How To Open A Broken Garage Door, Broken Spring

okay in this video I'm going to show you how to get your cars out of the garage if your spring broke and the cars are in there and you have a very heavy door if you've got a single door you might be able to do this easily by just pulling on the red cord and then lifting the door up but if it's a big double door like this and you don't have an army of people around to help you you can do this on your own by helping the door out you got a spring on the right spring on the left this one on the right is broken essentially these Springs to store a bunch of energy and when the tiny motor in your garage door opener starts pulling these springs assisted if the right spring is open there's not as much assistance and the door won't the motor won't be able to lift the door so I'm going to replace the spring with the power of myself by standing over here I'm gonna push the button for the garage door opener and then as the door goes up I'm going to assist it just by pushing up on on these bars and it should go up pretty easy let's give it a try okay there we go I've got the remote as my left hand we're gonna hit the bottom to keep my feet clear of the sensors as soon as the door starts moving I'm going to lift it up [Music] the does get lighter the further goes up which helps okay to reverse the process and get the door down you can't hit the bump and let it down it's going to come down a little bit faster because it only has one spring so to keep that other spring from breaking or something else from breaking you do want to assist it on the way down also because the springs do aid in that process as well my feet were in front of sensors [Music] there you go call the repairman or do it yourself and be careful
