all right so we are doing a market prep the first thing that I'm gonna do because it's the easiest task and I feel like sometimes it's just easier to start with the easy things to kind of get you going and check off some lists so I got my shopping bags here which are just cracked paper bags so I have this stamp I've got it from no issue a while back and it's just like a flower with created by Christine logo and also the stamp pad so I'm just going to spend some time stamping bags and like all it is this and I feel like it's good enough and it's like a nice nice size so you can fit like a bunch of things let's get stamping so we've got our stamp here and it's gonna be like a little extra I like to make sure I get all the ink stamp yay I got the corners a little bit but it's okay I'll try again there we go looks good now it's got you a bunch more [Music] all right so I'm just gonna be taking you through a bunch of Market preparations it's my first time doing an in-person market so I'm pretty excited but also I know there's a lot of prep work to be done I picked these bins up from Home Depot they're your standard 20 30 gallon Court one I'm not really sure the HDX brand which is like you could find a bunch of the Home Depot stuff three bins the first one is going to be inventory the second one is like inventory slash packaging and then this one is going to be all like the decorations and all this stuff so that's my organization okay you're gonna want to watch this part this is the never before seen footage of making the table spinner so it kind of went by on Instagram basically I wanted something engaging and captivating at my table so I got this spinner off Amazon I added my own brand colors because I didn't like the colors it came with and then I added some of my own vinyl letterings that had different like deals and cool things that people could Spin and possibly win so I'm gonna grab from my shelf I have everything prepared these are the gel pens I already put them into a set and then I just put them into this I got this from Target I already packed keychains the bamboo Lids are in there and then these Daisy coasters just one on top just trying to play Tetris at this point and fit as much as I can into these tubs couple things that I'm doing is charging the fan or just charging all the Portables in this clip I'm getting my money together I got a bunch of cash and singles from the bank to make sure I had change and Grace helped me put this together put a little letter board that says you look good today speaking of looking good don't mind me but I am the girl who is going to make everybody t-shirts we've got different colors different designs but we are repping CBC and I am here for it so while I'm taking a break from making the shirts come with me into the garage because that is where Evan is and he's doing all his wood shop woodworking there he's making me that wooden arch fixture which is going to display all the notepads and whatever else can fit on there but he is creatively using the back of a mirror stand that it was like a broken mirror and that's what's using to hold up the fixture he's spray painting and it's getting smell in the garage so let's go into the living room Market tip 101 practice your setup before you get there at this point everything is pretty much packed up and ready to go but I'm taking some time to pack some orders I want to do it because well one I do need to get some orders out but also it's good to see which inventory I might need to leave behind and this machine right here is my favorite small business supply it's my thermal printer that prints out shipping labels along with a bunch of other labels that you can design we are packing some stickers here's a sticker wall behind me and let's go how cool would it be if I could bring the sticker wall to a market or a pop-up maybe in the future but for now I'll just stick with my little acrylic displays which you'll see in the setup tomorrow good morning today is Market day and the first thing we're doing is setting up the tent it's an easy up tent so theoretically it should be really easy but clearly I still needed a whole team of help I think it took us like an hour and a half to two hours to finish setting up it helped that I did a practice setup at home before but of course there's some last minute readjustments and reorganizing to make it look really good hello we are here in Asbury Park doing the markets right here and we've got all the things hi Grace and Kate we have the whole setup got a cute little corner section I'll show you around our stationaries here we have notepads and like little freebie stickers for kids that want to come by or anyone really we have a bunch of sticky notes over here and I've got my glass cans and drinkware and bamboo blades right here a little bit about me and the daisy coasters which are really cute we have a fun little washi tape section so I'm out for like to see how it looks like and also like on a dispenser of course it's important to put a little connect with us sign for Instagram and what else oh this is a fun part we got a little spinner to spin and maybe win something or get some money off keychains and stickers really happy with how this Banner came out and it looks good the colors look really nice with all the stuff we got bread what kind of bread is it but it's gonna be delicious it's Olive and Herb let me tell you the four and a half five hours of the markets flew by so fast but it was exhausting and fun and the best part was I was so grateful that my family got to visit and see what we were up to waffle over here Caitlin hello waffle house the summer markets were so fun and pretty successful that I wanted to try a fall market to be honest I was not prepared for how cold the temperature dropped in the morning when we were setting up I was freezing I mean you can see I'm wearing like four layers of clothes but thankfully the sun came out and it was okay for the rest of the day the more and more markets I do the more experience I'm gaining from each one we get a little more efficient a little more creative with setting up and running the show some tasks like you see me here hooking the keychains onto the display still have to be done kind of when you get there I would say one thing I learned from my markets is to one have more product inventory than not enough because you really never know what's going to sell out and even if you have a lot of leftovers or something you probably had it anyway and also having a checklist of what to bring is really important I have forgotten essential things like tablecloths and stuff like that just purely by mistake and thankfully I was able to have someone go back and get them because we were close enough but if you were far or just in general you do not want to forget important things like that okay so those are the shirts that I brought darn it I thought it looks like I made more but it's fine and in light of showing you the change of seasons in this video consider the seasonal products people are shopping for the next few months the next few birthdays and holidays the last few tips I have if you are interested for doing a market yourself is to keep your decorations minimal but also meaningful and brand yourself as much as possible meaning business cards and bags and things like that to really promote yourself and lastly have fun go all out go 120 it's okay to be tired at the end you can sleep for the rest of the day if you want to shop around talk to vendors support other small businesses don't forget to eat stay hydrated be flexible and you're gonna keep getting better and better every time
