hey guys this is jasmine thank you for clicking on my video and if you're interested in this brown sugar honey butter cornbread recipe just keep watching all right so first i'm starting out with my deep glass pie dish you can use a cast iron skillet if you like but i'm going to put this into it into the oven that i already have pre heated to 400 degrees fahrenheit and i'll tell you why i do that later first i'm starting off with some jiffy cornbread muffin mix and i'm going to use two boxes [Music] i'm just gonna go ahead and follow the directions on the side of the box so i'm gonna add two eggs [Music] now i'm just going to go ahead and add in my milk i'm using um 2 3 cup of milk following the recipe on the side of the box i am using 2 percent milk but you can use whichever milk you like now i'm gonna start doing my own thing and i'm gonna add in 1 3 cup of sour cream i'm using full fat sour cream and i know a lot of people like buttermilk but i just feel like sour cream is really where the moisture is at [Music] now i'm going to add in two capfuls of pure vanilla extract to give it a nice vanilla flavor [Music] now i'm adding in one half cup of light brown sugar and i made sure to pack the cup tight now you just want to go in and mix everything all up for about one minute [Music] now i'm just taking that pie dish out of the oven and be careful because it will be really hot now i'm taking a tablespoon of butter and you just want to melt this all over that pie dish or your cast iron skillet make sure you get the sides and the edges make sure the butter is everywhere and at this point guys you should be hearing that butter sizzle on the pan that's how you know that the pan is hot enough now we're just going to go ahead and pour our cornbread mixture into the pan guys and the reason why we want the pan to be hot is because we want to we want the edges of the cornbread to be like the edges of a brownie nice and chewy and we want the center to be soft and delicate to the point it almost just melts in your mouth now we're just going to put that back into our 400 degree oven and cook that for about 20 to 22 minutes now we're going to start with our topping i'm using four tablespoons of butter i am using my favorite kind of butter which is european butters 85 butter fat it really makes a difference and i'm just going to put that in the microwave for about 20 seconds to get it nice and soft not melted but soft i'm going to whisk that now i'm adding in my honey the kind of honey i'm using is raw honey i actually got it from a honey farm and it's um it's in a solid kind of a form but you can also get this at walmart or any produce store i'm just going to use two tablespoons of it [Music] and the last thing i'm going to add is 1 4 teaspoon of salt i know you see me just pouring it in my hand but it's about 1 4 teaspoon and just go ahead and give mix that all together really well all right and after about 21 minutes it is done i know you see it dented in the middle that's because i had stuck a fork in it to make sure it was done now as soon as that cornbread come out of the oven the first thing you want to do is add that honey butter topping on top guys um when you first put it on there it's going to seem like it's just sitting on there like a glazed doughnut like a glass but just wait about a minute or two and just allow that honey butter to infuse into that top layer of the cornbread this cornbread is so so so so good you guys um i love to eat this cornbread in the fall time sometimes i just wake up in the morning one of those cold mornings and just make me a pan of cornbread you can really enjoy this with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate love this cornbread with some fried cabbage or spicy jambalaya or red beans and rice this cornbread is so good you guys you can take it out the oven and put a scoop of butter pecan ice cream on top of vanilla like i'm serious all right guys it's all done i'm just cutting into it so i can give you guys a better look i hope you enjoyed this recipe it turned out perfect just how i like it i wish the camera could really pick up the beautiful gold brownness of this cornbread guys but this cornbread will just melt in your mouth you don't even have to chew it it's so good thank you for watching if you like this video go ahead and like and subscribe and leave a comment and i'll see you guys next time bye
