Hey everybody this is Brad from Johnson's Small  Engines better known as the one hand mechanic   if I can do it you can too today we have here  a non-adjustable Tecumseh carburetor and it is   in pretty bad shape and we're gonna I'm gonna  show you how to rebuild it so the first thing   I want to do is show you the tools and the  parts that we're gonna need today on most   um most Tecumseh carburetors the ones that  are non-adjustable you're going to know that   they're non adjustable because they have the  they have a um a bolt here that's actually a   jet and there is no there's nothing to adjust  okay so that you can just tell by if you have a   carburetor it's not adjustable you're not going  to have a screw right here it's usually a brass   screw that you can adjust you're not going to  have that on on a non-adjustable carburetor   okay so the tools we need today from left to  right half inch wrench or a half inch socket   with a ratchet a small flathead screwdriver we  have a Tecumseh tool here that is I use it all   the time on all Tecumseh carburetors it's a very  nice tool to have it does a lot of different stuff   I will put a link in the description below if  you want to purchase that you can get them online   very easily that's the part number there it's  a Tecumseh 670377 it is a genuine Tecumseh part   a little small piece of wire for cleaning the  inside of the carburetor out a couple picks   however which way you go just something to clean  up the stuff to clean up the carburetor with a   T10 Torx may or may not be needed a couple three  different kinds of drill bits I use a five thirty   seconds and a nine sixty forth for putting the  needle seat in if you do not have the Tecumseh   um Tecumseh tool which is real nice the smaller  one can help take out the emulsion tube on the   inside of the carburetor and sometimes this this  is an allen wrench of five sixty fourths that   sometimes will help you get the emulsion tube out  as you'll see a pair of needle nose vice grips a   nice wire brush to clean stuff up with works well  and the carb cleaner is for you guys out there   that don't have an ultrasonic cleaner carb cleaner  will work once you get it all apart and then you   might need a flashlight I'm going to go ahead  and show you also the parts today that we need   over here is that this is a very popular carb kit  this will pretty much do all the carburetors on   Tecumseh non-adjustable carburetors from let's say  five horse all the way up to possibly ten horse   the part number and I'll put this also in the link  in the description below but the part numbers are   632760B again 632760B and this does so many of the  carburetors it comes with pretty much everything   you need other than the emulsion tube which are  these now the emulsion tube that I'm going to use   most likely should be this one and then they have  different color Emulsion tubes and these are all   genuine Tecumseh parts and basically you just  have to look up your parts on an online order   place that you can take your model number and  your spec number and you go in there to look up   your parts just to make sure you get the right  one some don't believe everything I have here   is going to work but this carburetor kit is it  will do most of the non-adjustable carburetors   so let's get to it all right so let's go ahead  and start taking this thing apart first you're   going to take the bottom nut off and that is  just a half inch ratchet a wrench if you have it now this is a jet this is your high speed jet  and it has a couple very small holes in it   there's one right here okay very small hole  there and there's a big hole in the bottom   all right so we're going to go ahead and we're  going to try to clean this out and I'll use   that very small wire now everybody has different  methods of cleaning their carburetors I found this   uh just a little piece of wire works great now  I'm trying to get to this little hole here and   all we're going to do is just make sure it's not  too big and you just want to poke it through there right now if you can see it through the other  side it's going to make it hard you can see that   in there okay so it's through and I'm not going to  go crazy I just want to poke it once now I'm also   going to throw this into an ultrasonic cleaner if  you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner carb cleaner   will definitely work on all the brass Parts you  got to be very careful when you get into this kit   and you have a needle valve that we have to put in  here all right so that's pretty much clean ready   to go into the carb cleaner all right this guy  here is he's gonna be really stuck sometimes okay   now as you can see by the ridge right here this is  just a lot of it's just bad gas or something that   went around the ridge it looks like somebody must  have had this thing loose at some point but we got   to clean that up and then also the gasket here  which is this black guy right here we're gonna   this is all gonna be replacing your kit so the  just take the gasket off and as you can see by the   yellowing on the table on the you know