hey what's up y'all is evany christina and i am back again with another video and in this video today I'm really excited about I'm going to be talking all about my proven tips to successfully pass your flight attendant video interview in this video I'm going to be giving all my tips that I use to pass my video interview and other tips I've given all of my fly girls and by guys who have passed their interviews so get your PIN your pair ready get your notepad together for the spot to go down I have some really good tips I think they're going to be really helpful to you I can pretty much almost guarantee that if you follow these tips these airlines will call you back to schedule your face-to-face interview so get ready and stay tuned okay so the video interview is probably the most important interview you are going to have with your airline because the video interview is the first form of content you're gonna have for the airline at all it's going to be pretty much your major break its gonna decide if you're going to call you back for a second interview if they like you and it's gonna fire they're not really filling you and they decide to go on to the next applicants you don't want that to happen you definitely want them to be all by you and you want them to definitely contact you back so because it's like the first form of contact you want to present the best form of yourself as possible it's going to be time you're going to be able to see your face on your appearance good a taste of your personality see your smile your enthusiasm and that's going to determine what they like you or not and whether they invite you to the face-to-face interview and give you an opportunity to meet them in person if you wow them in the video interview you'll get through to the next step but if ever reason you're not feeling you unfortunately they will move on to the next applicant so you do an interview that video interview you want to be sure you are ready well-rested you look the part you say all the right things and you smile first thing you want to do and be sure is that you look exactly like a flight attendant you want you don't want them you don't want the airlines to have to try to envision how you look in the uniform or how you will look with your hair pin backwards the flight attendant you want to present that to them so they don't even have to use their imagination so look as close to a flight tennant as possible and I'm about to show you exactly how you should look BAM flight attendant so this for my ladies is exactly how you should look for your video interview you want to be sure your hair is pulled back in a ponytail or a bun I have mine back in a simple ponytail they can't really see the back so that doesn't matter I'm be sure you look professional you want to have on a really professional outfit stay with basic colors basic solids blacks blues white and I would say that's pretty much it and like grace but you want to say with professional tones make sure you wear a blazer I would definitely wear a blazer if you can unless you have a dress on that is just really professional you don't want to show your sleeves at all so I recommend you definitely have to get a blazer you don't have to spend too much in place you can find Blazers really inexpensive under $30 this blazer is Banana Republic and I actually found it for $11 at the goodwill so you ain't got to spend that much money I would even recommend you do that and it's perfectly fitted it was like God Himself set this blazer on that rack for me to walk in that day and I loved it so go to like your local Goodwill Salvation Army and just find a cheap blazer that you could just use for your video interview it doesn't have to you know fit you to perfect but you want just be able to fit your shoulders you know and look good on you and then underneath it you can have on either a button-up a blouse or even a dress I have on a dress right now if you just wanna put like a button up a white button-up a black button-up blue or something like that make sure it's professional please stay away from bright tones ladies and gentlemen also don't do like I wouldn't do red even um I wouldn't do any greens pinks maybe like a dark purple but just keep it very professional and keep it very basic because that's what the airline industry is all about is very basic you know this plane is prim is proper and you want to do that not for your nails don't don't follow my tips on the nails right now like I have my nails green my birthday just passed and I got like this bright green manicure exhaustible in some kind of way I guess but for your nails make sure you do something really basic like a red Reds are always good Pink's French tip or just a clear polish if you don't like wearing nail polish it on make sure your nails are short no stiletto nails make sure they are clean and make sure you just a very professional for your makeup you want to just do a simple makeup don't put too much eyeshadow on make sure okay this is my biggest tip right here and I tell this to all my ladies who hit me up make sure you wear red lipstick if not red wear a nice bright pink mine looks kind of red but this actually like a pink a bright pink and I love it and it's actually what I wore for my face to face interview as well I think as well as my video interview but please please I'm telling you make sure y'all wear realistic because that is like the that is the like typical flight attendant look at the red lipstick like it is every flight attendant has red lipstick and bright teeth and a nice smile so give them that if you don't wear lipstick well you're gonna wear it on this video interview