you [Applause] [Music] everybody shame back over here guitar work welcome back here's the classic this is Layla the unplugged version of Layla a lot of fun to play and I think you'll find you can get through it for sure thanks for coming back and thank you for subscribing and to make things easier here you can get these song sheets from patreon.com slash guitar at work go grab those are downloadable and they're gonna help you get along because some tablets are here to worry about and also there's a sheet here for the chords during the verse and all of that where the singing happens and all that now we've got no capo on as you can see looking at that first bit thanks for subscribing all that good so the thumbs up have helped a lot guys and all these requests this is yet another request thanks for that I've suffered a knee in Tennessee daddy thank you very much and I'm going to start with a D minor shape here start with de montjuïc there's so many ways you could play this I looked at the video that famous video from playing he's definitely got that D minor shape going on and you're gonna see a zero three zero three on the a string so I'm gonna steal my middle finger here he's gonna play zero on the a string while the other two guys stay there and their D minor spots so your D minor I'm gonna get rid of this guy and go zero three and then quickly return back to the D minor to play the zero into two senior so you don't need the full D minor but he does have it on there so it's up to you if you can figure this differently it's totally totally fine he does have it on there later for a half-smoked but you're gonna need a full demo so without worrying too much about the possibilities and exceptions just maybe let's do it this way and it's gonna work just fine so there's a hammer written I don't hear it is a hammer but everybody else seems to and that's cool so I'm gonna go take that middle finger again starting from the top zero hammer third fret of that a string and quickly back the D minor just playing the D and the g strings there I've marked the downs and ups in I'm just gonna do it all downs for right now just to get through the mechanics of it and then hit that zero two again so here we are we go D minor shape back d and g strings twice that's the 0 & 2 you're seeing there we have the full shape on even though it's overkill so 0 3 [Music] now my middle fingers gonna go get that three that you're seeing that's what he does not gonna argue with Eric Clapton and then b-flat now sorry about this it's not my fault it's a tricky fingering for sure b-flat you've got your first fret here on the a string and your third fret on the D G and B strings and that's your ring finger squash in order to get that if you find that difficult it's okay get that elbow up and if you just can't seem to push that ring finger all the way down if you're in standard technique I'll call it or more formal technique you'll never get it that way so I have to even with the length of these digits I have to bring my elbow up and that helps to pull the finger down squash and things that ain't pretty but it's gonna work for sure and you may get a lot of this at first now dead string stand that's okay everybody does it first it'll pull with the left shoulder as well instead of just crushing it so that's the b-flat that you're seeing there when he first arrives he's just playing the the a string the D string you see a 1 & 3 written and then you're seeing a couple of strums where he's playing the a D G and B strings you don't want to hit the high E on this unless he's muted sounds the up key if you do uh-huh and there's my down up now so let me take it from the top again you've got 0 & 3 D minor [Applause] middle fingers going over to pick up three two bass note then that pesky b-flat now you know take that same shape drag it up two frets that's now a C partial just the a and the D strings there and then an up down strum including the all the way to the B string finally to the back of the D minor for the D is zero in a - did you see there again slowly that first line of tab coming your way zero three D minor and middle fingers come pick up three is one and three partial and then up down a fuller strum up two frets gives you a see back to the D minor okay so bow now ups and downs up down up down down up down down down down [Music] I think that'll come pretty naturally to you if you're struggling with the mechanic so if you just can't quite get to the quartz fast enough stop tape go through it that's pretty normal for sure you're right the right hand won't know what to do if there's hesitation in your left so probably get that down first for sure and come back and meet us heading to the second line here so I'm still in D minor in the second line here's a zero three picked not hammered D minor series gonna spray the upper three strings an upstroke of that D minor middle finger again it's gonna go pick up that third fret a string and here's our friendly b-flat now up down fuller strum see and then this is a