How to Rekey a Lock and master it

hello is just a maintenance man I've got a quick set lock I've got a live kit here pens we're gonna wreak a lot let's do it instructions all right we need this this is how to do the quick set kyani the keys little easier doing it for the keys actually don't need the key but I'm just gonna use the keys that came with it I'll show you why I don't need the keys all right Nietzsche it's easier because the key fits in there it turns and you can just take out the cylinder but I never trust these things so what I do and this is and this is not necessary but I take the Bible off let's just call the Bible right here got a keeper I think is you got the springs in there what I do some of these have anti picked pens in them and I can't stand an anti pick pens I just take all the pins out and start over this one actually um there we go take that one off Thunder falls off the cylinder but whatever cylinders winder so so the next thing they do put plug follower in it this is so the pins won't drop out and I need the top pins which they a pretty square you can you can tell what the top pens are oh gosh darn it come on my goodness yeah all right so this one didn't having anti pick pens or any other type of pens in it and sometimes there's a number one pen that is in this little slot right here I don't know what that's for either I'm gonna need a note basis and I don't even know it no not for what I'm doing maybe if I was an actual locksmith then I need to know so then I put the Bible back on top of the springs there we go and that's smooth okay leave that there we're gonna do let me go over here and grab a boogie board and do the aisle master here five four two four two makes a little easier and we're are getting those numbers from is from our master key so we're mastering this so if I wanted to key this all have to do is actually just key it to one key and go five this is a little gauge here that that shows like five that's three that to two so it's five three two five three two so we're going to write five three two on the board - okay and then six six six six now you're gonna have to use your elementary math skills here so what we just did we measured this key and we already have measured our master key so we put the master key there and it doesn't matter what order you you can put this one on top or whatever okay so the first thing you're going to do is circle all the low-low numbers which one is which number is lower than that number and if it's like this five and five then you just circle one of the fives three is lower than four two and two four is lower than six and two is lower than six these are gonna be your first set of 10 numbers so okay so what we do is we grab the Penta numbers for these ones that are circled so to be five and it's going from here to here so if you imagine just five the next one is 3 - 4 - the next one is 3 which is that too for and to okay now for our master pendants what we're gonna do is subtract this so we're not gonna put a pin there I'm gonna put a number one nope in there four six two two six four there's your basic math so now Master pens are gonna be these ones here on the top easy little ones yeah okay so zero in the first one these are so tiny I literally just stick to your finger there's your time so there's one and then zero for this one and then a 2 and a 4 there's a two okay now if you did everything right you're gonna put this sideways see where the Bible is you don't want to go in this way you want to go sideways this like that I don't know if y'all saw that but it's one quick Swift motion so now this key should work and it does this but I'm going to put this on here this is gonna screw something up I'm just putting a snap ring back on and then I'm gonna use one of my keys to step which would be my master key this goes to all the apartments this key should work also I'm gonna does like a champ so this is now mastered to two keys resonant gets this key and all the employees that have a master key like maintenance and security that's how that's their key so I can just use - my master key to get into this when we give the resident this lock install it it's already mastered and ready to go for him that's how to master a quick set lock I hope you guys learn something from that and just the maintenance man saying have a great day