platform  here it's this is bad gas this is what it turns   into now when you look at your carburetor right  like this now between the carb base and the float   you can see how it maybe look it looks like it's a  little bit up right now and that could be because   of the this right here the float is sitting a  little high is what I'm saying and it should   probably be a little bit lower than that but that  means that the the seat the needle seat inside   here may actually have gotten a little bit fat so  we're going to replace that comes in this kit this   kit has everything we need also on the bottom  of your bowl here it actually left the gasket   this gasket here it's all going to be in the kit  and this is very nice feature you can drain your   bowl of your carburetor by pushing this up it's  a very nice feature to have the Ulta comes the   carburetors had it some of the newer ones don't  even have this anymore if you don't have it you   don't have to worry about them leaking but we also  need to take this there's a gasket underneath here   that we have to replace that is also in the kit  this is a little bit of a struggle for me to get   these off but I'll show you how I do it in a vise  and then you guys can figure it out on your own   but if I can do it you guys can do it all right  now we're going to go ahead and take the float   out which is just this guy right here usually  you can push these out probably should have said   you guys might need a pair of needle nose pliers  because sometimes these get stuck from corrosion   but if they're in decent shape they should  slide right out and then you have your float   it comes out with your Neo valve now just pay  attention to how that needle valve is sitting   because you're going to put the new one back on  that and basically I turn it upside down like that   and we're going to have a new needle valve which  is right there and what I do with the float if   it's corroded I'll put this in the Ultrasonic  Cleaner you can also clean this too but shake it   make sure you don't hear or feel any feel  inside it if you have the old brass ones   you can replace them with the plastic  one you do have to look up that part   okay this is good we're gonna put this off  to the side all of our old Parts I'm gonna   put off to the side now inside here right down  inside there that is where your emulsion tube   goes now there's two O-rings in there you can  see that now we have to get that out that can   be a little tricky to get out all right sometimes  you can use a small drill bit screw the drill bit   into it and pull it out I I tend to go through the  back side of the carburetor this is a little bit   depends on which side okay so you can see the top  inside there that little orange spot in there now   what I'm going to do to get that out is I'm  actually going to use our allen wrench here   and I'm going to just go in sometimes I have  to take off the uh the choke plate to do this   but I'm just going to try to push this through  from the top sometimes I can get it sometimes I   can't but if you can push that down from the top  even a flathead screwdriver let me try that real   quick sometimes a flathead screwdriver Works  a little better and you have to position your   you can either go through one side or the other try to push down tricky I'm going to   be this on camera because I'm just trying to push  the nozzle down and this nozzle is pretty stuck   so what I'm going to try to do here is we'll  try a small drill bit I'm going to try that   okay so I have myself here a small drill bit it's  just enough to so we can try to screw it into the   right into the center of it now remember it's  plastic now what I'm trying to do here is I'm   trying to get this to grab and usually you can do  with your fingers if you have to get yourself a   pair of vice grips or a pair of pliers to  screw that in there and go ahead and use   a pair of channel locks here little needle  nose pliers you know those channel locks and   I'm going to try to push it while I'm screwing it  in there just so it catches and then pull it out   and that actually grabbed a lot of threads but  it just got it's still jammed up in there so   we're gonna go ahead and do this again I might  have a neat I need a little bigger drill bit   you don't want to go too big because if it  presses against the outside of the carburetor   see if I can go ahead and push  this out now with my Allen head okay so worst case scenario I'm having  a hard time with this so what I'm going   to do is I'm going to take out this the  choke side I'm going to take the choke   lever out right here and you're going  to need a I think it's like a 10 Torx okay so this screwdriver is a T10 Torx and these are usually put in with Loctite   so you have to be very careful and they're  going to be really tight on the way out if you guys have a way to get that emulsion  tube out that's quicker let me know sometimes   it's usually not that bad for me I usually  I've been doing this a long time and uh that   was a little tricky today so just remember you  might have to look at the video but remember   