How to make the BEST DEFENSE TYPE in Beyblade!

[Applause] Ty beblade what's good YouTube it's your boy TF flame T go t get it off till I can't get no more and today I'm going to be breaking down the the defense type in Beyblade and how you can actually build a defense type that does what defense is supposed to do the best right so in the show it it is explained that defense types are supposed to be able to tank attacks from attack types but lose the stamina types because they don't have enough stamina uh as much stamina as as as a stamina type right however most of the defense types released by Beyblade either katomi or Hasbro both of them not a lot of them really do what defense types are supposed to do to the best of the ability in the show they show that defense types are are are defending right but in actuality a lot of the defense type releases don't do that like for example Rock Leon has a decent like parts that can be used for defense count um rock can it has a good amount of recoil so what it can do is cancel out a lot of the attack power of other attack Bay but why is Rock Leon not good for defense well that that's what we're going to be describing and explaining in today's video so um looking at some of the defense type releases right so we got rock Leon I got a bunch of them here probably the worst example of a defense type is this thing right here this is counter Scorpio 145d you know a lot of flws that defense types have is well even the greatest defense type I think has that was released Twisted Tempo has the flaw that a lot of Defense types have that is this right here 145 145 is a really bad spin track for defense why and that's the main reason why Leon is not great if you switch the S spin track on Leon you'll have a lot better Beyblade um so the reason why 145 height is not good for defense types is because it makes you vulnerable your whole thing is you're supposed to be able to take attacks but 145 you you got this Gap people you could get uppercut bro you get a sure you can bro and you're supposed to be able to take the sh you can but if you're able to get uppercut a lot of attack types like a lot of attack types that are good especially in competitive Beyblade this we're going to be focusing mainly on the Limited Format which bans a lot of 4D Parts but we'll touch on some other banned Parts in Beyblade but um that's just for context but a lot of the the great attack type in Beyblade they what they do is here's an example we have Samurai Pegasus uh w105 RF right this is a low Beyblade and so the idea of this is it can get under Beyblades and deliver good attacks because of Leon's height Pegasus can get underneath and and destabilize it and knock it out which is why Leon and a lot of Defense types that have 145 spint track are not great uh so we're going to go over how to build the best defense type but ju just going out there that that's reason why a lot of Defense types are bad um the stock defense types right so we also have another bad stock defense type is going to be Vulcan herius you know defense types can defend in one of two ways either a they cancel out the attack of the opponent or B they try to have as least amount of recoil as possible so that way attack types don't do that much damage right so an example of a wheel that does this really well the the cancellation of of of um the attacks right so not really generating any recoil is Earth because of how round it is attack types aren't going to be able to generate recoil off of this barely so uh Earth is a good example of this a good example of a of a fusion wheel that can sort of be used to to counter uh attack we can either look at preh hybrid Leon or Rock because they generate a good amount of recoil and this recoil can in a sense out recoil the attack attack types recoil right but the problem with Vulcan herius is that Vulcan generates a lot of recoil and the tip the tip defense is not good for defense at all now despite the defense type performance tips so you got defense wide defense and semide defense all having defense in the title none of these are actually really good for defense why really because the defense typee is you're supposed to be able to take attacks and not get blown out the stadium these tips may offer good stamina all these tips are good stamina tips but they do not have the defense needed to be able to withstand recoil so not only does Vulcan kusus generate its own recoil right any other recoil it takes is going to help it knock itself out of the stadium so this combo is not great for defense at all uh so yeah getting into the next part of the video defense tips I know a lot of people may think why defense is great for defense it's mainly good for stamina the main reason why you may think why defense is good for defense is because of Earth eagle and Twisted Tempo Twisted Tempo is only good even though I told you why 145 is bad and why w why defense is not good for defense because it's mainly good for stamina why is this good at defense it's just because of wait this thing is really heavy that's another aspect about defense types you want to make them as heavy as possible which is why it's always good to use a metal face on them um so really this comes down to weight and Earth eagle comes down to just not Earth being really good if anything this combo is actually not great you want to put Earth eagle on a lower spin trike and then it'll be even better right but this is even a defense type this is a balance type because it combines defense and stamina a lot why defense stamina uh Earth stamina SL