of her agency but across the ecosphere you know of people that she trusts in that space and she's developing an audience based on the value that they consistently bring one of the things that we so you may be thinking well I don't know if I got enough content how do I do it do turn on my phone and I just look stupid am I doing the upshot do I have the lighting right there's a few things that you can get correct and we have people that come to us and we we help consult with them on that stuff and we can help you get some of the fundamentals and Basics right but I will tell you this do what you can don't overextend and just be consistent with that because there was a time we were trying to do teaching videos and podcasts and if you go back and look like some of our highest viewed viewed content pieces are teaching videos M they are problem was we're all very busy we're running multiple businesses and to do those teaching videos and carve out time for podcasts was started to be a little bit of a strain we've had this conversation internally here the way we best operate is when we sit down and we have a dialogue about a topic that we know is very has a high value and then we can just engage it it's not really the the teaching piece necessarily and so that works for us right that works for us and then we've hired Adam to do the video producing of that the audio producing we started with audio only for the podcast that went on for how 53 years episode 53 epis okay that was close yeah so when did you take over when did you start I took over January 17 of 2011 22 22 22 and how many episodes did we have then roughly uh my first episode was 102 103 okay 102 103 now we didn't really start doing you uh we didn't really start taking the content from audio to YouTube with consistency until you started correct we were we had some but we were inconsistent at best and then we started getting consistent with that Weekly right but we had to make an investment so how can you start you can start with a virtual assistant you can start with a VA so a lot of our agents that work with us we recommend they go get a VA who understands social media content in the insurance space and they can help you do those short form clips for Instagram reels for Tik Tok for YouTube shorts for Facebook videos um and go get a VA I know a company I'm going to I'm going to selfishly I'm going to promote a company called squaddle SQ a d squadle eel saddle.com and go to squad.com and go for social media and look at what the options are do a consult tell them how many hours you need and they'll come back with you super super affordable these teams of people are high highly uh uh trained and qualified people from the Philippines they'll come alongside you and give you one one short a day one reel a day and I mean it's very very affordable and they take the work off of it so really you're just putting the camera on you're doing your one segment that you can do load that to a Google file send it off and have someone who's a VA specialist come alongside you and release that content on all of your platforms and you look like a hero it's not that hard to start in that space now once you get into a little longer form content on YouTube that's when you need maybe a little bit more production and consistency and that production value and uh so we've invested in that over time but you have to start somewhere um and that's a great place to start any any thoughts on that so starting point that's great and just just do it get the content out figure it out it doesn't have to be perfect you have to start somewhere right and you'll look back like go look back and see your growth through this process I do think the other part that that accelerates that and depending where you are in this is networking and getting connected to people people who are willing to work with you to help you succeed in that um and and we've seen that with with agents who've who've come come to us for this very thing um you know we've connected with uh true wealth with Mike courting and Jaylen tally and they've been on here you guys it's one of our most popular episodes um they've is the most popular podcast episode it is on video okay not a teaching video podcast and right now they they did that about a year ago with us and that has 16 ,000 views almost 17 almost 17 well I know he's he's a numbers guy and their their organizational growth is expanded considerably because of that that episode yes one episode can make it change everything piggyback on that is it's part of that networking is go to events attend events um Network through events uh we met Jaylen and Mike at an event in Cincinnati you know it's cool how um events isn't it's it's not just about the content you're getting from stage on hey do this do that hey I successful listen to my story it's the other people in the room and the connections that are made and the collaboration that happens uh that's what's powerful about it you know and you know we connected with them they we started following their Journey um helping them they're reaching out getting part of the coaching program all of a sudden they're on the podcast I mean just things happen and it's really cool Synergy um but it all stems from networking and and you know go to that event you know pay pay that ticket price wherever it is it it is worth it well I'm actually going to take that a little forward a little further forward because because of how that progression happened with them and then because they saw the value of networking and connecting and getting on the podcast I I was just talking about a week or so ago and we had someone else on their team that was invited to the podcast to speak they said we need to hurry up and have a meeting with that person CU they need to get ready for the podcast effect they literally said those words podcast effect the podcast effect and I was like what is that and they were like well cuz a lot of people are going to be reaching out to them about what they do as a result of the podcast exposure so what I want to say is this as you're investing to start something people want to be involved and collaborate with other people who are doing something