How To Make Any Sample Work Using Your Creativity

[Music] all right listen check the scenario out you're a kid right teen 17 and your mind's getting five bucks to go to the local record store right you get to their local record store you go you want to sample something because you have a drum machine that samples right get in there take your last five bucks that your mom gave you right your pops gave you or whatever for cutting the grass for doing chores right go to the local record store and you pick up something that looks appealing you said man everybody else around that neighborhood they're making beats but they're sampling the same thing and I want something different right but you pick this up and you don't know what it sounds like when you get back home you have no clue what it is right you take it put it on it and it sounds horrible what do you do you throw it away and go the same route that is as everyone else huh no what you do is you make it work you make something out of nothing this we don't know what this sounds like so we will find out okay gonna find out and let me tell you something this type of thing this type of exercise builds creative character because this will teach you to make something out of nothing because I've watched a lot a lot a lot of Mass Appeal and I've seen people get discouraged on what they picked out while they were blindfolded right but to me if you true about the sampling the artist sampling and these these Standalone machines or even even the Ableton Etc you can make something out of nothing because you can take a little small step snippet and loop it and turn into a note okay so I'm not saying that's what's gonna happen right now but I don't know what's gonna happen because we we just gonna hook this up and make I don't care what this sounds like let's see what happens we're gonna do this one song and one song only like And subscribe you hear me that's right so yeah we're gonna take this one usually I would pick out three out the record vault maybe four out the record Vault before I would sample something to make a beep to get inspired but in this case I said let me just try one and that's it and make it I don't care what this sounds like we're gonna that little piece right took I took maybe it's like this the record was like full of a bunch of vocals right but it had a few instruments and a few songs on there right that I worked with took it and I made it work it was it had a rhythm to it but I put it in the picture that I was trying to paint put it on my brand new canvas right and that's what I'm trying to teach you I want you to make something out of nothing because to me the record was kind of crazy I didn't know it was like a story type record I actually like I said I didn't know anything about it this is something I picked up from Goodwill or something like that right I think I got it from Goodwill or one of them secondhand stores I don't think I got this from a a record shop or anything like that right I made it work and that's what I want you to do I want you to pick up any record and make it work like I said with these machines and these in these in this software these days these doors man anything is possible man I don't see how some of your guys can get on Mass Appeal or something and like oh man I picked this no because you're looking for the perfect Loop there's no such thing all right all you have to do is gravitate towards me imma make that I don't like you ever been had your back against the wall in life and the only thing you had was this brain up here and you made it work somehow some you got through the end of the day and you made it work that's what I'm trying to tell you man same thing with the music especially for you being creative because I know a lot of you cats are very creative man you're very creative you wouldn't be watching this if you wasn't because you get ideas you take it and you run with it and that's what you're supposed to do once you get a little snippet of the pitch in your head making the beat making the drum track is kind of easy right I had to load this and load that throw the sauces and the spices on there and once you put the icing on the cake which is