defense so that's why it's a balance type I always thought growing up this should have been defense type but no no I understand it's a balance type now but like I said when over Twisted Tempo so how are we going to build the Ideal Balance type well I mean not balance type how are we going to build the ideal defense type well let's go over a couple of Defense types released in stock that are actually pretty good so the first couple of Defense types I want to go over that are actually good in their stock is both the cuses right I know you may not see these a lot but these are both really good examples of Defense types so I'd say blue seed is a little more than normal than white cedus but both of them are good in their own right now Grand is not great for defense because it is light and you do want to maximize your to maximize your defense you're going to want some weight but the thing that gr does well is that it's really round so that means you're not going to have a lot of recoil being generated right so that means you're able to take attacks because you're not giving off as much recoil right so the reason why like something like uh something that would be horrible for defense would be like Blitz is because it generates way too much recoil you can't really use this for defense at all um another thing that would not be good for def is if you use the flame Fusion wheel because it is way too freaking light so Grand while it is light it's not as light as some other things right um but the main part about both these Bays is they come with rubber tips RS RS was is one of the greatest defense tips and rubber even though it's used for attack is also really good for defense why because remember with defense you want to tank attacks right and rubber because the contact with the stadium is going to have a whole bunch of friction meaning it's going to be harder to move a Beyblade when it's making when the contact is on the stadium is rubber because rubber creates friction friction means it's harder to move the Beyblade right so that means with rubber sharp you're not going to be moving a lot and when you get attacked you're going to be able to tank attacks a lot more which is why rubber sharp is really good for defense but in general any rubber tip is going to be good for defense the best defense types that you could ever create in competitive Beyblade will have a rubber tip so this includes parts that you may not think would be good for defense one of the biggest things is if you didn't know anything about competitive Beyblade Cod sharp from Blitz I mean from Ray Unicorno you would not think this would be good for defense because you see Rubber and it was on attack type meaning you think this be good for attack but it's actually really good for defense because you have rubber this rubber means when the Beyblade tilts it's going to give it some defense meaning when the Beyblade starts like when a Beyblade tilts it's going to land on the rubber the rubber's going to create friction make it harder to knock out also gives Beyblade life after death which is basically how much the Beyblade can wobble right without uh when it losing its balance how much the Beyblade can wobble without dying right and so this little plastic tip once it starts wobbling the rubber will create friction helping the Beyblade stay stay up right also things like rubber flat you know rubber is good for attack but also a worn rubber flat like this a warn r2f it's going to be good for defense as well because it's going to create a lot of friction right you also got things like rubber ball that'd be good and just um and another thing where is it hold up I got it somewhere here we go rsf which was another attack type uh this was released on two attack types you got Ray Gill and Ray ra and um Blitz Striker you think this be good for um attack but in all actuality let me just show you when you launch it it's aggressive but it's not as aggressive and because this is rubber contact it's going to be good for defense as well so that's the tips you're going to want to use for a defense type will always be a rubber tip but uh another really good stock combo is Jay Jupiter in terms of just explaining what defense is it's not the greatest at defense because J Jupiter does have recoil right here see these gaps that's going to generate recoil but it does good in two things weight because you got the metal balls this has a good amount of weight and then you also got a rubber ball which is going to be good for defense because well as we explained rubber contact now on to the spin tracks the greatest spin tracks for defense are not on defense Bay which is kind of freaking crazy like I said the defense they love releasing defense Bays with like 145 right and then with with grand cedus you do get WD 145 which the good thing about this is that it adds weight but it also kind of adds recoil because of these gaps and you do lose life after death meeting when the Beyblade wobbles and this hits the side of the stadium it's going to scrape right um let's go over one uh one one thing right quick that is actually not good for defense again it has defensive name ET Eternal defense why is this not good for defense well it has the same problem as um where did I put cedus it has the same problem as uh WD 145 on on on um Grand cedus now Grand cedus you see the the the horns don't move but on the interal defense they do move they both don't help even though this spins when it hits the side of the stadium it's still going to scrape this is not really good for defense at all um