how this goes in okay it sits just like that  and then you can pull this up out of the way   like so now as you can see  down deep down that throat   and then I can just push it out with a  flathead screwdriver this one is really stuck oh there it went that was really stuck now it's  still in there and I'm gonna try to put the   just gonna a pick will help you get this  out too but here we go all right so now   it's out now there's an o-ring on the  bottom there's supposed to be an o-ring   on top of that that O-ring is inside the  carburetor you must remember to get that   O-ring out so what I'm going to do is set  this off to the side we're going to get our   this is the uh the nice tool here it actually  has a little bit of a hook on the end of it   I'm going to go in there go all the way up  to the top we're going to go way up through   and drag it back down on the side and you'll  feel it you'll feel a little rubber o-ring   and you just have to get it to come out there it is right there that O-ring must come  out and you're going to have new ones in the kit   all right so that was the hardest part now we have  to turn to the side and you have your behind this   cover right here is your low idle this is your low  speed jet and normally a pick you can get a pick   in here and you don't have to worry about the cap  because you're going to take this out anyway and   I mean you're going to have a new one in the kit  the cap should come with the kit or the kit should   come with the cap all right see Cap's off and  then it's just a flathead screwdriver right here this is brass so you got to be careful now this also has a hole in the side of it there's  a hole in the end of it I'm also going to go ahead   before I put these in the Ultrasonic Cleaner  I'm going to go ahead and poke that with my   all right now that I'd use usually run it  around a little bit like so you should see   it come through it's a little bit hard but you  should be able to see that come through there   I'm trying to get you guys a good picture of  that let's see here all right so you can see   it right there all right so as long as it pops  through and you can see through the opening   then your jet should be clear I'm going to  also put this in those trying to cleaner   I'm gonna also leave this out and I'm going to  clean that no sun cleaner we're gonna also uh   put this watch this pretty clean but the kit  has new screws in it it has everything we need   I'm going to open up that shortly but we got  that out now there's also a small vent on the   side here and this one is really hard to see  because should be right there and you can also   poke through now at this point we're going to  get the seat out okay so there that just went   through there so that's clean okay now if you  turn it upside down again right inside here   is the seat the old seat and that's another thing  about this tool this tool with this pick it really   makes it easy poke it right through to Center  the hole push it off to the side a little bit   and it should come right out now this seat is  the old one and like I said about them getting   fat and it actually they poof up they poof up is  that a word poof all right so they puff up and   these guys here will get fat and I call them I say  it blows up but they'll get fat and what happens   is the float will not sit properly so it sits high  and then it won't allow the fuel to flow so that's   the old one right there now this is when you can  take your gum cutter whatever carb cleaner you   have you can spray this down you spray through all  the orifices right here is the this is where your   primer line goes right here spray through there  some guys can take take out these uh these Welch   plugs and then in the kit it has Welch plugs I  do not I poke through these holes inside here   and I'm not sure if you can see this or not  but this is the real hard hard spot to see   there's usually three to four holes depending  on how big the carburetor is right inside   here and I'm going to try to show you there's  three on here there's one here and that pokes   right through one here and that pokes right  through and then there's one below it now   there's a whole bunch of scratches right there  I'm not sure why they're there try to get the   last one right there okay so I have cleaned all  those holes and granted yes you're wondering well   geez you know it's you should clean them up from  this side I've I've been doing this for 30 years   I have never needed to take those watch plugs out  the carburetors usually always come back if you   get a carburetor that is so bad that maybe your  throttle isn't even working it's so corroded maybe   it's time for a new carburetor but I really like  to try to rebuild these Tecumseh original Tecumseh   carburetors because the aftermarket carburetors  are junk for Tecumseh I've tried them sometimes   they work sometimes they don't but if you can  rebuild the Tecumseh carburetor then you're going   to be much better off use all Tecumseh parts now  that being said this is the this is supposed to be   the correct um this is supposed to be the