i buy this stuff myself i give it honest reviews any joe blow can do this in the garage i'm not a fancy detailer or anything this isn't given to me so i don't have to be nice if the product sucks i'll tell you it sucks and if it's good i'll recommend it you can try it out on your own car everybody welcome back thanks for checking out another video again today i found a little scratch on the car while i was washing it nothing major but just has to be dealt with so in today's video we're going to go over seeing if we can remove the scratch i know ford's paint kind of sucks i've had a video in the past just how garbage the paint is but this should work on any vehicle so if you're watching this you don't necessarily have to own a mustang like i do it will work on any vehicle because it's more of a product review than a way to fix your ford so hopefully this helps you out if you're new to the channel make sure give us a thumbs up and subscribe go back check out all the videos and if this helps you out and it works or you got any questions or concerns like always leave a comment and i will get back to you in there all right so first thing first what i'll show you is what we're dealing with here and don't ask me how it happens but i always managed to get rock chips and scratches and stuff on the roof of the car so today what we're going to be doing is trying to fix this little guy here it's not much of a scratch but when you wash it you can definitely see it stands out that's how i noticed it i have a golden retriever at first i thought maybe it was the dog hair sitting on there but no such luck little scratch so we'll see what we can do you can see obviously the car is filthy i did wash this yesterday this is black car problems right here this time of year we get a little bit of rain and then it heats up we get a little bit of rain then it's sunny and the dust just likes to settle and stick onto everything the car is ceramic coated so you know you can just spray her down it'll wash away but for now she's filthy so before we get into anything to do with fixing the scratch we're going to grab our detail spray spray the roof down wipe it all off because you don't want to have any of that on there while you're rubbing away because you're going to make your life worse than better and yeah you can either get a detail spray or you can just wash the whole car down right now i'm not having time to wash the whole car so i'll spray down that spot and then we'll go over what we're going to use and see how she works and if you guys are wondering i did do a video on this stuff before the detail spray i use because it is ceramic coated i got the mcguire's ceramic detailer here it works awesome spray it down give it a good wipe and she looks good as new okay so i cleaned just the one area you can see the scratches right here one thing i want to note is that obviously say you piss somebody off and they come and key your car and this scratch is right down to the paint took the or right down to the primer i mean what we're using today obviously will not work because there's no such thing as a miracle cream that will repaint your vehicle so the way to check that out you can see how the scratch is there if i grab my detailer spray or water or anything i just have this on hand if you spray it you can see how it kind of disappears i know it's hard to see with the spray like that but it kind of almost gets filled in just by the liquid here and then when we wipe it you might be able to see a little better when i give it just a light wipe so i don't wipe it all off you can see the scratch almost disappears completely just with the liquid in there so that tells you that the scratch is only in the clear coat which means if you get a good scratch remover or you got a buffer wheel or whatever you can go and get a detailed run it over you'll most likely be able to get the scratch out completely and then as you can see if i just wipe it here and dry her off it starts to come back right away so that tells you you're good to go you're not right down through the paint it is just clear coat scratch and you should be able to fix it right up all right so what we're going to use to actually deal with the scratch is this stuff i picked it up you can see a mcguire scratch x 2.0 says find scratch and blemish remover it did have some good reviews on youtube that's why i'm figuring i'll try it out myself but as all my videos are i buy this stuff myself i give it honest reviews any joe blow can do this in the garage i'm not a fancy detailer or anything this isn't given to me so i don't have to be nice if the product sucks i'll tell you it sucks and if it's good i'll recommend it and you can try it out on your own car so all it says is shake well apply either to a microfiber cloth if you have that or if you got the buffer wheel a d a polisher or something like that same thing just put a little bit on a new pad make sure the surface is all clean like we did and just back and forth apply as needed repeat the steps if you're not happy with it i've obviously like any kind of detailing stuff like this the more you do it the better results you'll probably get so let's get her on there and see what she can do okay so i do have a da polisher but i figure most people