special in the space a lot of people don't take the time to do it you can be a differentiator educating people on your Niche maybe it's debt-free life maybe it's debt action plan eliminating debt with cash value your whole life maybe it's tax re retirement planning maybe it's final expenses the value of that how they can help them uh maybe it's um you know there's all kinds of metrics right it's all kinds of verticals in life insurance that you can be an educator on to Consumers to build value and there's other people experts in the area that as soon as you become one of those voices other people will want to help you because they have a passion for the same thing and when those passions align the value goes way up in the audience and so it pushes your audience it increases your subscriber rate great things happen out of that so so a progression of that came out where uh we're actually doing an event I've been invited to speak at one of Cody's events here in a couple of weeks um in Dallas Texas an 8% event uh well guess who also got invited to speak at that event in Dallas Texas Mike and jayen courting because of what they're doing the special things they're doing and because he's seen them on videos and because they have a following now mik courting and jayen T what did I say Mike and jayen cang oh my gosh I am so sorry do an edit on that because we don't edit anything I have a high value Rel that that phrase mang jayen T yeah true wealth so they've both been invited to be on that thank you for that correction because that would have been bad um thanks for but they've invited to be on that stage in Dallas here in a few weeks so great things happened from that but guess what they started somewhere and they were bad at it first we started somewhere we were bad at it first I encourage you to start somewhere and be bad at it first because you can only learn and go up from there um why YouTube Why YouTube Adam you have why not just social why not just Instagram and Tik Tok if you want to know how to do something where do you go to find out Google Google or or YouTube yoube I always say YouTube's the um America's dad kind of father in America but it's one of those things cuz if you go if you go to social you're going to get somebody's take on something but you know that's be different flavors and and it's not really the the type of content that's being put out there and the educational content within a lot of the social media platforms is short clips and snipp it's short clips it's high level overviews it's very broad Strokes you know like I had an issue with my car a couple of weeks ago and I haven't done that repair in 15 years yeah you listen to Life Insurance Academy podcast learn how to change brakes that's right episode 89 change your brakes change your brakes change your life and you you youtubed it and I youtubed it yeah that's so it's it's YouTube is a is a very unique audience in the sense that it's kind of the new age of how people are going to digest media you know like Netflix came out and broke the system of oh it doesn't have to be broadcast you can stream it okay well now streaming has become huge and become a thing now if you look at it again look at Mr Beast right the number one YouTuber around he gets more views than a Super Bowl per video that's crazy that is crazy consistently and he's mostly giving away money and it's opened up for him it's opened up a whole philanthropy thing like if you if you are getting into YouTube and you want to understand how YouTube works and the ways to go about it that's been my resource is Mr Beast and then people that he has worked with people that he has edited people that he has used to kind of design and build and and and brainstorm like that is hands down something I would recommend to go to go and check out but it just it reaches an audience that has a slightly longer attention span and because of that slightly longer attention span you get more value out of that concept so what will your nickname be he's Mr Beast that's taken I don't know you've got some nicknames what's one of your nicknames You' like we're doing that we're not throwing that what's one of your nicknames you'd like to disclose right tell you what there's one nickname that I'm willing because there's a whole part of the country that only knows me as this I almost didn't get a job cuz someone didn't know my real name it's patches patches patches of we're not going to get into the story patch we're not going to put that on the podcast it's going in there going in the podcast the story won't go in there because I'm just not going to tell you perfect so like YouTube for those of you who are a big social media people especially especially Millennials and and and those people that are just turning 20 I don't even know what they're called are they post millennial now what are they gen Alpha gen Alpha wow all right and so they're coming into this space and so they'll they'll see Tik Tok and Instagram reals as their primary you know media social media I want to encourage you to think about like YouTube is the only platform that actually also has short form content the same yes the scroll effect is the same but it also has long form content and both the short form and long form content are both searchable on Google very so if you search life insurance sales training on Google go do it and you will see this podcast will pop up if you search life insurance podcast not Academy just life insurance podcast podcast training life insurance sales training you will see our episodes pop up and there are graphics with a thumbnail of the YouTube video which they click it takes you directly to YouTube starts to play so it's searchable that's not possible on Instagram it doesn't work like that on Instagram or Tik Tok because it's a it's a contained self-contained platform scroller yeah and so there's a huge value in that crossover so I know many of people that just do social content and they're just they're an agent and they've just got started they're doing education for you know um debt-free life or Bank onyour yourself Concepts and they do a lot of form content and I look on YouTube and they're not there I'm like it's