hey guys it's Danny now I'm pretty sure that any of you that think you don't like Brussels sprouts has never tried them roasted they get tender on the inside crispy on the outside and they're so flavorful so for this how-to we are roasting Brussels sprouts so I washed my Brussels sprouts under some cold water gave them a good rinse then I was sure to dry them off really well if you don't dry them they're going to end up steaming instead of roasting so you have to make sure you get them good and dry trim off the end and then slice it down the middle lengthwise you want to do that so you get through all your Brussels sprouts then get them into a nice big bowl and for every pound of Brussels sprouts you're going to drizzle one teaspoon of olive oil 1/2 a teaspoon of kosher salt some fresh black pepper and half a teaspoon of garlic powder then get your hands in there and just toss everything together you want to make sure you get a nice light coating of the oil all over all of those Brussels sprouts then just pour them all out onto a rimmed baking sheet and I like to make sure they're all cut side down this way the cut side gets caramelized and the tops get nice and crispy then we're just going to pop this into a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes after they're halfway done which will be at 15 minutes I like to take them out and give them a good shake you don't want to actually flip any of them over just shake them around a bit and get them moving then pop them back in finish them for the second 15 minutes now if you have anyone in your life that is not a veggie lover roasting the veggies is a great way to get them more excited about vegetables because it reduces the sugars down and it caramelizes the vegetables making them really sweet and flavorful and it turns non veggie lovers into lifetime fans check out some of the videos I have over here if you're looking for other ideas for roasted vegetables mmm now this is exactly what we're looking for they look like they're really well done on the outside but it's just those outer leaves that get really bright and crispy crunchy almost like a potato chip then when you flip them over you'll see the bottoms are all caramelized and then I like to just finish them off with one more little kiss of kosher salt right over the top [Music] tender in the middle crispy crunchy salty on the outside these are sure to turn anybody into a Brussels sprout leva for more simple and nutritious recipes tips and ideas be sure you come on over to clean and delicious calm where you can print all the recipes save your favorites right to your very own personal recipe box and subscribe to my newsletter thanks so much for watching i'm danny Spees and i'll see you next time with another how-to [Music] tendrĂ¡ in the middle crispy crunchy salty on the outside this will take any Barroso lover
