that's what I need a wire shaft the first element in making your home inline spinners now inline spinners are some of the fish catching its devices you can make yourself trout bass pan fish Muskies just about anything will hit an inline spinner now you can buy these things in the store MEPS rooster tails great great brands but if you buy your own lure making kit you can make dozens scores of inline spinners for not much money at all order a kit and it comes with all kinds of components let me show you how to work through one from beginning to finish here's that wire shaft that we found right at the beginning we're just going to take that we're going to choose a treble hook and feed it right onto the short end of that wire shaft now having a fly vise helps it's certainly not a requirement but if you have a fly vise you can take your hook and go ahead and get it seated firmly in the jaws and it's going to hold it there for you as you work on this so you're going to just choose a spinner body pretty simple one I'm going to keep this lure very simple so we can see exactly how you put it together spinner body goes on the wire shaft I'm going to pinch the two pieces of that wire shaft together and seat it all the way down snug now at this point you get to choose how you want your spinner body to look you can choose a colored light bead you can choose a heavier bead to make your lure sink a little bit quicker you can also choose just a simple bearing to make the clevis spin a little quicker we're going to go real simple with this and go ahead and grab our stirrup clevis here and our blade and we're going to hold it to the concave part of the blade goes on to the bottom of the stirrup clevis you could pin it there with a finger bring it back over to our wire shaft and thread that entire clevis onto the shaft that's a pretty simple spinner here and that's what I wanted just to show you the components and how they line up the last step is you take a pair of needle nose pliers and grasp firmly about a quarter of an inch up from that clevis grasp it firmly and now you're never going to move your pliers grip it remove the spinner body take your wire shaft bend it over the top of the needle nose pliers around 270 degrees that's 3/4 of the way and now all you do is wrap that wire twice around the spinner shaft that's once and that's twice take it off the needle nose pliers and all you have to do is come in and trim the tag end off of your spinner look at that we've got a simple inline spinner that's going to catch just about every fish you throw at it you