so what actually is good for defense well the spin there's quite a few spin tracks that are good for defense all of them have the same thing in common you got BD 145 elevator 145 what mean wait BD 145 elevator 230 and then we got SP 230 then we got uh sa 165 and then we got gravity ball gravity ball is probably the most different out of have tips attached to these but gravity ball is the most different as you can see all of these the main thing is they have these big discs which add a lot of weight and remember how said defense types you want to be as bulky as possible these all add a good amount of weight like a makes a difference right and so when you have when your weight when your Beyblade is heavier than your opponent's Beyblade it's going to make the it really hard for them to knock you out right and it also kind of helps in a life after death battle even if you're going up against a stamina type if a defense type has a significant weight Advantage there's a chance the defense type could overpower the stamina type just because it's bulkier and heavier right so all these tracks are banned in The Limited Format mainly because they they are really good at at at uh defending but hey if you do the 40 format or the standard format in metalight Beyblade these are allowed they all are really good at defense um even this you can only a BD 1445 you can only use it on like if you're not using on Hell or haes kex you're going to have to use it like this but when you add a tip like uh this is popularly paired with rubber defense flat because it has Rubber and it has this ring so it can like wobble and stuff you can also add it on like CS which has the thing where it says like I told you once the Beyblade starts to tilt it kind of stands back up because of the rubber you can really get bypass the weakness this has um but regardless all these add a lot of weight and are going to be good for defense so if you're playing Ju Just For Fun you want to build a good defense type feel free to use these but if you're using um in other formats you know certain things are banned right but this is one of my favorite spin tracks to use for defense combos uh GB 145 just because Gravity Balls it's going to add a good amount of weight it does make you taller but because of the shape doesn't really add that much recoil makes you a little bit more vulnerable but compared to this I look at this 14 five it's just blank it doesn't add any weight but with this at least you get more of a shape that can help defend against lower Beyblades and you get more weight so this could also be things if you want to use some like s SW 145 or any other the gimmick spin tracks even though Eed 145 is not the great greatest at least it adds weight you don't have anything else at least be trying to build around and you're trying to build a defense type try to build it around weight at least right um the next track that's going to be really good for defense that's um it's going to be good for defense that um is not released on defense all those tracks that I just showed you were not even released on defense type this was on a stamina type this was on a attack type uh sa 160 I'm not I don't remember what that one was on uh GB 145 this was on a stamina type this r45 was actually on a defense type it was on rock zerafa and uh this is rubber and rubber like I said creates friction and with the fence when attack type hits rubber it's going to have it's going to be a lot of friction at that point of contact making the attack BL blade lose a lot of stamina right so you may think rubber does that mean something like medial L Drago would be good at defense kind of but not really medial Drago is going to be best at stamina because it's going to be equalizing and spin stealing you're going to want to build stamina around this not really defense the only defense El Drago you could probably use is a Drago Guardian uh which is round but the thing you got to worry about this is is the rubbers on the bottom so if the Beyblade tilts and the rubber makes contact with Stadium you're going to spin out really quick so all that being said oh I got to take a little Swig of water we stay hydrated around here I got to take a swig of water cuz I'm thirsty that was a lot of talking with all that being said let's build a defense combo also let me know your favorite defense combos in the comment section down below like I said we're going to be focusing on The Limited Format so I'm not just going to build something with Basalt or Twisted Tempo we're going to use some really common parts right so first things first what we're going to do is we're going to pick a we're going to use a metal face bolt of course like I said you're going to want to make sure you use metal right so we got the metal face bolt there now energy Rings you're going to want to add something that has a decent amount of weight to it or a good amount of weight to it so I recommend things like bull Leon but you know this doesn't matter but weight you do want the most weight regardless so I'm going to use Leon it's one of my favorite um energy Rings now in terms of Defense side fusion wheels let's go over some good things you could use preh hybrid Leon but it depends on your build we will go you know what we're going to go over both I'm going to try to build both a types of Defense types you got like a one I said sort of like called the Counterattack sort of um defense type and then we're going to have like just normal defense Ty so right now let's focus on the defense type that's round right so the one that's