Revenant is the first Legend to receive a massive rework to his kit in all of Apex Legends and as I've made a guide on practically everything under the Sun by now including how to play every Legend including the old Revenant I believe it's more than appropriate that I make one for the new Revenant as well this guide will include everything that you need to know including how the abilities work how to use them efficiently the best loadouts for Revenant and of course the fabled Revenant movement at the time of making this video revenant's pick rate is up 468 percent all the way from being one of the least picked Legends to being the number one picked Legend with a whopping 16 pick rate and that's all thanks to his fun kit where the Tactical allows for some insanely High skill outplays and the ultimate lets you pull off things that simply no other Legend can do and of course if you guys do feel like you need some additional coaching in getting your Revenant play style just right or just want to improve a lot in Apex make sure to book your personal coaching session over at otter.coach but without further Ado I hope that you're feeling edgy because we're getting right into it starting the guide off right I want to cover revenant's passive the Assassin's instinct is one passive but if you ask me it should probably count them more than that revenant's passive makes his Crouch walking speed the exact same as walking speed meaning that you can sneak around while still maintaining normal walking speed but also that you can use Crouch's mid fights to make your strafes incredibly difficult to read and on top of that it can be combined with other things that do slow you down like healing to negate the movement penalty you'd otherwise get for popping something like a syringe or Shield battery it's also faster than the aiming downsides penalty meaning that you can zoom around with weapons that normally would slow you down too much like an lmg without any issue utilizing your Crouch mid fight is especially useful for Revenant since for a few weapons crouching actually raises your accuracy in addition to midfight users Legends who Crouch don't make any noise to their enemy is meaning you can more effectively sneak up on your enemies and pull off a flank before they actually see you and take notice the passive also allows you to climb walls six times as high as any other Legends going as far as 26 and a half meters up and due to how his climb is coded he will climb the same height that our Legends also can climb 25 faster in addition to this Revenant has more horizontal movement when climbing walls and can even go around corners while this climb feels weird especially if you're used to the typical movement techniques with other Legends it can actually be used in conjunction with many revenant-specific movement techniques which we will get to later in the video on top of that with the Revenant reborn rework low Health enemies within your field of view under 40 Health are now highlighted for Revenant this marker can be seen through obstacles such as smokes or walls and if Revenant was the one to put the enemy below the HP threshold the marker is also visible to his teammates all in all the passive gives you heightened abilities compared to the other Legends in the roster and on its owner provides a lot of utility for taking more of a sneaky or a stalker role but honestly the two active abilities like the ultimate or revenant's tactical makes it clear that instead of playing a sneaky role Revenant could take the flashy route instead revenant's tactical the shadow pounds is an amazing ability which upon holding down the Tactical after a brief charge up which determines how far you will go will create an instant velocity in whatever Direction you look it has a minimum horizontal range of 20 meters and will have you jump as far as 50 meters at Max charge you know that you are fully charged when your hands starts smoking and shooting out some sick Flames it is worth noting that if you do accidentally fat finger your leap and let go of the gate too soon you can still press and hold the Tactical button again before you jump to charge it up like usual leaping onto a wall allows you to instantly use your passive and start climbing unlike if you normally would have jumped against a wall as doing so would slow you down and then drag you downward some before allowing you to actually climb while you are mid-air you're not really able to do anything else and continue to sort towards your targets including being unable to shoot your gun if you want to gain access to your weapon before landing try to aim your Tactical towards a higher ground or something to slide off before landing at your target as this counts as touching ground and it stops the Tactical animation it's also worth noting that any of the Velocity that you have gained from revenant's tactical doesn't just go away the second you hit the ground meaning it can be followed up by a bunny hop a slide or even a wall run to keep you moving in One Direction and of course other than that you can use the Tactical in conjunction with the many movement techniques but we'll get to those later now calm down I noticed stuff is exciting but these bits are just as important because just like with this passive there are so many ways in which Revenge tactile can be used to gain an advantage on the battlefield due to the range of the Tactical it can be used to either engage or disengage from a fight normally I would recommend using the leap between High grounds or onto High Ground and never Landing straight on top of an enemy as you are fairly easy to read while mid-air and you can be beamed just as easily as I mentioned earlier if you do want to land near an enemy if you want to finish them off or stop a revive or whatever you can always choose to slide off some obstacle to gain access to your weapon and your other abilities earlier I found that combining your Tactical with your passive is one of the best ways to use it as by knowing where all your enemies are and most importantly that to her low