How to make EASY DIY FARMHOUSE DECOR | DIY STOVE TOP COVER | DIY NOODLE BOARD UNDER $20

hello everyone and welcome back to my youtube channel in today's diy video i will be making my own farmhouse stovetop cover or also known as a noodle board so if you're interested in learning how i did this then just keep on watching [Music] do okay so what i did is i went to my home depot and i asked them if they can cut four one by six and these are cut at exactly 29 inches and a half and i also asked them to cut two one by fours and these were cut out exactly 22 inches long [Music] i also found these handles and i believe these were around a dollar a dollar fifty also at home depot and then i am gonna use my screws and these i think they're like a little bit over a quarter a quarter an inch long also i am gonna use my wood glue and my wood stain and this is in the color i believe is weather gray okay and this here is a sticker that i had my sister print out for me it says farmers market and i'm going to be placing this in the center of my stove cover [Music] all right so let's go ahead and get started i am going to start by adding my wood glue on both of my one by fours and what i'm doing here is i'm just adding a little bit of it on both and i will be gluing um all four of my one by six and you'll see right now what i mean [Music] my [Music] okay now i am going to borrow this for my husband i'm not quite sure what these are called i usually just call them the drilling bits and really just to make like drill the holes before you start adding your screws so you're gonna start adding one two so eight sixteen total so two on each side of the wood and you'll see right now what i mean so you're gonna end up with 16 total screws so that's what i'm doing here so try not to go all the way in maybe like halfway um that way it makes it easier for when you start drilling in your screws okay so just in case you guys were wondering i am going to show you the type of screws i am using in this project these are your regular drywall screws and these are one and a quarter inch long [Music] okay so this is how you're going to want to look i like how they drill all the way in and the reason why is so that when you flip it over and place it on top of the stove it won't scratch it okay so what i'm doing here is um i believe these were 22 inches long and i want to place my handles exactly in the center or in the middle of the two ends so that's exactly what i'm doing here i'm not going to be drilling them just yet until i actually stain my wood but i do want to drill the holes that way i already have them ready [Music] so the color that i use remember is called weather gray but you can use any other color there's so many different colors to choose from i am going to start by grabbing an old dirty rag that i have and staining my wood so i will be doing one side and then i'll flip it over and do the next [Music] okay so i have let my stain dry overnight now i am going to screw in both of my handles [Music] okay so now next i am going to want to add my farmer's market sticker and i will be kind of center it and removing my plastic film before i place it onto my wood board [Music] okay so what i'm doing here is i am using a plastic debit card and i am trying to remove any extra bubbles before i remove the top plastic [Music] film [Music] okay so this is the final look i hope you guys like this video please let me know in the comments below what type of videos you would like to see next and also don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel thank you so much for watching and like i always say i will be back with more videos [Music] bye
