this video is of me replacing a vanity in a small bathroom for all my jobs there's a budget a scope of work that scope of work lines out exactly how i'm going to do it and what materials are going to be used the budget dictated the way i went about installing this and it's very common to have to do what i had to do with this vanity to get it to work right so leave your comments below and give this video a thumbs up if you like this tool vest i'm finally doing a one-year review on this tool vest where i got it how it's held up and what tools i i keep in it so look for that video tomorrow today i'm going to film another simple well-paying handyman project as kind of a follow-up to that plaster wall repair that got quite a bit of attention as far as my method of pricing this is a hundred and fifteen year old four plex two units on the bottom two units on the top um it's in a an area of town that used to be kind of ghetto but now it's extremely uh expensive they rent for around 2000 a month which isn't bad but you don't get a yard you get one little garage that your car won't fit in so uh oh so foreign [Music] [Music] do the epoxy is all cured on the sink and the countertop and it's time to set it on this this cabinet thing is in a 100 plus year old house the floors and walls are really really out of plum and out of level so this is where where i'm at is i've got these little adjustment feet that came with it and this one's maxed out and that one back there is completely removed and i actually have it level but i obviously cannot leave these big giant shims um just that's not how it how it works so i'm thinking i may cut this off the plastic foot there and glue it to the bottom of that plastic foot this is the same epoxy i used to glue the um cracks in this to glue the um sink to the uh the countertop that's what i'm trying to say five minute epoxy one to one mix super glue is probably the best pro best type of glue for this little gluing project here but i don't have any with me giving these wingnuts just an extra a little bit of a twist okay [Music] hopefully you can get a good view here everything's snug down and the next step is i mean i don't really know what to say about this design this is really close so i'm going to have to twist this just a little bit like this and have this one loop into here and this one loop into the other side something like that okay back into the bathroom when my little extra thick foot has dried up or cured as you can see when you're talking about epoxy [Music] i'm getting ready to bring in the countertop and sink before i do that i got to take everything off that's metal porcelain and i even think that marble will scratch it's not really a scratch though it's like a pencil mark so if you take like this titanium tool here or my keys or the titanium on my watch and just go like that across porcelain and a lot of uh stones it basically makes a pencil mark it's it's a weird chemical burn you can polish it out but i'd rather not have to spend time doing that so i'm gonna take all this stuff off while i bring it in here and finish up looks pretty nice that looks real nice important thing there's several ways to do this now one way is you put a 2x4 across here when the drain isn't in there you take apart um a clamp and you stick one part up through through the hole and you clamp it down it's kind of hard to describe without seeing video but that is it this little it's weird this whole nice kit and there's this cheap little plastic little mercedes-benz discussion on the drain hole oh well we are under the cabinet and i'm on to my last hurdle before this gets real easy i've got to connect the drain we have inch and a quarter which is standard bathroom plumbing but we have inch and a half so i'll get to how i convert that it's it's pretty simple it's not like it takes anything special now this here came with it this is all part of the faucet kit it's got its little plastic gasket in there [Music] and this goes like that we'll we'll hook up the little stopper here later gotta get this mess on here so the first thing i'll do is take this off of the old p-trap this black abs it doesn't wear out um it doesn't let smells out it can get dirty i've already cleaned it off outside mostly clean it off but i think fingers crossed i won't have to get anything i do carry quite a bit of plumbing supplies on my trailer and this should all go together plug your ears [Music] moving right along stinky this fits right up in there it's gonna be oh yeah oh yeah we'll snug this down a little bit still have to modify the drawer here we got the drawer on the drawer slides and that's as far as it goes and i will mark it out i don't know if you guys can see that using this access hole right there this is the back i can just mark what needs to be notched out and cut it [Laughter] uh as i'm running this thing i'm getting some weird low flowage to no flowage out of this okay huh bathroom actually looks pretty darn good kind of like the wood around the frame there i think next is the light fixture they're not having to do that yet they don't have one picked out they may reuse that one and just slide it over who's in my seat this is slowly turning into my frankenstein wood stove just got the blower hooked up and got nice warm air hot air blowing out both those this hole here and that hole there the duct work goes in up and out so the job that you just watched me do is a nice pretty easy handyman job i'm going to try to get some of the most commonly asked questions that i get out of the way on this outro first was a first question i get asked is how much did i charge and why i need to follow up with a why um it was 500 i probably could have gotten [Music] eight to nine hundred dollars on a different customer when i gave the estimate and you know you gotta feel them out you gotta figure out what value they're placing on this project and it was 500 bucks uh they happily said yes um what's another question oh um why didn't i move the plumbing inside the wall the budget would have increased significantly if i had to cut into the wall and move the drain and move this uh the cold water supply line and this was a simple solution that she's very happy with whenever i do a job the most important thing is clear expectations that the customer knows what they're getting and you know what you're giving them for a certain dollar amount that's the key to a perfect job is setting clear expectations exceeding those expectations as i always try to do i always throw in something a little bit uh extra that they may or may not notice but it does ensure that they are getting that extra value because they're getting something that they didn't really plan on there's any questions leave them in the comment section below and give this video a thumbs up
