[Music] hi everyone welcome back to another video if you're new my name is Juliana and I'm a former stylist now fashion designer and content creator welcome to the channel in today's video I'm going to be sharing with you all of my super personalized tips and tricks on how I travel to Europe and how I pack for Europe so if you're packing for Europe this summer I hope you find this video super helpful I am sharing with you all of my favorite tips and things that I have picked up and learned throughout the years so that you're able to travel from country to Country in a seamless and effective Manner and that you feel confident in packing efficiently so with that being said let's get started so for starters the international carry-on dimensions are usually 21x 13 by 9 in it really depends on the airline you're taking I will go ahead and plug in the dimensions as well of this one in particular to give you a general idea this is my gorgeous calpac carryon that I recently purchased for my European travels this year although I wish this was sponsored it's not I promise I just genuinely wanted to show you mine because I really have loved the quality of it so far and so I will make sure to tag this model below for any of you who are interested my go-to personal bag is this one I'm obsessed with the compartments that come with it and if you do want to check this one out I will link it it as well I just really love the fact that this has a carry-on slit to insert it into your carryon handle this is such a GameChanger in traveling in the past I've used backpacks and I have just always been a little bit less comfortable traveling with a backpack that slides to and from your carry-on rather this one is just honestly the best okay everyone so the first tip might seem like common sense but we're human and we forget to check the weather so this is a huge determining factor in what kind of apparel and shoes you will be deciding to pack so check the weather that is my first tip before visiting any single city in Europe I typically add every city individually on my iPhone weather app and I just check the weather for every city to give me an idea and to gauge where I'm going and what kind of climate it'll be so this is super important because as I said it's going to determine not only your apparel but even the shoes and the accessories that you will be packing for for your trip the next tip I want to talk about is always wearing your bulkiest items of clothing so sweaters coats and jackets on the flight and or your bulkiest shoes so if you love a platform like I do I actually try to stay away from packing any platform sneakers or heels especially I love a platform heel but unfortunately when packing to Europe up I always try to avoid very heavy shoes because they do take up a lot of space and they do affect the weight of the bag so try to get creative and layer if you like to pack a lot of hoodies usually on your trips I always like to do this trick where I wear it underneath a Blazer or underneath the jacket or coat that I'm traveling with that day and then I always wear my heaviest shoes on the plane so that is a great way to be efficient with the space in both your carry-on and personal items now let's start packing this carryon so I want to teach you a very Insider trick on how I pack my carryon that I fit the most amount of clothes I like to have options so this method is going to allow for that you don't want to pack your jeans or your pants like that you want to lay it flat like so and this way as you continue to pack your pants you're going to evenly distribute the space throughout this compact area you also want to do the same with your tops and blouses so not only do you not want to pack like this super folded but you want to again lay it as flat as you possibly can so that you allow for more clothes to fit and you keep Distributing the space as evenly as you possibly can the next tip I want to show you so that you pack double the amount of shoes that you can is to use clear bags not only so you can see your shoes but I pack one individual shoe in one bag and then I want to play around with the uneven spaces in between my clothes so that I can start squeezing in or kind of fitting as best as I can the shoes in between so here I am playing a little game of Tetris this is what you want to do and then you pretty much just repeat this step you can even pack some Handbags and the rest of your clothes again as you can see as flat as I possibly can and then you want to put the lightest items at the very end for example this very dainty dress now let's pack the other side so here I pack any other accessories I pack a lot of handbags the rest of my shoes that I want to carry and sunglasses and then the trick is to actually fold and pack jackets and lightweight blazers at the top as well to finish one of my favorite traveling Essentials that I like to pack and then I'm going to show you how I fold is my studio through day Blazer I always always travel with a Blazer this one is perfect because it is wrinkle resistant so lightweight no shoulder pads and acts almost like a fabulous cardigan I wear it on top of dresses long sleeve shirts Etc so I basically turn inside out and then I fold it like so and this is such a great way to protect and pack your Blazers something that not a lot of people think about but is going to be my next tip is to bring your own cute little tote bag to go shopping in so in Europe when you go to the grocery store or even when you go shopping period you will always get charged about 10 to 30 cents a bag to just carry your items out of the store so if you want to avoid getting charged it's obviously it's not much but if you want to get a cute tote bag where you can like put your items that you just purchased as you go out and about shopping in Europe this is a great way to not only be eco-friendly and sustainable but to also look cute so I always bring mine from Studio through my brand you actually get one free with each purchase over $100 and I designed it to be super cute black and white so that it matches with everything and I find I just use it so much when I'm traveling it is so efficient one of the ways that you can make your travel bag a lot lighter is by always traveling with a miniature size or a travel size version of your makeup products and skincare products so here I want to show you what I do with my full-sized Foundation my favorite powder by Laura Mercier and some other examples I always either buy or I use a traveling size version so that my makeup bag is a lot lighter and your bag overall is a lot lighter for travel this is a game Cher and just so important in order for your bag not to weigh you down when you're traveling so now that we're done with this we're going to pack my makeup bag back into my carry-on as you can tell the jackets really help secure all the items together before I place the elastic so that the items below my jackets are not moving around now I'm going to zip this bad boy up and I'm going to move on to the next portion of packing for the video which is packing your personal bag so tip number eight is to pack all of your most used Essentials that you know you're going to need throughout the flight in this bag so it's important and key as I said in the very beginning of this video that your personal bag has compartments to help keep everything organized I love this bag because this one's by Samsonite I've owned it for 2 years and I find it to be so practical it comes with its own two pouches so this one I use for skin care my serums my toothbrush but the other one as you saw I use for my computer and then I don't know about you but I love to be comfortable on the flights so amongst my computer my cables I bring a pair of Buzzy socks so that I can change and I also bring my hairbrush my sleeping mask in case I want to take a little nap on the flight my hair is scrunchy because you never know and my deod an so this last step is just super fun it's not mandatory by any means I like to always personalize my things with a personalized keychain this one's super cute and fluffy and now let's move on to the front compartment so the front compartment I find that these are my essentials on every single flight I'm not a huge fan of like the beverages that they have on the airplane so I like bone broth tea my Clorox wipes are key for me and then this last step is so important obviously your European cables and outlets and then last but not least your USB cable to charge any devices that you have on the flight so that is it for this video I hope you learned a lot and if you did definitely feel free to give it a like down below so it'll save into your liked videos and you can archive it and look back at it for reference anytime you need to also feel free to subscribe if you enjoy fashion and styling content I love to film these videos for you guys