correct  emulsion tube all right and it looks to be exactly   the same we'll take this out because I didn't  want to open up a bag until I knew what it was   so for this particular model that I'm working on   okay so it you just match them up okay so it's  this is supposed to be pink but you can see that   they're identical all these other ones and these  bags are just a little bit different so you just   have to remember to get the correct one I like to  wait until I see what's inside it but by ordering   through your parts breakdown you should get the  correct one you just have to make sure that you go   through the model number all right so I'm going to  go ahead and soak this and uh we're gonna soak the   um the jet the main jet we're going to soak the  smaller jet now you can just use carb cleaner and   uh let's let me get back to you after this is all  cleaned up also before I throw this in the cleaner   um all this right here I'm gonna try to scratch  that off with a screwdriver or a pick or something   before I put it in the cleaner the cleaner  does a great job but just caked on stuff this   is like caked on you can just see coming off  my fingernail you know you can buy the bowls   they're not that expensive but I think the new  Bowls do not come with this I'm also going to   show you how to take this off in fact why don't  we just do that now because it's in the kit to   give you the gasket so I'm going to go ahead and  show you how I do it and then you guys will just   you have to get the spring off of here there's  a gasket inside here so let's go ahead and what   I do is I usually take a screwdriver or a pick  sometimes sometimes the pick works sometimes the   screwdriver Works let's go over and this is how  I do how I do it okay for me having the one hand   this is my advice is actually a second hand for me  but I put this little rod in here so what happens   is when I push down on this it doesn't go down so  I can play with the spring all right so then what   you have to do is you have to get that spring out  underneath that cat and it can be a little tricky   for me for you guys out there um you might not you  might not have much of a problem with it but you   have to push your spring Down Under the cap and  then the cap will slide off the back side of the   of the pen I almost have it right there there it  is all right that wasn't too bad today sometimes   I have good days sometimes I have bad days but  don't lose the spring or the cap all right and   be very careful with this Rod but you will fall  out and you'll lose that also but if you turn it   over now if you're on a bench drop it through this  is the gasket right here that we have to replace   so that little teeny gasket they tend to go bad  and through I mean they last years and years and   years but while you're in here doing this you just  go ahead and replace it a lot of you guys may not   have this you can just skip this procedure because  you bowls may not even have it anymore a lot of   them don't have it anymore but that's the gasket  right there it's in the kit but what I'm going   to do right now is I'm going to go ahead and clean  this up I'm going to also put this in the tank see   if we can get as clean as we can because that's  not going to seat properly if they're really bad   and if they're pitted inside here I've seen them  where the aluminum so pitted that don't take a   chance replace the carburetor Bowl if it takes it  in a couple days to get or whatever do what you   got to do now this one also says Tecumseh Products  which is pretty nice so I know to guaranteed that   this carburetor is a genuine Tecumseh and we're  going to go ahead and do that so I'm gonna go   ahead and put this in the ultrasonic cleaner  and we'll be right back okay so I have the the   carburetor out of the ultrasonic cleaner and as  you can see it does a heck of a nice job cleaning   it doesn't do real good in fact I should have  showed you it had a lot of debris here remember   where the inside of this was actually corroded  and I had this in the tank and it is a little bit   of pitting going on right here but that's uh the  nice thing is you can use if you have a wire brush   wire brush works really nice to get the stuff  cleaned clean it off I wouldn't say necessarily   scrape it with a screwdriver like I said in the  beginning but the screwdriver does help right   here and I didn't show you that but this was  pretty corroded in here and after I scraped it   and then we tanked it and I put it in the old  sign cleaner for about a half an hour okay so   we're ready to go ahead and put it back together  again we also I also tanked the Jets the low speed   jet and high speed jet now I do recommend  going back through and just using your fine   um your small wire and just cleaning it one more  time I use compressed air when I clean them this   also with this guy just make sure you clean them  back out again to make sure they're nice and clean   now the kit itself we already know that we're  going to use this emulsion tube and I put all   the parts this is all the old parts so far off  of our old kit and I