the same video Drop it into a short a YouTube short every day and drop one every day on YouTube as well your YouTube subscriber will go up the minute you drop a long form content video you already have a pre-built audience who likes your content right it's a huge value and so I reached out to a few people just this past two weeks and I said I noticed you're doing Facebook you're doing Tik Tok you're doing Instagram but your content's not on YouTube they said well we don't do videos yet I said you do you're missing this segment called YouTube shorts because the it's the way that they're thinking about it um so huge value so YouTube uh has been a massive of um and that's the beginning of it yeah because you said you said that the the shift you know it went to streaming my kids don't even watch anything but YouTube that's it that's it I'm like hey they're boys though yeah they are boys and I don't know I don't know about young ladies or what that looks like but I'll tell the boys I'll be like guys you're missing MASH come watch an episode of mash with old your old dad and they're like uh I I'm watching YouTube like good job guys see you later well according to all the stats when we look at our stats Adam I think we've done some studies our stats are almost 80% mail on YouTube 80% yeah it's for our audience yeah it's 80% would would you say that's normal on YouTube you know I know Patrick P David has also quoted that his audience is closer to 85% male on Youtube we're we're a little softer 85 Patrick Bet David right so if you think about these channels because YouTube is something it's a visual we're watching uh on the audio version of the podcast which we use well we can talk about that too which platform on uh which platform do we Syndicate through so we we Syndicate through a platform called Lipson okay there's another one called anchor I believe which is probably the two primary those yeah I think are the two biggest podcast Distributing platforms and when you say Distributing what does that do so when you when you get an audio version and you got the audio clip how do you do it to make sure it shows up on Spotify and apple podcast and all that so we'll we'll record we'll cut we'll edit and then I'll upload the content the audio content anyway to one place from that place it is a Distribution Hub just just like any other distribution thing it will go to Spotify it will go to Apple music it will go to any place that you can find podcasts so then I'm not posting 45 times for one episode I can put it in one place it gets to all of the reaches of audience that we needed to get to and you run from there and it's interesting because it shows up on places that we would have never thought about like there's there's people listening to Pandora radio and our podcast is on there MH you can listen to Alexa and Amazon and ask for our podcast and it will play on their streaming platform it's crazy because of the syndication through libson how long does it take to upload an episode the audio episode like what just the actual uploading go uploading it Go minutes minutes so once you're set up you literally upload the audio file and within minutes it's syndicated so what else do they need in order to make that work they need a thumbnail graphices yeah yeah so you you'll need a thumbnail cuz you just want to make sure it stands out things without thumbnails they just don't get clicked cuz you don't know what it is you have no visual representation of what you're walking into uh now like with a platform like Lipson as well even if you don't generate a episode specific thumbnail we also have an Li generic thumbnail that will go to that way it's not just popping up you know episode one random podcast you know it's got a little bit more of a visual aspect to it but then from there get yourself a little bit of description kind of show notes just a five six lines this is what I'm here for this is what I'm hoping to bring but then from there it just it throws it to an audience that's so much bigger than you can really comprehend and when you start there's eight people that will listen and watch yeah get used to it like that's part of the process consistency is the key right yeah is the key um it's interesting because people think well that's a lot you guys just said a lot I've got to record something I got to upload an audio file and I don't know how to do all that well guess what we know how reach out to us reach out to us yeah you're probably going to pay a little money but it will be worth it and we can direct you to the vas that can get you set up with consistency we can direct you to some structures and systems that you can put in place because most of the things that you would need done can be done on a very part-time basis by someone who knows what they're doing and it's a small simple contract that you set up with them so as someone who's trying to grow their business and generate leads it's not all going to be free you are going to have to invest in someone who can help you become the brand and tell your story but it's very very affordable cuz someone managing uploading your audio file to libson and making sure the thumbnail is produced and it looks good they'll send you an approval does this look good you go that looks great and then the next morning your podcast is up and it's released and you sound like a pro oh by the way do they need a setup like this to start a podcast no what do they need honestly what do they need you can start with a phone you can start with a phone there's audio recorders that you can go to the phone how many social media speaking of social media how many social media videos have you seen someone holding a phone like this with a camera over there and they're just using it as a microphone or they're holding just a little mic that's plugged into the phone or a little mic and they're holding a little tiny mic that's just that's plugged into their dang phone you could do it as simple as that um you could upgrade a little bit and uh buy uh what's the brand of the the microphones we use for are they raspberry uh they're called raspberry oh the blue the yetis blue yetis so any USB microphone is going to immediately