TL;DW: here is the circuit.
Note that the middle pin of the MOSFET is connected to the tab (Drain). The gate is on pin 1 (left-most).
Interesting circuit. It looks to me that each MOSFET is driving the subsequent one, but turning on the subsequent one also turns off the previous one, thus producing the spikes on each phase needed for a brushless motor.
Usually you do this with a microcontroller (or a purpose built ESC ASIC), but this is an interesting minimalist approach to at least get the motor spinning.
I guess that it senses the voltage of a winding. When it's positive, it drives the gate of the next MOSFET. The folks at /r/Motors can explain why a winding would become positive (I don't know why).
Is the same circuit as this:

but with three phases instead of two. it doesn't need the capacitor, because the inertia of the motor provides the time constant.