health will allow you to jump in and secure the kill at an insanely fast speed and they more often than not won't be able to react moving on on top of halving your tacticals cooldown from 25 seconds to 12 and a half in addition to cutting the remaining amount of cooldown that you had left on your tactical by half using revenant's ultimate forged Shadows which by the way is this a reference to forge or am I reaching here anyways sorry Ford Shadows is what takes Revenant from a legend with a lot of depth to a pub stomping cleanup and clutching machine as soon as you activate your ultimate irrevenant receives a 75 Shield that surrounds him this Shield provides Extra cover from incoming damage such as punches bullets and explosives but Revenant will still take damage like usual through area of effect abilities such as caustic's gas fire or more it's worth noting that the shield makes your hitbox noticeably larger and as such means you will lose those 75 Health points quite a lot faster than if you would have been peaking your enemy otherwise also have very little known fact about revenant's ultimate Shield is that it doesn't have bleed through meaning you can eat an entire craber shot and still only have all of that damage cap out at 75 damage do you know break your Shield or hell if you only have one Health on your Shield that's all that it takes speaking of the hitbox at the time of this recording it counts as a bit of a fun wall meaning that you can actually combine it with certain other abilities if you want to do some trolling specifically teammates can stick fuses knuckle cluster or Arc Source onto the shield before charging straight into the enemy team and for whatever reason Pathfinder can grapple off of it as well allowing for some pretty fun place around something like gravity cannons if your Shield gets damaged as long as you aren't taking any more damage it will slowly recharge over time by default for Shadows lasts 25 seconds but here's where the ability gets real strong if you secure a knock as in just get a knock during your ultimate the shields will immediately bounce back to 75 Health your Tactical will also be refunded and on top of that the duration of your ultimate is extended as well and not only that you don't actually have to just get a knock all it takes is getting an assist on an enemy getting knocked and this will count as a reset as well making Revenant not only the perfect Legend to jump in and go for cleanups with his ultimate but one of the best dualists as well an additional 75 health is huge and gives him one of the largest Health pools in the game but not only that if you take a 1v1 dual and you end up getting a knock you will get a shield to stop the enemy from getting a kill on you when trading damage while at the same time getting your Tactical back just in time to make it back to your own team and safely reset as with most fight enabling abilities finding the perfect timing to activate the forged shadows will be tricky but generally speaking you want to activate it right before leaping in or right before you start dealing significant damage and want to all in the 25 second window plus the extension of your ultimate does give you some leeway if you time it wrong but the more efficiently that you do activate Forge Shadows the more value you will get out of it if not for the team fight at hand it might help you fend off a third party later on in addition to being used to engage and to take a fight for Shadows is also very useful if you're trying to get away from an enemy team who might be chasing you as the shorter leap cooldown in addition to the extra 75 Health goes a long way in allowing your Escape now normally when it comes to my Legend guides I do a full section for loadouts but I'll just add it to this section about the ultimate instead if you have the chance you should always run a pump shotgun as a secondary if you're playing Revenant that being either the Peacekeeper or the Mastiff there are plenty of reasons as to why with the major ones being that one by using a pump shotgun and ideally forcing Pig fights around corners or bubbles assuming both you and your opponent hit each other around the same amount of time you will have at least one more Peak or pump before dying which if both parts play perfectly means you will win every time and two using a shotgun will allow you to secure a knock more easily and allow you to get the reset and a new Shield that you very likely desperately will need building off of this just another quick tip for evidence ultimate that I didn't think of until now when I'm recording is that if you're fighting several opponents at once but you haven't gotten your Ford Shadows cracked just yet if the situation allows it it might be in your best interest weight on getting the finishing blow until your Shield breaks to maximize the amount of effective Health you have in the fight keep in mind that this is only a good tip as long as your enemies are selling your field of view if they run away to heal you have to kill them as for what primary to use I've actually made a video ranking all the season 18 weapons in a tier list so if you are interested in that I've linked it in the description overall I'd say that the mid-range to low range SMG will be the way to go since you want to get in close and deal a lot of damage and fast but I can see something cheesy like a Spitfire working out for you as well but there is one more thing that turns Revenant from being a simple Pub stomping Legend to an Unstoppable force and that is his movement specifically the way his kit can be abused for some insanely fast hard to play and read movements and quick disclaimer before we get into it as we speak New revenance Movement techniques are still being discovered but I will cover all of the Revenant movement techniques that we know of today many of these techniques are sort of the base of revenant movement and can be combined and chained together to make some pretty impressive outplays and take his kit to the next level so let's start off with the passive as I mentioned