hello everyone and welcome back to my channel today I'm very excited because I'm gonna be sharing my flan recipe and for this we're gonna need 5 eggs we're gonna need 1 can of evaporated milk 1 can of sweetened condensed milk some pure vanilla and also 1/2 a cup of sugar a square pan and a round pan our first step is going to be preparing the caramel sauce and I'm going to add the 1/2 a cup of sugar to my hot pot and make sure that this is spread evenly because we want to make sure that all the sugar gets melted completely all the way and we don't have any lumps so after 5 minutes this is what it should be looking like it looks like the texture of caramel sauce but a little bit more watery so you want to handle this with care because it does get really hot and then also I like to use a wooden spoon because it is heat-resistant and you're not gonna have anything burning or you're not gonna burn your hands so you want to be very careful with this this is going to be the base so we're going to be pouring this into our glass pan and when preparing your caramel sauce make sure to have it in on a low to medium heat because you don't want to burn your sugar your caramel sauce otherwise it will become bitter I am now going to pour the caramel sauce into the baking dish and I'm gonna do this as quickly as possible because once it starts cooling off its gonna start to harden up really quick so don't worry if you miss a step because once you put the flan into the oven it's going to start melting again and it's gonna spread out evenly by itself and then also you want to make sure that you handle this with care because it is really hot and you don't want to burn your hands and that's the reason why I don't touch the dish once I pour in the sugar I leave it I just set it aside [Music] and now I'm gonna start mixing my milk mixture which is the base of the flood and I'm gonna be using a blender for this and I'm gonna be adding my five eggs you're gonna add the whole eggs which means you're adding the yolks and you're adding the whites okay and then we're gonna start mixing the milks so here I'm gonna be adding the sweetened condensed milk and you want to add the entire can and the reason why is because we are not using any sweeteners this is going to be our sweetener for the base okay which I mean it's not that bad it is going to be sweet but not we're not gonna be adding any type of sugar and you want to make sure that you scrape everything out you don't want to leave any any of the sweetener because remember it's the only one we're using and there it is and now we're gonna be adding the evaporated milk the entire can of the evaporated milk and I'm also going to be using one teaspoon of vanilla extract you don't want to use more than a teaspoon because it will get bitter and you don't want to have a bitter tasting flan once you have all your ingredients you're gonna be mixing it blending it for about two minutes you really don't need a lot of blending because it's milk and eggs so after two minutes now we are gonna get ready to pour it into our baking dish and you're gonna be pouring the entire mixture this is about a nine inch round pan baking dish and I'm using the glass but if you don't have a glass dish that is fine you can also use the any type of baking dish so it could be ceramic it could be the the other type of baking dish where you bake your cakes and now we're gonna be putting this into our squared pan because we are gonna do a water bath I am going to use a piece of aluminum foil and I'm gonna cover the top of the baking dish and make sure that you just kind of like fold the edges so the water doesn't get into your flan you are not gonna be adding the water all the way to the top but you know you just want to ensure that it doesn't happen and then I filled up my blender with water and it doesn't matter if it's cold or hot it's still gonna go into the oven that's going to heat up so you just want to pour it and make sure that it doesn't overflow all we need is a little bit of water because all that heat is going to be baking evenly then with a paring knife I'm going to be poking four holes okay and and then after this we are ready to bake it we're gonna bake it for one out my flan is now ready to be transferred to a dish after cooling it overnight I left mine in the fridge for overnight you don't have to do the overnight you can do it in a few hours but I prefer to do it that way and now I'm going to be transferring it to my dish I'm going to be separating the flan now that it's hardened I grab a spatula and I separate all the edges of the flood and I want to make sure that when I flip it it flips completely and it doesn't flip in half or you know you want the entire flan to flip and look nicely on your plate especially if you're going to be serving it for a party or for a family this is a really good dessert so now I'm shaking the dish and and I'm gonna make sure that it's all loosened up and then once it's loosened up then we are ready to flip it and the way that I flip it is that I grab my dish and then I place it on top I grab the handles of the baking dish and then I just turn it around by grabbing both and then you can see that it's nicely flipped you are gonna have all that caramel sauce on the top and now look at that beautiful brown orange color this looks so delicious and now we're gonna be ready to cut it I guarantee you guys this is a really good recipe it's an original flan recipe and I hope everyone enjoys it please make sure to subscribe - like -