going to sort of help um eliminate any chance of like recoil being being sustained right so um in order to eliminate recoil there's a couple of wheels that are good at this the top two are going to be either Earth or oh wait this is my damaged Earth oops see that little part right there it's damaged uh where's my other Earth let's use the Earth from Earth Earth eagle okay so here we're going to have Earth and we got bakushin bakushin was released on attack types but it's actually really good for defense because it's like it almost is like rock but a lot smoother because Rock has this slope Design This is like really sloped so it like kind of like stops attacks from being as effective right so you're going to be two of your best uh defense Wheels other things that people use for defense are like burn because it's round but Earth is heavier than burn I think burn is better for stamina rather than defense um but basically if you're going to go mainly for the round route you could also use something like um where is it at I was going to say here it is you can also use something like preh hybrid Libra as well these are going to be I got to say probably your Pinnacle of Defense types if you're going for the round route so we're going to stick with Earth cuz I think this is the most common one that people have right so we're going to go earth right and spin track now there's two ways you could go with this I know that I have said wait but at the end of the day you're going to want to make sure you can take hits the most so even though this adds weight you do you do if you go on 145 had a chance of uh low Beyblades with lower Heights being able to like uppercut you right so to limit that we're going to go with d120 just because I like d120 it's not it's not tall but it's not short I mean it's it's like a good middle track but it's towards the the shorter end of things and last but not least we are going to go with here it is our tip is going to be if it wants to come off of this spin track uhoh all bear with me bear with me our spin track is going to be coat sharp right this is like Unicorno Parts you literally if Unicorno where Unicorno had a better ener better spin track would have been a real good defense type anyway here's a defense type build basic um that's going to be able to tank attacks right so we'll do a little bit of uh testing with that do a little demo right and so if we're going to do another defense type a one that is focused on you know sort of that anti-attack roll what we're going to do is we're going to make um let's make one that's like on that anti-attack roll type so I'm going to go with we're going to go with here we go I'm going to build I'm just building the combo right here the other combo that's going to be mainly sort of like the anti-attack roll it's going to be right here just getting the parts together we're going to do sorry here we go we have Leon 100 rubber ball this is going to be the anti-attack one using recoil to beat The Recoil right so let's get into battling so we're going to use two we're going to use a couple of attack types um let me get another one right quick I thought I had this one out I guess I did not one of my real good attackers oh wait do I already have it out and I just didn't notice oh yeah I do it's right here so two sort attackers we're going to be using to kind of like simulate all the attack types are pretty much going to be somewhere in this ballpark either going to have the upper attacker which is going to be um the example here we have ketac codal pre ketac W 105 r2f see how has this nice upper shape this is going to allow it to get under Beyblades and give really good attacks then we have Pegasus r145 RF being able to counter taller Beyblades so first things first we're going to start with our Earthly own combo and we're going to put sorts where did I put the combos that I said we were getting ready to battle that is the that is the uh oh wait here they are all right so launch Leon first now there is I did kind of mess up that launch but there is a trick to launching these defense types so as you can see it's pretty much able to shut out ketac Coto that's also what happens when there's a weight difference attack types are going to struggle when you are able to build on um when you have enough weight behind now that was a good hit now there are chances like no Beyblade combo is perfect like there was a chance I got knocked out there but when you build the best defense type the chances of getting knocked out are kept at a low right but particularly with the round defense types even how round it is to get to like have the highest chance of not being knocked out you actually don't want to launch it as hard as possible because even though this is smooth smoth when it's spinning really really fast the chances of recoil happening are are increased right so if you launch this really hard the chance of getting knocked out is higher just because it's spinning faster meaning you have a higher chance to to to create recoil so you really obviously you don't want to launch it like stupid slow like that um unless you were like using an old Drago or something but you want to launch it like not as hard so something like that right this will increase your defense because you're not you won't be generating as much recoil and because of how much stamina you have against an attack type attack types don't have a lot of stamina so you you you you have enough stamina to to beat the attack type even if you're not launching as hard as possible right I know a lot of