well hey there folks it's a pretty noisy day out here today but hopefully you can hear me check out the little bead trying to get water there um so my parts came for this uh prior anti-freeze uh water spigot here so you can see we got a new handle we have a whole new stem in there a new front pad actually all new packings and a new anti-siphon deal there so let me show you what's going on with this first of all if you need any parts for a faucet like this there's where you need to go complete plumbingsource.com this is who the manufacturer recommended and from ordering this i had this within three days across the country okay so here's the old rod here now you do have to measure these because they're they have several different models several different lengths it's not a one size fits all guys so this is what happened to mine these threads down here that allow you to turn it on and off actually wore down and stripped just the material is not there anymore it wasn't a matter of the seal here it was a matter of these threads it's not catching and just spinning loosely in there boy sorry it's so windy out here so this is my part number like i say yours very likely will be different so i ordered two of these so you can see here the threads there's actually a lot more of them [Music] i don't want to open this one up but you can see that one's worn down those are a lot more see they're not rounded or square so this was a problem on mine but see it's the same same size okay so i also ordered two of these because i have two faucets so i have a i have a spare here like i say yours will probably be a different kit there's a new i believe that's a new teflon packing there i believe that's what that's made out of there's a new handle there's a new cap for the anti-siphon dill there's the anti-siphon thing there there's the uh stainless washer that goes in front of that packing there's a new rubber boot right there which is this right here and that little deal with the screw on it is the new seal at the end so this kit works for me [Music] there's the tools you're going to need right there or you can use an adjustable wrench those work for me right there phillips screwdriver and a slip joint pliers channel locks okay so this right here goes all the way in the wall and it turns on and off down here you folks from the south might not be familiar with these i wasn't until i moved up north but the water turns off up here this valve allows the water to drain out of here so it's a freeze-free faucet and won't freeze in the wintertime so to get this out take your phillips screw out the handle comes right off put your adjustable wrench channel locks whatever you want to use on this nut right here this particular one is regular thread so counterclockwise to loosen it some of the newer ones are are reverse thread so be careful this isn't this style is regular thread so remove this and this this piece will come right off and inside of there's your packing your stainless steel washer once you have that off you can pull this right out you just have to loosen it all the way like water's flowing at full pressure so the threads aren't caught it'll slide right out once that's out of there you can take your new one put it right back in there turn it in so it catches put your new stainless steel washer on this is where that stainless steel washer to go that's the old one but you put a new one on there and then your packing goes inside of this nut right here only goes in one way pretty self-explanatory the package tells you and then you put this back on tighten it i wouldn't make it super tight just make it snug and then maybe go like another quarter to half a turn um you may want to check on that that's what i did it worked for me and you can put your new handle on your new screw and then after that we can just put our new um i guess it's an anti-siphon valve there or drain valve whatever you want to call it what i found with these is even when you put a new one on this is just a cap it comes right off but it'll still they still tend to leak a little bit here so i just used a little bit of gray automotive rtv silicone on the threads put it on there wait about 20 minutes turn the water back on it will not leak and pop your cap on and you are good to go and now we have a working freeze-free faucet again and i don't have to tear up my drywall to fix it so on mine once again the thread just simply wore out i don't know if it was because somebody let me try to zoom in here or try to clear this up i should say it's not very clear i don't know why here let me do this one okay i'm not sure if someone over torqued it well i'm pretty sure my son did but you know they can wear out you don't want to you know you just want to turn it off till it stops you don't want to keep going because that'll happen but yours may be leaking when you turn it off because the seal could be bad so that's a possibility or it could be leaking out of this end the water could be turned off and it won't be coming out of the hose because this seals good but on this end um it can be leaking when the when the hose is turned on you know out of this because the packing can be bad but anyway this kit i bought these these two parts took care of everything cost 97 bucks shipped to my door with uh two kits and uh seems like a lot of money but to me it was all worth it because i didn't have to rip into my drywall and it definitely works alright thanks for watching
