Welcome to Pins and Things everybody! I have another Harry Potter tutorial for you. Today I'm going to show you guys how to make a Luna Lovegood Costume with all these different things. By the way this has been a suggestion from so many of you guys for such a long time So I finally decided to do it. Thank you to all of you guys on the screen here that suggested it I hope you guys love it. I suspect the Nargles are behind it. The first thing i'm doing is typing in Luna lovegood glasses into google. It looks like here's a really good picture of it. I'm just going to take a picture of the picture I can Make it bigger or smaller to the size that I need it to be. I found these glasses at Walmart there were $10 I know I've seen round glasses at the dollar store before. It's also a good place to check for it. I'm going to stretch the screen to the right size We want to be able to make a pattern that we can glue on top of the rims that are already there That's a pretty good size right there That way we can glue all of the part that we will be cutting out around this rims. Next thing I have here is a five subject notebook, but what's more important is the cover of the notebook So I just got this for a couple of dollars at the store. I'm gonna put this over the top of that I'm just going to trace it from my computer screen onto the plastic Whoo! Now that I have that traced, I'm just going to cut out the whole plastic part. I like that this is made with a really sturdy material But it's also thin enough that I can cut it really easily and shape it the way I want it. Now that I have it all cut out. I'm going to just stick it on top of my glasses So hold it up to the light and then trace your frames from there, so that we can cut out the lenses I just have to be super careful with this part Now that it's all cut out it's time to hot glue it to the frame. Set it down. You can tell Ellie's been playing with these because they're all covered and nasties I'm going to put a little bit of hot glue down on the frame first Probably in the middle just so I can get everything centered and then it can glue the rest down a little bit at a time That's pretty sturdy too. That's not going any where. Ready for this? Do I look crazy yet? I love it, and it's really super sturdy like has a little bit of give it can move and wiggle But as long as it's pretty kept I think as long as it's kept pretty straight in a bag or whatever or in a glasses case, a giant one It'll stay like this forever. Looks good. I feel like with Luna love-good costume She has a lot of little quirky things that you just need. I saw these online. I thought they were so cute I just printed this paper off It says, I suspect the Nargles are behind it. With her funky glasses, and I was like, you know what, I could totally make a little pin out of that. I got a package at Walmart It was like three dollars for like ten of these little buttons, so I'm just going to put the paper in there. I know it's so easy. I can't believe it. Thank you cost-oh, I'm going to re-purpose you The next one I have is the quibbler magazine. This one I just found on the internet a very easy printout to find on the internet I would just search quibbler magazine and you'll find these. This is a front and back I'm just going to cut these out and I'm going to glue them to the top of my magazine I'm using Super 77 multi-Purpose adhesive for this one That works well Sweet! I have a quibbler! I really like that. That's cool I did not find a bag of hers that I was looking for it's kind of a dark blue color and it's got some speckled the Yarn, I think is what it's made out of so I just went and found a sweater at the thrift store, and I'm going to turn this into a bag for her I have the sweater flipped inside out and now I'm going to stitch up the bottom Bottom is all stitched up, and I think I'm going to make it smaller than the length of this so I'm just going to actually cut it to the length that I want it at. This is just going to be a rectangular bag. I'm sure somebody at one point loved this sweater. I just cut off this whole chunk after sewing this together. Now I'm going to sew up this side Especially because I'm going to be using this to hold all my belongings while I'm at universal studio The next thing I'm going to do is cut up this side right here right next to the seam This one need to get matched on both sides and now I'm gonna cut across it That way we can have a flap that goes over the top and I'm also going to stitch over this just to make sure that It's all going to stay in place the way I want We're going to go over this whole side here just to make sure that it doesn't - And I actually kind of like that it has the white stitching showing because our clothes feel very home made. Okay, now. I'm just going to cut some straps or the purse here Just cutting a really long rectangle out of the rest of sweater. Hey and look at that I could even just cut it just like that and it's already sewn together and I have to do it stitch right here. Yeah, that was easy. Okay, I have my strap all sewn together. It's very - It's not really super perfect, but I kind of like it I think it matches the luna. So I'm going to take the strap that I've made and I'm going to bring it halfway down through the purse and stitch that in. This purse is flipped inside out right now. And we're about to bring it halfway down And I'm really going to make sure to sew this in there. Well, because I don't want this coming off I'm going to flip it right side out, and then we're done. Wow! I'm going to get the rest of the costume together, and then I'll explain to you where I got everything and what it is I'm going to get changed in three, two, one! done Okay, I'm going to explain to you guys the rest of the costume So we've got our quibbler already, our glasses, our pin and our bag. the rest of it was really just a matter of looking around and finding things that matched. The shoes I already had these hot pink converse in one of the movies she has these types of shoes and so I wanted to give use them. Even though this outfit that she was wearing, she was actually wearing black converse that have like a flower pattern on them I think that these will still work for Luna lovegood. The socks I found on Amazon along with the tights, and these are actually leggings, and they're super soft And I will have a link in the description below this video. Where you can find the socks and the leggings So it'll be super easy for you to get what you need. I also found this skirt and this sweater at the thrift store I was just looking at a picture of the whole time that I was there and trying my hardest to find something that matched as Close as I could find it It wasn't exact, but I think it gets the message. Okay, so I want to announce that I'm going to be at Universal studios Orlando on May 4th, and I'm going to dressed as Luna Lovegood I'm going to go as Luna Lovegood and have a whole bunch of fun, and if you guys see me there I will give you a special gift.