make sure you go and get you inexpensive to buy lipstick it doesn't have to cost a lot and make sure you wear that but put your hair back or and you can have your hair back in a bun or you can have it on a bun top of your head but make sure it's pulled back off your neck if you have short hair that's fine just make sure it's you know nicely done I also get a lot of questions from my ladies who have draya's if you have dressier hair the industry embraces our natural hair so if you have a dress that is perfectly fine you don't have to worry about cutting them I have to just make sure I just style it very nice and neat put it back with a headband or put it in a bun is will or in the ponytail but dress are not like a you know faux pas or anything like that or it's not taboo to have dreads in our industry is very it is professional and it is why the accepting there are a lot of flight attendants who do have dreadlocks so just go ahead and put in a ponytail or something and then also I get a lot of questions about from girls who have like different color tone hair so if your hair is like brightly colored like if you have like there was a couple girls to like it here was like just one it's not funny but like one stripper to here and it's actually cute like monster pretty hair it's like they have like Wonder had locks and like a chunk of the locks was blonde and another girl she had like her hair just kind of like regular but it was like a streak of blonde hair you know you have some girls have like the hair red and they always ask me like do you think I should dye it for my video interview um and I'm I'm gonna I'm going to say yes it's I mean if you were serious and you don't want anything to hinder you from this opportunity and you are willing to die that color or at least do like a temporary that I think like a spray paint guy or something for you here at least something like that I would say yes if you have like like highlights or you know like a little streaks here and there I think that's fine but it's like I think when it's like chunks I think they may sear away from that or be a little just kind of apprehensive about that so just to be sure they call you back I would say go ahead and dye it um I kind of thought about a little bit I think you should dye it if if it came down to your video interview or at least just like doing temporary dye on if you don't want to dye it permanently but that's like if you have like excuse me that's why do we have some kind of like extreme high light or extreme coloring but err you airlines go for more of the natural look so they like people to be you know natural brunettes natural blondes if you do have your hair color a different tongues with your natural tone is just make sure you do your roots you don't want your roots to be thicker than I would say an intro and half or inch or a half an inch be sure you go ahead and update those roots before doing your video interview and like I said you want to look as professional as possible minimum Jerry I always just go simple studs you can do pearls a small pendant necklace if you like to wear pearls that's always really cute and classy if you wants like a small diamond necklace that's cute maybe one ring you don't want to do a lot of rings and what else up and the entire time and make sure you smile as much as possible when I say smile a lot I mean smile a lot like the entire time you're talking is just be smiling just smile the entire time you're talking you know you're very happy in your enthusiasm enthusiastic that's exactly how you want to be you want to smile and be happy and enthusiastic and all your answers um you want to do all your answers with grace everything about being a flight attendant is graceful we don't get upset we don't have bad days we don't get angry by the students are always poised and we're always calm right so that's what you want to convey in your message when you do your we have your video interview so when you're doing your answers what I mean to say so when you do your answer is that that's what you want to convey to them you want to convey that you are very poised you work well under pressure you don't get upset easily you don't bring your issues from home to work if you're dealing with an unruly passenger or someone's being rude to you you never give them that energy back you always stay positive you fight anger with kindness okay anytime there's ever an issue just stay calm just stay calm and go to your procedures okay um now for your video interview it is so like it's okay to be nervous everybody's nervous for their video interview I was nervous for mine luckily for my video interview for my airline I'm not sure all airlines do this but I think the majority of them do so when you start your video interview they may give you some practice questions to start with make sure you do those practice questions because it is going to ease your attention it's going to give you an idea of what they're looking for it's gonna give you idea what the questions are like unfortunately I can't tell you exactly what the questions are so please don't ask me it could put me in a really bad situation if I'm giving out the actual questions the airlines are asking however there are resources on the internet that you can go to and you can find out that information and waste you can actually practice the questions they may ask you but I cannot actually tell you what the questions are I guess I can tell you they may be there more customer service based and this is about all the information we want to give you about the questions but they're usually about five to six questions and like I said make sure you