up your production value quality it's like anything you can spend as little or as much money as you want these guys won't let me buy $10,000 microphones cuz I don't know it's it's not in the budget but but it's it's it's like anything it's it's it's as big or as small as you want to make it so we start we started with a Blue Yeti we did and that blue yeti is less than 200 bucks mhm for one you can get I think as cheap as 50 60 bucks and you plug them straight into your computer yep USB so you don't need you don't need an audio interface you don't need an understanding of how digital audio workstation work and that workflow it's and you literally buy yourself a ring light stand from Amazon that holds your phone you press your phone on record you turn on the light you talk into your Yeti it goes into your computer you record the file you now have a video content piece and you have an audio content piece you send that to your VA they make you look amazing they put in the captions and all of a sudden you're an internet celebrity boom right like it's as easy as that um scaling through for clients is one thing um we talked a little bit transitioned over into growing a business scaling for business growth how have you guys seen it on that on that part um scaling for business growth yeah like growing an agency uh well one you know communicating who your company is who they are what their about their beliefs their values uh what the culture is the community just like uh it's no different than people searching on YouTube and seeing the thumbnail as Adam says they want to see what they're getting into uh you can almost have them experience your your company their culture their values uh their comp programs it's it's the same thing is is letting somebody have a window they can Window Shop without them ever having to have an initial interview or a recruiting thing and it becomes a natural way for them to just come to you and join you and want to be a part of something um without the traditional hey you're looking for an opportunity or all the messages you get inside of LinkedIn right um which is really cool because it's a natural organic way of doing it by just displaying what what you're about yeah exactly who you are and usually a lot of those people are teaching principles of how to be successful in sales right like things to think about when you're dealing with clients how to be more effective how to close more like how to how to hit certain benchmarks I think about a Roman Koval Roman Koval uh he and his partner Gilbert Lopez came to us I don't know six eight months ago and said hey can you help us grow and scale your agency uh our agency one of the first things we recommended was to get on some regular social media content so if you look them up on Instagram Roman Koval k l and Gilbert Lopez look them up on Instagram and you'll start seeing their content they're putting putting it out daily people are finding it they're attracting and they're actually teaching how to be successful in t sales for final expense M that's a great attraction model um there's um there's so Jason RoR has a brand he called it The Savvy producer he's got a YouTube channel he does social content he's got a brand that goes behind that he's got some courses and that's been an attraction model for him you can look him up Savvy producer I forget how to spell Savvy but is it two v's or two A's I forget which one it is um and or you can look up Jason RoR and get connected that way so these guys are teaching not principles on what the insurance does for the consumer but they're teaching on how to be successful in selling right and it's same process they're just teaching a little bit of a different content piece and that brings value to back to them and usually the people who are jumping in or getting connected are pretty solid culture matches M because they will they will say I uh I connected with with this person and I saw I I could see how they could help me you know versus uh any other weird conversations that could happen it's just the fit in most cases pretty cool yeah I see Cody Askins does a lot of uh engaging pieces with uh BigTime agents or agency Builders where he'll do uh collaborative exposure plans marketing plans for them and they'll do interviews and they talk about their platform and it really helps them grow and scale their business like there's so many ways that you can enter this space I think the key is get started um we didn't have Adam when we started uh we had Austin and Austin helped us get the thing off the ground Adam came behind and put YouTube behind the podcast and now it's become what it is gets 50 to 60,000 downloads a month on audio I don't know how many views we're getting now a month about the same right around that 50,000 mark on YouTube on YouTube video so that's catching up and probably will surpass at some point here but that's an amazing exposure platform and all we've done is just be consistent once a week and talk about what we no and bring value bring value that's it and if you want to be one of those people you want to collaborate with us and you're already doing some of that and reach out let's talk you know how to get a hold of us how do they get a hold of you Adam it's gonna be right here boom there you go closing thoughts magic man who's got the closing thoughts all right I'm the one's doing this that's that's your closing thought that's the signal uh no we uh our goal is to to be different makers uh culturally Adam you've been a great fit man uh we appreciate all the work that you do uh I doubt this is going to be the only podcast you're on we'll probably see you again yeah we'll see you again obviously but we will see they will see you again um and I think there's more value uh that they're even aware of that you're capable of bringing to them so go ahead yeah uh so we're looking forward to give you more opportunities I have one closing thought if you're interested in starting a podcast add a might be interested in Consulting you on how to actually do that there's a thought reach out we'll see how it goes he can help you all right we'll see you on the next episode of The Life Insurance Academy podcast