that are looking at this are probably going to want to do it by hand not everybody has the polisher so we're just going to use microfiber cloth nothing fancy grab your scratch remover give it a good shake mix it all up as best you can then what we're gonna do try not to spill it everywhere we're just gonna put a little blob on the end that might even be too much but we'll see put that aside and we're just going to rub it into the scratch now what you want to do any scratch remover doesn't matter if it's just this one or anything you don't want to rub it this way along with the scratch because that's not going to be as effective you actually want to go back and forth across the scratch so it kind of pulls it and fills in the scratch from either side so all it says on the instructions dab it on like that a little dry spot i put way too much as you can see but just take this and we'll rub her back and forth don't put a crazy amount of pressure you're not trying to scrape right through the roof but just back and forth like this i'm going just slightly on an angle not straight across just a bit of an angle and we'll just keep going back and forth here and like any polish you want to just keep going until it kind of starts to go clear you can see it is starting to clear up so we'll keep going for a couple seconds here wipe it off and see if it did anything all right so this is the first layer i scrubbed it down for about two minutes wiped it off you can see it is still slightly there you can see it here but it's definitely better than it was from the start if you go back here even standing here you can't see it so what i'm going to do is i'm gonna give her one more go i'll put a little bit not as much as i put on there last time but i'll give a little blob on there give her one more go and then we'll see how she looks after that all right here you go guys second layer done you can see i cleaned the whole roof off reason for that is a lot of these so-called scratch removers are just a lot of filler so you know it might look like oh my scratch is gone as soon as you wash the car or it gets wet the filler comes out and voila your scratch is right back so i figured go over this i sprayed her down scrubbed down the whole top here looks good as new as you can see the scratch is still slightly there it actually picks up in the gopro here better than it does in person but definitely better than it was it was not like it filled it completely in so i'd say it's not obviously there's some sort of filler in there but it's not horrible and it won't wash off right away at least so you can see back here she's almost gone and where i'm standing i can't even see it from here so i definitely give it you know eight out of ten worth it it's really cheap the nice thing with mcguire stuff is you can get it anywhere i actually picked this stuff up at walmart so i would say you're good to go as long as the scratch is not too crazy not too deep i know if you scratch your paint and you can feel it on your fingernail it's probably too much this was more like a i don't know maybe a stick blue from the we've got a pretty windy day here the other day maybe a stick flew across the car something like that ford paint you know how it is so if you got any vehicle really i'd say pick this stuff up if you ever find just a little blemish like that you can obviously do it yourself and unfortunately if it's a deeper scratch or anything like that you obviously gotta go and get it repaired some detailers they can cut it down with some compound and polish and redo it all and get better results maybe but for me as long as it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb like i said you stay back here all the different lighting and everything you can't really even see that anymore so i'm happy with it nice and quick easy thing took about five minutes and like i said gave her a wash down we're still good to go so it's not totally just filled in and hopefully we don't end up with any more scratches on the car so there you go guys that's it not horrible not the best obviously it's not going to give you factory paint back but nothing will there's no miracle i know you see a lot of these sprays detail sprays this and that like a miracle cream basically there's no such thing this one got pretty good reviews so i figured i'd try it there are a few different kinds as well and i'm sure if i hit it with the actual polisher maybe we'll see how it looks in a few days i'll hit it with that and see how it works but i'm happy with the results eight out of ten obviously not perfect but not useless either it's not like you're just rubbing stuff on a scratch it did actually clear it up a little bit and that is only with the two passes like i said so i'm sure if i went over it a couple more times i'd get it out a little bit better but for now i'm happy with it we're gonna wipe down the rest of the car with our spray now because she's looking disgusting but hopefully you enjoyed this let me know if it helped you out let me know if you've tested this stuff before maybe i was doing something wrong and i don't know about it so thumbs up subscribe let me know what you think in the comments hopefully we'll catch you guys in the next video and thanks for watching everybody