put them to the side because   you don't want to Interchange them with your new  parts we're going to go ahead and open up this kit I'm just going to dump them out watch like I  said about the Welch plugs that I don't use Welch   plugs there it has a couple extra gas actually  this right here this washer here is actually it   goes under here now I'm Gonna Leave This go this  this is a felt a little teeny um felt uh just a   felt gasket as and technically if this had an air  cleaner on it I could see replacing that I mean we   could replace this I guess and then you could have  that the Springs a little bit tricky to get on and   off sometimes and a lot of times you don't really  need to take that off it's not in bad condition   you really you don't have to really worry too  much about this even if it wasn't there but that   washer on top is that washer here so technically  we could go ahead and take that off I'm not going   to you guys can go ahead and do that if you like  I know this is going to operate just fine and the   spring is working if you don't if the Spring's  not working you're going to have to go ahead   and look at the parts breakdown and get a spring  and then take this out take this apart and put   our bacteria again now we did have to take off I  took off the choke because of the emulsion tube   that I couldn't get in there but I'm going to  just leave that out now what we're going to do   now is just separate all the parts and here's  your needle valve right here and they give you   also they also give you a spring that goes on your  needle valve and it just is going to go on like so or just have to clip it in like that  okay so that's done there are three   O-rings two of the O-rings are small  one of the O-rings is Big we're not   going to use the big o-ring all right  this is the this right here is going   to go on for our button on the bottom of  the carburetor Bowl on the bottom of this you have a seat this is the very important how we  install this okay this is the needle seat this is   a this is a seat and the other one I'm not sure if  it's going to show it the other one doesn't really   look much bigger the old one but it's a little bit  but just we're just going to replace it now that's   neoprene so when that goes in we might as well go  ahead and do that now this is where the tool comes   in handy all right so this tool is made to just  go ahead and put the seat on there I'm going to go   ahead and put a little bit of I want to use Simple  Green we need some kind of a a slippery substance   that's going to dry up and go away to get this  into inside the carburetor now if you don't have   this tool you can also use the drill bits you  just make sure you have a clean back end of it   and like I said 964 for 5 30 seconds normally  will sit right inside the carburetor like this   the 5 30 seconds may be a little bit  better better But you just have to make   sure it gets seated properly and but by that  I definitely use a little bit of Simple Green I'm just going to spray it on the  table right real quick and since   I have it on here we're going to go  ahead and just a little bit because   I want this to dry up but I want to  be able to get it in the carburetor   and then you're just gonna insert it the tool  makes it real easy just push it in all the way   and that should be it because I'm interrupting  this because I forgot to tell you a very important   thing the seat right here if you look very closely  on it there's a there's a round that's flat on top   with some nut from some numbers on it okay that  must go on your tool just like so the back side   of it actually has what they looks like a circular  on it has a circle on there with a Groove in it   that's what goes into the carburetor very  important so when this is seated inside the   carburetor the needle valve is going to sit  right here you do not want the needle valve   to sit on the indented Circle right there  but that has the crease you don't want that   so make sure that this is installed correctly  or you will have issues okay so the smooth part   with the numbers out is on the tool you push  that into the carburetor you're good to go   all right now the emulsion tube right here  okay there's two rubber O-rings that goes on   this I did these two right here so you're gonna  put one on top it's just gonna flip like that   and then one on the bottom and  make sure you use the right ones   I don't think you're gonna mess that up because  you can obviously see that the third one is bigger   now again I'm going to use a little bit of simple  green and put a little bit of simple green on here   and then you're going to use the long  the long side goes all the way up inside   through the carburetor like so and a little  tricky sometimes just going to go ahead and   I'm going to go ahead and use a back end  of a drill bit to push that up in there okay so now you're going to see the back end of  that sticking through there like so and that's   the way it should be and then you can go ahead  and I'm going to go ahead and put the this is the   choke plate that I had to take off now you could  