do is press practice questions first if they give those to you it is really going to help calm you down it's going to your nervous tension so I hope you feel more confident and then you'll be able to review the questions so once you can actually see yourself on camera you're like okay I see what I need to change let me go ahead and rerecord you know so I can make sure I panic camera a certain way or I look directly into the camera and then I'm smiling you know is anything that you don't like about the video you can correct it during the practice questions that would be actually do your real interview you know everything is fine everything exactly as it should be so those VR interview those practice questions for your video interview are so important and I highly recommend y'all do that do not skip over it also before you even start your video interview process make sure you do some practice questions there on your own I do some research about the airline itself like you maybe check out their Wikipedia page or their own about a section on their website also there are websites that you can check out that um there are I'm just trying to like say enough but not say too much right get myself in trouble but there are websites and your our research our resources out there where you can kind of get an idea of further idea of what this in your video interview is like that you have with your airline and exactly what they may be asking you so I would definitely go ahead and just Google is your best friend okay Google is your best friend I'm not going to tell you everything I'm going to tell you Google is your best friend whatever you want to know just ask it blatantly just ask it to Google and Google's gonna spit the information back out at you once again Google is your best friend Google your airline Google what you want to know about your airline Google what you wanna know about the interview questions Google is your best friend okay okay I'm going to take this jacket off because I'm just tired of sitting with it but y'all get the idea that you definitely want to do your video interview with some kind of blazer or something but it's just this a little warm I don't want to have it on this entire time for my gentleman do your interview in a full suit that's going to be the best bet for you make sure you are freshly shaved your hairs clean and washed and freshly cut or are done um we're full suit and and stay with the plain suit don't wear no country looking suits y'all don't be wearing oh you know no bright colors suits no Easter suits you want to wear a plain black blue or gray suit BAM point-blank period black blue or gray suit with a basic tie you don't wanna a colorful tie or anything you want to keep it very very basic for my gentlemen everything is all about the details so you want to be sure from your image so things you're saying every single thing is about the detail including the way you record your video so when you do your video interview you want to record it exactly like this I highly recommend if you can record your video like this in landscape so that when they look at your interview on their computer because I can look at it on your computer not on a phone they look at on the computer it's gonna look like this gonna kick up the entire screen I wouldn't recommend you record your video like this I wouldn't recommend you hold it and record it like this you can if that's your only option but I'm really detail-oriented and I'm a perfectionist and I believe presentation is everything so don't record it like this because you see those black bars on the side of me yeah that's not cute and when they actually review your video interview they're gonna do on a computer and they're gonna see those black bars and I mean I don't think it's necessary gonna be a pass or fail situation but that's a measure how much more professional it will look if you do the video like this instead and when they bring up your video interview they're going to see you sitting down looking professional and it's going to give them a better image of you and if you look more prepared like I said it's just the small details that count this is how I recorded my video interview and I recommend you do the same these are my proven tips if you follow them okay if you don't it's on you but you know it's all about the small details so if you can do it this way I think this looks much more professional it's easier on the eyes especially when you're looking at it from a computer or a laptop now also for your background on your environment so when you start to record your video number one be sure you're seated in a quiet well-lit area that is professional you want to have some good lighting natural lighting is always the best so I would say record your video in the morning or the afternoon time where you have the natural light coming in from outside always be sure the light is in front of you like I have a big window in front of me right now and also have a lamp on the side of me also just to give a little more light but you wanted to be worldly because you want them to really be able to see you and see all of your future now for your background your background is really important I would do it just like this exactly how presenting this video to you is how your video interviews should look to their lives so your background should be playing if you can do it right in front of a wall like I am I recommend you do that that's what I did for my video interview outside of my dining room and my dining room table I put my phone up on a holster just like it is right now and I did my field interview my background was playing white I had the