people think hey you got to launch as hard as possible but that really depends on your bait um so I'm going to launch with attack types you do want to launch those as hard as possible because you're going to want to create as much recoil as possible but as you can see the weight difference really most of attack types are going to have a metal face here so let me just to make it fair to make this Fair let me put a metal face on KET Cotto as well just because you know someone might say hey it's because you don't have a metal face on it let's just put a metal face on it um ju like I said just ju just to make it fair all right here we go so now we got both B got metal faces I launched it relatively hard there but still see you're still able to tank those attacks because like I said you're round enough to tank the attacks Now launch that good enough I'm trying to launch KAC really hard oh see sometimes you could still get knocked out right but let me launch that [Music] softer see lot of direct attacks and you are going to be able able to outlast now let's move on to the other attack type we got a pegasus r145 RF see yep there we go and just to show you how other defense types would not be great at this we even got pre- Scorpio which supposed to be defense type but look how hollow that thing is I wonder for last thing goles let's see how good a stock defense type does oh oh my god wow I mean maybe cuz oh no I was going to say maybe because this round was going to win no it just got knocked out really easily there all right but anyway now let's try the other defense type we got the more aggressive one this one you do want to launch a little harder just because the idea with this one is you counter the recoil so I launched that a little harder as you can see this one because of the rubber tip pure rubber tip it's doing a better job of like taking the attacks head on but the problem with an all rubber tip is you do lose stamina really fast so the weak of these guys when you use a real a complete rubber tip is you're not going to have a good amount of stamina as you saw Leon was about to run out of stamina whereas this one had a good amount of stamina left at the end of the at the end of the battle so as you can see Pegasus is really struggling against this combo it's like every single hit is like not really doing that much and this one doesn't even have a a metal face bolt and it's able to the handle Pegasus now let's try this one against this one has a metal face that's a total now let's see how this goes see look at that even Kota with a metal face this thing is able to tank those hits this thing is able to tank those hits even though Koto has a putting has a weight Advantage because of the metal face it is still able to tank those hits that's cuz it's able to like cancel out the attack types recoil using its own recoil yeah that was a little knockout I think that was mainly because of the weight difference but still oh that was a bad launch on my part when I relaunched those yep little knock out let's see tanking those attacks yep and rubber and rubber tips because they don't move a lot attack types can sometimes struggle to hit them because sometimes a well a lot of the time rubber tips can stay in the middle and not really move a lot that's particularly with RS why it's so good is that attack types can struggle to hit it because um rubber tips when used for defense like the non-aggressive ones they do not move a whole lot so as you can see up it got got a knockout but still as you see it's able to take hits right now there's times in Beyblade even if you have the greatest defense type you can just still get knockout that's just the way the game goes but hopefully this video showed you like a good amount of like how to build an actually good defense type like let's use stock Grand cedus right here just to see how good this is against attack um or against like um yeah see how good this is at defending attack type Beyblade so um we're going to use as an attack type where is uh had another attack type I want to use ah here we go we're going to use Cosmic Unicorno 90 r2f so let's see yeah this is a stock Beyblade and it's able to take on a really good competitive combo as you can see that's how good you know rubber attack is it's going to be really good at uh just tanking the attach right so I mean realistically you could put rubber ball on some like Earth and have like the best tank um but like I said when you use the the the problem when you use like complete rubber is you do um make yourself vulnerable the stamina types but even against like stamina types that's where sometimes defense can get a little better if you can be still be good is if you use like something that has recoil that's why what the benefit comes with using something like own because even if let's say you go into the stamina type right that has more stamina than you you can sometimes generate enough recoil to hopefully get The Knockout now I'm not sure if we're going to get the knockout here but that's the the like sometimes the benefit you get when you use as you can see Leon's getting off good attacks you know it's going to struggle cuz you don't have the complete like attack it's it's not doesn't have the most aggressive tip in the world but against some stamina types if you are able to like generate enough recoil you can get a good knockout sometimes like oh damn but in this case Leon got knocked out but anyway I hope this video taught you more about defense types let me know what your favorite defense type combo is in the description