little different open a here's your see again and in D minor so second line is this zero three D minor spray middle finger goes and gets it V flat up down see open a one more time second line spray the finger comes over B flat C up it goes mobile see again the yeah definitely have to stop tape there I'm sure if this is new to you stop tape come back and see us let me just play the the intro very very slowly and call it out one at a time here you've got your D minor first line I'll hammer it do you minor middle finger comes over B flat up down C and D minor second line D minor spray Littlefinger comes over B flat C open a Iwo Jima yeah strictly to get back time yes oh stop tape there as I keep on saying just worried that you're trying to swallow us all in one shot that's a lot to swallow for sure it's normal to have to spends a few days on that whatever it might take you and time is precious I realize heading into the verse section and just before he does that into the verse you're gonna hear the whole bangle Bob out like that for it's a key change so they're gonna go open it you'll see it at the bottom of that handwritten page there for the for the intro zero so I'll use my first finger for that three and hear that stop II kind of sales to cuddle back you can achieve that stop biting it with your pick after you plant pop and then third fret like that that'll keep it staccato pop and it lands immediately on the C sharp minor seventh so lots of bar chords coming your way you may have to ice your wrist down after this one but they're really good for you it's gonna open a lot of doors if you're feeling good about your bar chords that just put up a sister golden air video that'll also help with our mood as well so here's c-sharp minor' fourth fret that's the C sharp minor seven without the pinkie on it C sharp minor without the pinkie makes it C sharp minor 7 I'll just sketch the chords first year Asher a minor seven in the verse going to G sharp seven all you have to do is bring everything one strength thicker pinky stays off of there that was C sharp minor seven to G sharp seven in the third bar we've got three chords in that guy the first two beats are occupied by C sharp minor seven one two now here's that C chord that nasty bar hit him one time that's beat three drag him up to D that's meet four in the next line it's going to go to an E for two beats and then in East seventh rid of the ring finger I'll take it through the strumming pattern in a sec f-sharp minor in that second bar of the second line two beats shared with B be there you go here's an E - ace - beats f-sharp minor it's b2b suggest here's a neat whose pride this a is just gonna hit it what's up man and he's going to go back to the the main riff so I don't hear anything except you know straight down up on this stuff if I was to count that and again these chords might be challenging for you if our courts are dude yeah stop tape and just go get them together a good bar I'll take a minute you know a good bar keep that first finger nice and straight and a little pull from the left elbow get that first finger nice and straight that forces your wrist down or anything like that so let me go four beats on a c-sharp minor' just down up stuff so if I go three four one and two and three and four G sharp seven two three two beats on C sharp minor seven one one beat C one beat d e two beats be seven F sharp minor B Oh a f-sharp minor B a star he's going back to that we talked about I should mention when he does go back to that he doesn't do the first this goes right into it from the D minor sitting elbow that section there is because this is your chorus he but he doesn't do what we call the pick up the that part there he just goes right at do that one more time on the verse and we'll let you go here c-sharp might have a little quicker maybe through C sharp minor 7 four beats three four G sharp 7 2 3 C sharp minor 7 2 beats C 2 D 1 B each e 2 beats be 7 2 beats F sharp minor B Eva to 84 to F sharp minor B for to Eve huge prize stop on the way and we're back at my hotel you're back to the main riff there again without doing this first is it yeah if you get those components together what do you have you have a verse or a main riff I should say which is also acts as a course and you have this verse exceptions yeah that hope that might be a lot to chew on but hey keep out at practice practice practice and have some fun yeah thanks again great request daddy and thank you for subscribing all your comments and suggestions or most of your comments definitely thank you for that and thumbs up helps me a lot at this Inn I appreciate it guys all you can get your sheets again I'll reiterate you can get both these layla sheets here at patreon.com slash guitar work it might make things a little bit easier for you so keep the comments suggestions coming and I really appreciate thumbs up helps me a lot here and hit that subscribe button lots more coming your way so thanks a lot for tuning in see you again soon bye bye now [Music]
