hello and welcome to another episode is she is a cup today we are going to be making brown rice I failed tremendously trying to make brown rice I finally figured it out and I'm hoping today I can show you that I finally [Music] hello and welcome to another episode is she is a cook with Tia Maria Arnold's today we are going to be making brown rice brown rice okay so this recipe is pretty much taken from my original rice recipe my rice I can make some rice I love rice I love cooking rice years and years over ten years of burning rice frying rice boiling rice so I know my rice and so brown rice when I started to try to eat healthier brown rice was obviously the right option and I failed tremendously trying to make brown rice but I finally figured it out and I'm hoping today I can show you that I finally figured it out so we have about two cups of brown rice I'm doing two cups because I am serving six people so and two of them are big men and so they are well and my son they all like to eat so three of them are guys who like to eat sro always want to make sure I have enough so we have our two cups of brown rice I have two tablespoons of butter if you were just doing one cup that you can do one tablespoon of butter and then I have now this is a special these little things right here those are chicken cubes I normally use powder but because we are during this coronavirus thing I don't have my powder and also they were out of chicken broth which is what I normally use I normally don't use water but I can substitute by adding more these so normally I would do one cube but because I don't have chicken broth I'm going to have three cubes today and this right here is my little special seasoning mix it is kosher salt normally you would do about one teaspoon of kosher salt I did about well normally just do one teaspoon of regular Sophos since I'm using kosher salt I'm doing a teaspoon with the I guess I guess it is one teaspoon with two cups of rice so with regular salt you would do one teaspoon with one cup of rice but with kosher 1 teaspoon with 2 cups of rice also the seasoning that's in here is a Tuscan seasoning I like to add this to my rice because it gives me amazing flavor it has garlic and salt and toasted onion pepper red bell pepper a little bit of sugar so it just really complements the rice ok so first we're going to do I already have of course and five spine actually five and a half cups of water so why do I do that because I have failed at this so many times I normally did when I put do 4 cups of water it wouldn't cook well and it would end up burning and then when I did five it was a little bit better and I realize that five and a half cups of water give me the type of texture that I like for my rice now some of you may like it a little bit more firm and so then you can do five but the five and a half gives you a nice fluffy brown rice okay so the water is boiling and I'm going to go ahead and add my three cubes okay started just a little bit and then I'm going to add my butter and be very careful don't splash yourself okay and I really like to smell when I cook rice because it kind of tells me you know this it helps me with the seasoning all right so butter is in now I'm gonna go ahead and pour in my two cups of brown rice I had to use a different brand of brown rice because like I said the grocery store is it's just not the same right now because of this virus and so I have to go with what I what I got okay and then the final ingredient is the seizing and this is what's gonna make it smell amazing okay so now I let it sit and boil for about thanks and oh no I let it sit and boil for about five minutes and then after it boils for five minutes then we're going to cover and simmer so I will see you guys in five minutes okay so our rice has been boiling for five minutes so now we're going to put it on low I have low and then two I kind of like to put it you know that and then you cover it and let it simmer for 45 minutes but I always like to check on my rice about 35 minutes just to make sure it's not sticking into the bottom just trying to check on it so you really have to pay attention to it but don't take the top off at least for 35 minutes you'll be okay okay so I will see you back in 35 minutes we'll check it and then if it's ready we'll taste it and if not we'll let it go for another more 10 minutes because I think 45 is about the limit and then I'll see you soon all right so the rice is done it was done at 45 minutes like I thought now like I said before it really depends on the consistency that you like your rice so with what I'm having my rest with today I like it to be a little bit more creamy and so today it is creamy but if you want it less creamy then add only 5 cups of broth instead of 5 and a half and so let's do a taste test [Music] really good I love the texture leverage awesome now I did not add a lot of salt to this because what I'm having it with which is our teriyaki baked chicken it is a little bit more on the salty side so but if you like a little bit more salt you can always add more salt to it at the end but the flavor is great I actually taste the up the Tuscany seasoning this is what okay so if you like these videos that I am asking that you will subscribe to my channel I will be doing more she is a cooking video because I am a cook and I do like this and I've been waiting a long time to be able to share my recipe so come back and see me talk to you later bye [Music] [Music]