they give you the felt since I took this one apart   the only time you really need to felt is if you  have a closed system if you have an air filter   this does not have a closed system snow blowers  don't have air filters and the little nubbies   on the side here just want to show you the little  nubbies right here go against the spring okay so   just make sure you get this lined up correctly  that's the way it's supposed to be right there   and sometimes these Springs get weak and you can  kind of bend them the other direction sometimes   hopefully um it's just got to stay and  this one is feeling a little bit loose   I want to try to bend it in a little  bit see I just bent that in just a tad and then it has the opening right here   slide it in and then that's how it's gonna go  right like that okay then you have to put your   choke plate in remember how it went from before  and also you can look whoops you can also look   for wear marks you can see that this wear Mark has  this straight up and down line which comes from   the shaft and the other side has a circular and  that's from the screw so pretty much you know that   it goes in this way now these can get a little  tricky to line up but you got to make sure to   go in nice and straight and flat and then they do  give you in the kit they give you brand new screws   and that's where you need the the T10 screwdriver  or a nut driver whatever you have that has this   and I'm going to try to put this in by hand this  one's not staying on the end of my screwdriver   sometimes they stay it's a brass it won't  stay with a magnet because it's brass and   they already have blue Loctite on them and so  you just have to be careful when you do this   make sure to go in nice and snug make sure to go  all the way in make sure you don't over tighten   them or break them and then make sure it operates  correctly open closed open close that's your choke   now this little felt I put on is going to sit  down at the bottom there and they give you two   one for the top one for the bottom or one for the  choke and one for the throttle plate itself I'm   Gonna Leave This one go this is just to show  you how to rebuild the carburetor you know if   you need to do that you can do that okay so we  have the emulsion tube van we have the seat in   we're gonna go ahead and put the the brand  new gasket on the outside here you can do   this before the float or after the float I'm  going to put it on and it does kind of stretch   out make sure it goes on there nice and straight  and then your flute needle valve now this can be   a little tricky to hold it up while  you're putting it in the carburetor oops so you're basically just  going to try to sit this on   just like so I'm just going to hold it like there  pick this up and I'm going to tilt it into itself okay we're just going to go ahead and slide it  down in there like so I'm just gonna let it sit   there for a second and then I'm going to get the  brand new this is the PIN that's going to hold   it on you're gonna have to push this down slide  that through and then we're going to take a look   at this now if you remember in the beginning  where it was sitting up a little bit higher   actually um I guess I have to take this  gasket off to show you how to use the tool   all right the the float has to be set and we're  going to set the float I want to go ahead and   take this off just to show you how the tool works  I've been doing this a long time I can do it by   eye so that pretty much is going to be very close  and what we have to do is now I'm not sure if I   can do this I need somebody to hold this for me  here but this tool has a flat spot on it okay   right where the numbers are on this Tecumseh  tool this is designed to go inside right here   and it's supposed to you're supposed to just put  it right on the flat spot of the carburetor and   then go into the float now it looks like the  float might be a little bit low or I should   say a little bit high if returned upside down  but it needs to be adjusted up a little bit   not much it's hard getting your tool to try to  do his own video but you get the drift right it's   slide that in and it's supposed to be right right  around that Mark now it looks like it might be a   little bit low so now how I do this with you don't  want to crush the seat okay so you don't want to   push down on this float if it's real high don't  just push down on a float you can actually ruin   the seat you can have fuel leaking once you get  it all back together again I'm going to put a   screwdriver I'm going to lift this up so it's not  sitting on the seat I'm going to put my flathead   screwdriver right down where the metal Tang is  and then I'm going to bend it down a little bit   because I know the float has to come up so what  that did was and it may not look like it but it   just raised up this float just a little bit and  then you have to use your tool again to check this   now it's actually it looks a  lot better I'm pretty sure it's yeah that's that's going right up going  right in there so that should be pretty close   to almost perfect all right