hello everyone today I'm going to show you how I did this design it's a rainbow smoke design so let's get right into it I'm showing you on tips today how I did this design so I started off with using just a regular black gel polish you can do two coats of this if you want to I did one because we're going to put the smoke on top of this so if it's not completely opaque it's fine just make sure that you get it smooth and covered around the edges [Music] [Music] once I've finished painting all of the nails I'm going to cure them for 60 seconds in my lap so after they've been cured I'm just going ahead and removing the sticky layer with some rubbing alcohol if you want to you can topcoat this step instead to get rid of the sticky surface but it's optional you don't have to do that I'm choosing not to do it because I don't want to bulk out the nail because we're gonna topcoat it anyway in the end so once the sticky layer is removed from the nails I'm going to put a small amount of rubbing alcohol in a container I'm then going in with just regular small cheap brush that I don't really care for because it's going into the alcohol and I'm using some white gel color [Music] then it's time to go in and make the smoke so starting off you can just do whatever you feel like and just start to swirl around the paint do it kind of sparingly but not too sparingly because when you put the alcohol in it will bloom out [Music] then I'm going to clean my brush and put it in the rubbing alcohol and just tap tap tap on the uncured white gel paint I decided here to switch brushes because it wasn't holding enough liquid so this is just another brush that is just an angled brush it doesn't matter what brush you use as long as it's you know it can hold liquid I guess so anyway I'm just going back in and continuing to tap on the uncured gel paint to make it disperse a little bit and turn into this nice smoke effect if you feel that you've taken too much off you can always go back in with some more gel paint and just tap tap-tap until you are happy with the end result do not cure it just put it to dry and move on to the other nails and do the same thing [Music] [Music] [Music] after all of the nails are done I'm just going to clean my brush and go back into the rubbing alcohol and just clean up some of the spill and mess so just clean up the black parts of the nail just so that after you curate the pigment won't get stuck to the black surface [Music] once you're happy go ahead and cure it in the left now to the really fun part we're going to use the pigments so here I have six neon pigments so it's not quite the rainbow but pretty close it's colorful and lively and I really like them so after you've taken the nails out of the lamp do not remove the sticky layer the sticky layer needs to be on the nail then I'm just going to use these eyeshadow applicators that no one ever uses for eyeshadow anymore they're only used for nails so then I'm just going in with the pigment powder and I'm just going to tap it where I want it and it will just adhere to the sticky layer and careful to get this on your clothes as it's very very pigmented obviously because it's pigments so just be mindful of your surroundings and maybe like don't have a fan next to your table when doing this so then when you're happy with one color you will just go in with the next and make sure that the colors match each other so that they follow kind of the gradients that you want [Music] [Music] once all the pigments are on the nail I'm going ahead using this tiny fan brush just to dust off the excess and then I'm just going to put my brush in a little bit of alcohol just to clean up the black in case any of the pigments got stuck on the black just to make it really really crisp then what I like to do to get a cohesive look in a set I always start with a color that I lost used on the previous nail so in this case I used the yellow lost so I'm going to use the yellow first and I'm just gonna clean it around and then I'm going back in to use the last color that I used just to like get a continuous color pattern [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] once I'm happy with the look I'm just going in with a topcoat and I'm using just a very light hand just so I will not drag any of the pigment down the nail and ruin the design so yeah just keep a light hand on the brush [Music] [Music] before you go back with the brush in the bottle of topcoat please make sure that you don't have any pigments on your brush then you might have to just wipe it off on a paper towel before putting it back into the bottle then just go ahead and cure for 60 seconds in the lamp so this is the finished result I think it's absolutely gorgeous I just really love the colors and its really fitting when the Sun is started to come out more in the spring so thank you so much for watching please like and subscribe and I will see you in the next video bye [Music]
