in this video i'll show you how to redact texts from a pdf using adobe robot pro dc welcome to this video my name is david and i hope you're well wherever you are around the world the reason why you may want to redact text from a pdf is because you want to protect sensitive information it's purely that and it's pretty simple inside adobe robot dc now you'll need to go to the tools right here this section and then scroll down to the bottom where you'll see the option to protect and standardize then there is the option to reduct click on it and once you click on it there's this new menu here where you can reduce text and images you can see the drop down find and reduce text if this specific text that you want to reduce and then you can check out the properties you can check the properties to see the color that you want to use overlay text whatever options that you want inside here but we're not going to concentrate on that all we're going to do in this particular document with our mouse in a plus sign is select the sections that we want to reduce for example let's say we want to reduce these sections where i'm showing a couple of and i hope that this particular pdf shows or answers these particular questions all you need to do is just make your selection and once you make your selection let go once you let go you'll see these lines and if you hover over that you'll see the black text coming if you're satisfied with your results then what you're going to do you're going to come to the apply option click on apply and once you apply you'll see that this will permanently remove the reducted information from this document once you save this document you won't be able to retrieve the deducted information your document might contain hidden data and metadata do you wish to remove them too sanitize and remove hidden information really depends on you just click ok so what happens is your pdf will be redacted but the option will not be complete until you save the document so a pop-up will prompt you to save the document and just click on save so what we have now is the redacted document and the original document has not been tampered with from our folder so that is how you can redact text from a pdf using adobe robot pro dc thanks for watching until next time stay safe and never stop learning
