what if we use canola oil or should we use sunflower doesn't matter similar viscosity so the temperature is always the same exactly right welly balls v is for fit cook today we have a very special guest in the studio he's a food aficionado please welcome on the show one of my old old friends willow balls aren't you in all those ads i've seen you on billboards i mean if you don't recognize me from the billboards you might recognize me from the ads which ads i'm the guy from there what are we gonna make today today we are making a very traditional and firm family fun favorite of the south african nation fit cook or fit cooker you will need one kilogram of flour half a cup of oil four teaspoons of sugar one packet of instant yeast four cups of lukewarm water and a pinch of salt it's dough time team open up the yeast and pour it in a large bowl pinch of sugar add about half of your water but you don't need to be too scientific about it because bread is not a science i disagree give the yeast a little swirl and wait five minutes wait for it to froth [Music] check it doesn't look very fresh but there's bubbles so we're popping in the flour the sugar the salt now we're gonna start giving it a mix while i add the water a little bit by little bit a little bit more that's too much oh this feels so nice it's actually easier to add the oil inside the bowl otherwise it's a big mess now that we've taken it out the bowl we're gonna knead it for about five minutes you know dough actually likes to be slightly mistreated no it does [Music] we're gonna pop it on a bowl cover it it [Music] is to rise gluten is happening it's science in the brain okay brazil science okay we're going to let it rise well enough of your shenanigans 45 minutes what you're going to do in that time now i'm going to do setups now that the dough is risen we're gonna make our fit cook into little balls today volleyballs has got a trick to showers take a big piece of dough like this roll it up with your hands take your fingers pinch it pull it two perfect eyeballs and you know why it's always the same size why because your hand is always percent size suzel please will you just pop that down on that board fry off it cook heat up about four centimeters of oil a lot of people ask me woody balls how do you know that the oil is hot enough what you do is you just take a little peepee of the stove then you roll it in your fingers like this just pop it in if it sinks the oil is not hot enough but if it sinks starts to bubble floats to the top the oil is perfect just like that look at that look at that tiny little fit cooper i'm going to give that to all my friends that i have and then we're going to put it in the oil oh no that's gorgeous so the oil must be quite low the oil must be quite low you don't want boiling hot oil because then the bread just burns and it's doughy on the inside it'll almost be doing this and you must feel it in your bowels it's very instinctual this is what these it's not going like this no just more going away slowly like this time to turn the vehicle willy how old were you when you first made it uh you know i can't even remember it feels like just probably about 25 years ago so you just gotta bob them around in the oil a bit until you're sure they're cooked how you can tell they're cooked you just gotta do the little hair test i don't actually know if there is a hearing test for this let's remove the fit cook from the oil beautiful fit little cooks and pop it in cinnamon sugar because we're gonna make a churros let's pop some chocolate spread into a piping bag don't mock me make a little incision put your piping bag right in there and squeeze make a little sweetie there look at it it's so gorgeous drink that chocolate spread and finally dust a little bit of icing sugar on top raise it oh now we got the dessert done let's get on to savory i agree well we're going to be making bacon and egg beignets just in time for breakfast now we're going to cut them in off like little buns sent from heaven ah that's perfectly cooked add some delicious chutney it's chutney not chocolate i used to think it was chutney for a very long time it's chutney right until i was an adult let's blot on some cheese some bacon well i've fried up some eggs to place on top final flourish some rocket salt and pepper pop on the lid say it lily leave it and there you have it some delicious sweet and savory thick cook from our hearts and recipe books to your eyeballs and beliefs diy because anybody can cheers it's unbelievable easy and it's unbelievable even though it's cold volleyball actually has its own little deli in sea point it is suspending office money super on office route and key point shout out to seaport we're gonna feel like fit cooked after this laundry we're gonna look like a fake cook this is just this is just looks like a little bit of meat when i'm lying on my back
