My iPad is locked, I don't know the passcode so i'm trying
to erase it and start over, but how? I want to erase everything from my old iPad before selling it, but it's asking for the Apple ID which I forgot, so what's next? People run into these two situations from time to time. In this video we'll show you how to erase your iPad without using the passcode and Apple ID, and then bypass the Activation Lock in the setup process. Let's get started! We'll do the erasing with iTunes, so once open it, connect your iPad to the computer, For lock screen, iPad will tell you to enter the passcode, for Apple ID, if you tap on Restore iPad, it'll tell you find my must be turned off, which of course requires the credentials as well, so in each case we need to put the iPad into Recovery mode first For one with home button, is press and hold the power and home button simultaneously till you see the connect to computer icon, then iTunes should detect it and suggest an update or restore, we are going with the restore, Then hit Restore and Update to confirm, and agree to the terms and conditions, it'll be downloading the firmware first, then your iPad will go through the restore process. As a side note if you have difficulty using iTunes, ReiBoot will make a nice alternative, all you need to do is head to factory reset iPhone option in the menu, then proceed to repair, so once the restore has completed, your iPad will give you the Hello screen, while iTunes showing the Activation Lock asking for the Apple ID yet again, Let's get back to the iPad and set it up. After connecting to a network iPad will show the same Activation Lock as iTunes, If you have enabled Two-step verification, you'll see the unlock with passcode option right here, if you still remember it then you are lucky enough to
activate your iPad simply with the passcode, just like this: but if you forgot it, not to worry here is how to bypass this
with a tool called 4MeKey. You'll find the link in the description below if you'd like to download, so once installed, attach your iPad to the computer then proceed with the blue buttons till you get here, it's suggesting a jailbreak with a link to the tutorial a step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iOS device on windows. Let's give it a sho! First download the two jailbreak tools, Once done, open rufus, then insert an empty usb thumb drive now go back to rufus and select the Checkra1n ISO file, now we can start creating the bootable drive, make sure to choose the Write in DD image mode, then hit ok for each pop-ups, Once done, restart the computer, when it boots, up hit the F12 key to enter the boot options, now select the usb storage device, press enter to confirm, now select the usb storage device, press enter to confirm, Make sure your iPad is still connected at this point,
then you should see the device information right here, go ahead and hit start. The device will be put in recovery mode first, hit next to confirm. [Music] Once we are in recovery mode, click start, then quickly follow the instructions to enter DFU mode before the countdown is over. For an iPad with home button is press and hold both the power and home button
for four seconds, then release the power button while continue holding the home button
for another 10 seconds, In DFU mode, the jailbreak process will be reflected on the device. [Music] Well done, now we are going to restart the computer, and then launch 4MeKey to start over, Like before we click on each of the blue buttons, this time we should see the device
information screen below it is the start remove button by by clicking on it, 4MeKey will do the trick for you in seconds, Well done, now it says the iCloud Activation Lock has been removed successfully. Let's check it out! When we see the data and privacy option, we know
the Activation Lock is no longer ahead our way, Let's move on, when we got to the Apple ID sign in option make sure
