How to Remove a Rounded Bolt or a Broken Bolt in a deep hole

hey how's it going guys today I'm gonna show you that of five ways to remove rounded nuts and balls fast and easy if you have in the situation like this you start working on something you could remove old and then you run it off for even worse it's not the head of the boat well it's not fun situation but don't want something like this make you scratch to hold because I'm gonna show you how to remove a rounded ball like this and also how to extract the ball if you break it off while you try to avoid now that's enough talking let's begin and we begin with two 10 millimeter ranges one is a six point range and the other one is a two point range and now I'm gonna use a tool point range to tighten up a 10 millimeter bolt until the range starts slipping and running off the road and the range is living but if we now use the six point range we can still turn the board without slipping the reason is the six point range nuts bolt from all six sides compared to the twelve point range it can smack the bolt only on the corners so the six point range has to deform more material than the twelve point range to run off the ball which requires more force and that means you can put more leverage in a bolt with a 6.0 range then you can with the tool point range so when you're removable we have better chance of removing the board with that rounding it off if you use a six point wrench to the range but with an extractor socket you just stab the socket on the bolt then you turn it and [Music] ball this comes right out then you tap the bolt add with a punch and out comes the rounded bolt as you can see the teeth inside the socket cut into the board as you tail and clamp on to a real tight so the ball came right out and the best thing is that these sockets have a hex design to it so you can use this view range at slope great reason Titus parts but if you have clearance issues with the hex then they also come in without the hex design as well they also come in low-profile sockets and deep sockets and if you don't want to buy a complete set you can buy them in individual sizes as well now with this spiral teeth inside the socket sometimes they can cut into the balls so way to remove rounded bolts which is using wood extract arranges these extract ranges have the same teeth setup as this expects sockets so I'm gonna run off another bolt here and now we can remove it with a normal range at all now let's see what happen if you use the extractor ranges now that's what I'm talking about as you can see the teeth are digging into the balls so tight and the bolt is coming right out now when you're using these sockets and ranges you gotta have them in every single size because you never know the size of the ball that's going on off on you and that brings us unto my third way to remove rounded bolts which is using adjustable pliers these pliers have adjustable josei can use these on any ball size you need and the best thing is that this jaws have very sharp a person teeth honorable sir on a rounded toward the top your digs in this direction and the bottom of your digs in this direction so this jaws can get a lot of grip on the boat when I say a lot I mean a lot and that is the Toni s old rusty rotted ball core an exhaust manifold removed with pliers no problems at all my fault wait remove rod bolts is to use impact on the ball for this you need a hammer and a cold chisel what do you do is to get your chisel and even a hammer into the ball until the chisel cut into the ball once you get a good cut do you angle the chisel and start working until you break the bolt loose like that and now you can do nothing until you grab the bolt out and out comes around bolt and if you can use an air hammer then you can do this a lot quicker now if the ball is difficult to get you like it is all the way down and your chisel is not long enough to reach out to the bolt then you can use a screwdriver like this this is a striking cap screwdriver so I can hit this is the hammer and still put a good amount of impact on the ball to get the bolt out speaking of impact my fifth way to remove rounded balls is to use an impact driver this is a very inexpensive and very handy tool to have with the tool we give some bits Phillips heads flat heads and also an adapter for the bits how this tool work is you attach the adapter to the tool then probably any if you're removing a screw or just put a socket if you're removing a bolt then press the tool to the left which is the loosening direction place the tip on the fast and you're going to remove and then you whack it with the hammer and it is loose now to use this on a rounded bolt first you get it useful and hammer it into the boat the idea is to get a good cut across the book like that then you insert the flat bit into the impact driver you give it a few whacks [Music] and out comes the round boat this is a good way to remove erotic board if you can only access the rules from the top and you your drill bit doesn't go all over the place then you drill into the boat like that then insert the extractor tap it in then you turn the extractor with the range and out comes a broken bulb all right now the board has come out far enough so angry I see a pair of pliers to get it out the rest of the way [Applause] these extractors are real handy and if you want you can get these in smaller sizes as well now if you can't get a good grip on the broken bolt with the spiral type extractors then you had to use square shaft extractors so just like it before you drill into the bowl tap the extractor in under the bolt and you're done all right next two more rounded nuts removing an ordered nut it's very similar to moving around at all so these six tractor circuits extract ranges adjustable pliers and