Revenant can't really wall jump like any other Legend but that doesn't mean that he can't wall jump at all if you want to pull off something that looks like a wall jump with Revenant you can jump onto a wall start climbing and then jump while adding a side strafe in One Direction while at the same time moving your view in that same direction otherwise something doesn't known as Au bounce his passive also has a few other abilities for example as I mentioned previously you can wall run for long distances by latching onto a wall that you're coming at with high momentum for example if you just came out of your Tactical and this can obviously be followed up with that u-bounds at the very end to get even more distance it's also worth mentioning that if you do wall run or climb enough to hit a corner you can utilize tap strafes to turn around that very corner and immediately get back onto the wall by jumping immediately adding a tap strafe and some lurches with your movement keys to guide you to the other side in addition to that the Revenant wall run uses the horizontal Revenant movement in conjunction with other High Velocity moves such as jump pads gravity cannons or of course the Tactical where you can jump against a wall latch on and sort of run along it for a very long time until you might decide to bounce off but these techniques were mostly already known by now ever since Revenant came out all the way back in 2020 the real movement Renaissance comes with the rework specifically revenant's tactical while it does act as an instant velocity boost you can also use the Tactical to get much farther if you combine it with other types of movement like super Glides nade boosts jump pads or whatever another movement technique that's worth knowing about is a Revenant leap tap strafe by adding a jump and a tap strafe at the very start of your leap more or less the same timing as if you're trying to hit the octane's jump pad for the instant tab strafe you can turn up to 360 Degrees off of your Tactical while this doesn't seem like nothing at all at first because you can already kind of do that right tap strafing out of your Tactical will allow you to get onto obstacles that are above you like certain platforms or even getting onto the roof of a building through a window without having to actually leave your position or expose yourself in addition to that pulling off a Super Glide when using your Tactical will break your model in third person making you look like you're jumping backwards and making you nearly impossible to read while mid-air and for the console players who can't tap strafe I do want to mention that the Revenant leap does provide something like a tap shave as well which you can pull off by taking a jump pad jumping off a gravity Cannon or whatever that will give you some momentum with your Tactical charged turn up to 180 degrees or whatever you want to do while mid-air and then release the pounds this will let you make a very sharp turn mid-air one that only would be doable on mouse and keyboard and of course there is the dash cancel previously in this guide I mentioned how you can pull out your weapons before landing at your destination by sliding against something but there is one more way a better way if you will it just takes a bit more of a setup if you hold your Tactical start mentaling and then pull off a Super Glide all while holding the Tactical followed by you releasing the Tactical key anytime after you have hit the Super Glide you'll actually get access to use your weapons mid-air much sooner than if you would have used it sliding obviously this requires some setting up and knowing how to Super Glide which is actually one of many movement techniques that I have covered on this channel but you can also get some individual coaching on this technique and so much more just about looking a coach at r.coach these are all coaches I've personally chair picked and they are some of the best that you can actually get to coach you in Apex all with their own specific niches to offer you a wide array of guidance so if you're looking for help with your movement I'll recommend lobotomy any day of the week in fact lobotomy helped me out with this section of the guide and actually suggested that I should include two more Revenant techniques that I hadn't heard about yet first off you don't actually need the Super Glide in order to dash cancel you can also pull this off by starting to charge your leap sliding off an edge and then releasing it this is much faster it requires basically no setup and is so much easier than trying to hit that pesky Super Glide timing it also helps if you have your gun out before starting the Tactical so the game automatically pulls it out for you this technique also works off slight jumping off of octane's jump pads but I am curious to see whether it actually stays in the game and yeah I could have told you about this before mentioning the whole Super Glide part but it's good to know and hey you got to figure it out the same way that I did so you know you welcome for the emotional roller coaster you know we're just experiencing things together in addition to that there is one more technique that I want to cover by using your tactile while being behind a small wall or some other type of small cover the Tactical will actually fling you over that cover you don't need to climb over it or anything beforehand this is great to know if you're trying to stay in cover and immediately leap without standing out in the open and soaking bullets just like with the Tactical it will require a bit of a setup but it is definitely worth it and that's how you play Revenant this guide is a lot longer than we normally make them but to be fair if there's a lot to take in so I think it's worth it if you guys enjoyed the video make sure to hit the like button subscribe and if you don't want to learn movement for any of our great coaches at auto.coach check out the video on the screen to learn the most important movement techniques in the game thank you so much for watching and I'll see you all tomorrow peace out
