How to Make Bismuth Crystals At Home

[Music] good morning welcome back guys so today I'm gonna show you how to make business crystals I'm gonna go over every single step in everything that you need to know so that you guys want to try to make these crystals at home you can now every single crystal that I'm making this video I'm gonna give away so make sure that you guys watch to the end of the video so this is what bismuth looks like when you first buy it and I think it looks amazing just like this but I wanted to show you guys what this metal looks like before I melt it down and turn it into crystals now business isn't a lot of things that people use every day it's in pepto-bismol and it's used as an anti acid medication that also treats diarrhea heartburn and nausea and it is commonly known as the pink business so when you drink pepto-bismol you're actually drinking business metal they also use bismuth combined with other metals such as lead 10 and iron and form a Lloyd's with low melting points that can be used in fire detectors and fire extinguishers now bismuth is a chemical element with the symbol bi and the atomic number 83 and business metal has been known since the ancient times and has often been confused with lead and ten which has shared some of its physical properties now I have 10 pounds of bismuth metal that I'm going to melt down and you need at least 5 pounds to grow small crystals but the more metal you have the bigger crystals you can grow now I'm going to start melting down all the metal on my stove and that's one of the amazing things about this metal has that has a very low melting point so it's easy to melt and it's not toxic but make sure that you have a fan on or a window open because you still don't want to breathe in the fumes now business melting point is five hundred and twenty degrees Fahrenheit so it's going to take about twenty minutes to melt ten pounds of this metal on my stove now when you melt this metal down make sure that you use a pan that you don't care about because it will ruin the pan but you can still use it for melting metal but not for cooking food so one of the best things about making crystals out of business is that you can make a whole bunch of crystals and if you don't like them you can melt everything back down and keep trying until you get the crystals that you like [Music] [Music] [Music] now controlling the heat is one of the most important things when it comes to growing beautiful business crystals you want to keep the heat on high until the metal is completely melted down into a liquid and then when you're ready to start growing the crystals you will put the heat on low the don't turn it off and as the metal slowly cools down crystals will start growing on the inside of the pan and the trick is the slower the metal cools down the bigger the crystals will grow now before it cools all the way down you need to remove the top layer this will help the crystals grow faster [Music] now when the top of the liquid metal starts to get hard that's when it's time to pour out the liquid business and see what kind of crystals are growing inside [Music] so when you're working with liquid metal you need to make sure that you have the right safety gear on this stuff is extremely hot and I just want you guys to be safe now that everything is cooled down I'm going to remove the business metal from the pan so it's hard for me to show you guys what I'm looking at right now but inside I can see some really nice crystals that have some amazing colors and they're all pretty good size next I'm going to start opening up this metal geode and show you guys the crystals and make sure that you keep all the small pieces of the metal so you guys can melt it back down and make more crystals Wow I cannot believe how amazing these crystals look they turned out great and I loved all the different kinds of colors I just can't believe how amazing business is because it's used for so many different things and you can make these amazing crystals out of it and what's really cool is that your crystals will never look the same they'll always come out with different shapes and all these amazing different colors [Music] making these business crystals was a lot of fun now if you guys decide to try to make some of these crystals at home and have any problems comment down below and I'll help you guys out now if you guys want to waive any of the crystals that I made in this video make sure that you subscribe to my channel hit that like button and comment down below then you want a crystal but I hope you guys enjoyed this video and I will see you guys in my next video thanks for watching [Music]