they do sit a little  bit on what I call low but they sit down a little   bit and then I had to just bring it up a tick so  right there it's pretty darn good so it may have   been pretty close when I did take it apart but  you want to make sure you're right around that   general area and even just by watching the video  you'll you should be able to get it pretty close   then you can put the gasket on and you just  want to make sure this gasket is not crooked   and Tecumseh gaskets are very good because you can  reuse them if you have to take the carburetor back   off so it's just make sure it's sitting correctly  and now the float goes on a certain way all right   so this float has a little detent right here  and then this is where the float actually sits   so you want to make sure when you put it on I  always remember that the detent that but it's   sitting a little bit low right here always goes  where this where the uh where you put this this   stud in right here just always remember where  it sits low is where you put the pin in okay so   where it sits right here where the numbers and  it says Tecumseh Products on it that's going to   sit right where you put the pin in and then you're  going to put this down right on top of that like   so and the float comes down here and sits but  we're not going to do that quite yet because we   need to put in the spring which is this is the  spring-loaded drain okay so I cleaned it in the   Ultrasonic Cleaner so we have a spring you have  that part and you have the cap all right and so   I want to get the gasket that we just I just  told you about that little gasket right there   you're gonna that's a brand new gasket and that's  what we're replacing you're gonna put it on the   stud and a little bit of uh slippery stuff  would probably help this too they it has to   be extremely tight because you don't want any  fuel dripping from this when it's not in use   so it goes on like so like that now we got to go  back over to my uh Vise which is my extra hand   and we're going to go ahead and just put  this in like so like that so you're going   to be sitting like this and then don't lose  it bring over the cap in the spring over here turn it upside down so this doesn't go anywhere  for me just makes it easier for me and put a   spring on and you have to pinch down the clip that  goes over the top and you don't want to lose can't   tell you how many times I've shot the spring  across the room Clips in like so just like that   and that's a nice feature to have if you have  that in yours okay so let's go ahead and put this   back on again the low side The Tecumseh where  it says Tecumseh should go right over to pin   go ahead and put that on now this can get a  little bit snug here too and I tend to work   it left and right a little bit just to make  sure it goes on correctly make sure you're not   make sure you're even all the way around make  sure you're not off of it or crushing the gasket   then you have a new you have two different  gaskets here they give you because there's   two different they have two different Jets one  one's bigger than the other so you want to make   sure you get the right gasket for your jet  this one's you want the one that's fits snug   okay I'm gonna go ahead and put that in  and it should go right in nice and smooth   half inch wrench or ratchet I'm just going  to tighten this down this is a non-adjustable   carburetor so there is no adjustment for this  jet just snug it up make sure your gasket is on   properly all the way around which it is then we're  going to go ahead and put the low jet in there is   nothing there's no gasket for this it's just a  press fit you do not want to crank it in it's   brass you just want to seat it nice and firmly  we're good all right so there we go with that   and that pretty much sums it up nope  we got one more thing we have a cap   okay so just cap we took off the other one now  I don't put the cap on until after I put it on   the machine to make sure it's running okay  and when you put these on now remember these   can surge hunt and surge they can actually sound  they just sound like they're um they're hunting   and surging when they're cold because these are  non-adjustable carburetors so there's the cap on   so that's pretty much it okay but they can't  going back to a hunting and surging when you   do put them on and went right off the bat and  they hunt and surge try not to throttle up to   full speed right away only use like half speed  three quarter speed not even three quarters   half speed if you're doing it in the shop or  if you're doing it in a garage and it's not   real cold outside they should warm up a little  bit better then you take them outside obviously   you don't want to run them indoors too long  but Take It Outside make sure it's not make   sure it's not leaking let it operate for five  minutes ten minutes make sure you always come   back the next day and check for leaks if you  have leaks you're gonna have to take care of the   leaks that's pretty much it for how to rebuild a  Tecumseh non-adjustable carburetor if you have any   questions or