natural light coming in off my balcony and it looks really good so I would recommend you do the same thing if you can't get any like good natural light where you are up then put like a bright lamp in front of you or on the side of you or something but just be sure they can really see your face and it looks really professional um I wouldn't do it I would just recommend you do it in front of a wall because it's just easy and it's plain I wouldn't really recommend you do it in your bathroom I wouldn't recommend you do it in your bedroom I wouldn't recommend you do it in your car I mean you got to do what you got to do but if you just do it in front of a wall I recommend you do that um like some I've heard people like do it in your bedrooms like on their vanities but then you have like your bed behind you and I already know how professional that is if you're going for a job interview because this is this is a job interview so you want to be in just a plain professional environment so go with the play background um or you can maybe do it maybe you can maybe do it in your living room I could say a living room is okay just make sure you like your the room is nice and clean the TV is all kids ain't running around you know you want to keep it very nice as nice as possible if you follow my tips I can almost guarantee you they will contact you for a face-to-face interview I think if you give them what I'm telling you to give them they're going to know more about you they're going to be intrigued by you they're going to be impressed by your image and they're going to like you they want to go they're going to want to see more of you which is why I highly recommend you follow every single tip I gave you this is what I do in on my video interviews and well not on my feet of interviews but in the video interviews I've done successfully these are the second what I did and these are the tips that I give all of my fly girls and fly guys who have passed theirs and it works for them I want to share that information to y'all another turnaround time I get a lot of questions like okay I didn't and you know there's been a we can happen contact me back um I mean Europe every airline is different when it comes to the turnaround time but I can tell you they will contact you one way or another they're never going to leave you just sitting out there wondering like what happened in my application if they like you they're going to contact you to do your face to face it decides to go with another applicant they're going to contact you until you that is well I would say the average turnaround time to hear back from an airline is about two weeks but it could be anywhere to four weeks or six weeks to eight weeks so it can be anywhere from just a couple weeks only up to two months but in between our time use equals to two weeks they will contact you to make a decision I would say right now airlines are hiring like crazy and they're try to get people in there's one airline in particular that is doing a lot of hiring through 2017 so this is a perfect time to get into that airline because they are like knocking these interviews and training out so you can get in get in I'm going to post the information before as to where you can find all the updated list for all the airlines that are hiring it's called five ten in career comma I'll post that link below so that way you can stay up to date as to what airlines are hiring right now and put traffic a ssin in I always recommend put more than one application in put like three or four in just apply to a lot of airlines there are a lot higher right now I know United hiring Virgin America is hiring American Airlines is hiring there's a lot of regional airlines who are hiring so just go apply to all of them so that way you increase your chances and your likelihood of getting a clog back Oh another thing so when you record your answers look straight into the camera like I'm doing right now I'm looking into the cameras I'm looking into someone's eyes don't look at yourself on screen like this I know it's in our nature to look at our segments should we look cute what we're doing are interviewed for your interview but no you want to be sure you're looking into the camera as if you're looking right into their eyes it's uncomfortable at first that's why you want to practice practice of um practice on your own like just set up your camera you know ask yourself a question you know why do you want to be a flight attendant turn your camera on and answer that question and practice looking directly into that camera it's really easy to do all you do is just stare at the little hole where you know the camera is and I'm comfortable doing it not because I do it a lot with these video videos but it's not gonna do you it's okay a lot kind of your eyes kind of want to pan a little bit look at yourself it's all kind of kind of checker stuff I every once in a while before the majority of the video you want to look into the camera as if you're looking into someone's eyes it makes it more personal and it makes you appear more confident as well so that's another big tip of mine y'all write that one down look directly into the camera and practice your questions until your video camera before you do your video interview it will help you tremendously do not look at yourself look into the camera I am going to put another resource down below called glassdoor.com where you can find information on flight attendant interviews by Airlines you can find airline reviews glassdoor.com is an amazing amazing amazing resource if you don't know about glass or comm check it out make sure you hit a blast or calm before you do your
