[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey guys ryan here with the way we hunt if you are a regular subscriber thanks for coming back if this is your first time watching our channel we welcome you and we hope you hit that subscribe button what we're going gonna do today is build a hog attractant so some people call it a hog tube some people call it a pig pipe there's or a hog pipe or whatever there's a lot of different ways you can do it you can build it with a hog barrel too but this is just our own spin on it essentially it's a pvc pipe with a bunch of holes drilled in it it's tied or that's fastened to a chain fastened to some sort of ground anchoring device the tube's got a bunch of holes drilled in it you fill it full of corn you set it out and what happens the hogs roll it around and they gradually get corn out of it and what it does is keep them in a certain area so that you can hunt them so this is just our own spin on it there's about a billion videos out there on how to do it this is not the right way to do it this is not the perfect way to do it this is just our way of doing it so we're gonna take you for a ride and show you how we are going to do this let's go now a lot of people will take all their holes and drill them right down the center i don't want to do that because if it rains and then the hogs roll it around it gets all mixed up in there and then the holes end up on the side or back on the top or not on the bottom it's not going to be able to drain out and corn is going to spoil pretty quick so i'm just going to start on top right here this is just a 5 8 spade bit then i'm gonna rotate it at a quarter turn and put another one right here i'm gonna rotate it and put another one right here so you get the point i'm gonna do this all the way down if this pipe is going to be on your property for a long period of time meaning that you're not going to get to check it very often you might want to put less holes because the hogs will clean this out pretty quick but we're lucky enough that our property is not far very far from us and we can check it fairly often [Music] so the holder's nice and spaced out i might actually put another couple in between so what's going to happen they're going to roll this over horn's going to fall out they eat it they keep rolling next thing i'm going to do is i'm going to take [Music] my eye bolt get it ready i'm going to take my cap my drill bit i'm actually still going to use the 5 8 inch drill bit it's going to be a little bit too big for this eye bolt but i've got washers that'll plug it up i'd literally forgot to grab the right size drill bit from the house it's okay this cost two dollars and fifty cents if i screw it up i'll go get another one but it's still gonna work i'm literally gonna take the spade bit just stick it right down here all the way through [Music] washer in my nut or my bolt my nut take a couple washers out here [Applause] perfect so my bolts coming through i want to do three washers there one on the outside actually there there there there put my nut on socket would make this super fast but this works just as well my bolts on [Music] and it's tight so now that's on take it and screw it in our trap like that we're going to take our cement glue this is not endorsing it but it's what i had it's christie's red hot blue glue just what i had it uh already on the shelf give it a shake give me a nice coating around like i said you don't need to you don't need to uh prime this [Music] twist a little bit go the other end same thing [Music] you can literally make these in five or ten minutes nice little coating take your end cap get on give it a nice little twist close my glue before it spills everywhere [Applause] all right so on this end see i've got the uh eye bolt take my chain my snap link that's gonna get through there get a little just another snap link here goes through there that way the hog starts flipping they start spinning this this will rotate right so let's take it over here and i'll show you how it goes on a post there's a couple ways you can do this um this is just a two inch by two foot piece of schedule 40 that was already at lowe's i didn't have to cut it or anything so you can either put a swivel around the base of a t-post or you can use a ground anchor with a swivel on it or you can just take a t-post take this slide it right over the top you're gonna take your chain and you can you just need to use sturdy chain this is chain that i already had so i didn't have to buy it so that did offset my cost a little bit snap link inside your chain go around you want it super tight but you don't want crazy loose either maybe a couple links out there you go so as the hogs are taking this and rolling it around this is simply spinning around the pipe just like that so not catching up cause what will happen if you don't use that teeth will catch on here it'll end up binding up and as the hogs spin it around and around and around it will actually it'll actually snap your chain and pull your eye bolt out um at the end so that way it spins right around freely now what i'd like to do is dig just a little channel maybe an inch wide all the way around the bottom of this and help your t-post and that will that will slide right in it but this works pretty good also all right so this is the setup you got a 10-foot piece of chain you got a t-post with a two inch by two foot pipe around it this is connected to fill this simply take out your cleanout trap dump your corn in here attach it back up no need to glue it in anything you already got your end cap glued pull it tight take a whole bunch of corn throw it on the ground you can take pig out or molasses or whatever you wanted to kool-aid whatever throw it on the ground around it get them attracted to it then once they figure out that all they have to do is roll this this will just simply roll around that t-post all day it's not binding up here because of the swivel they'll roll it they'll roll up the roll it they get the corn out what it is it holds them in an area now this is not an attractant i know it's not a tract in the beginning and i didn't mean to it's not a lure it isn't a tract it's not a lure it's not gonna lure your hogs here if you don't have hogs right so you need to put this at a place where your hogs are coming through or it's a known area maybe next to a wallow or a watering hole or if it's a known bedding area or just a trail once they find it though it gives you a place to hunt just like having a feeder except this doesn't kick out as much corn and it's a free feed type of system it's harder for raccoons to get into it and if you make it like this one four foot or sorry four inch five foot long it's gonna have a little bit of weight to it so it's not gonna be as easy for raccoons to roll it around so that is how we make a hog tube a pig pile a pig barrel whatever you want call it that's our rendition of it that literally took me looking at the camera now the camera's been rolling for eight minutes and i've done a lot of other stuff in there so call it five minutes to make super easy relatively inexpensive and that will last for a very very very long time so the next videos hope to show you pigs on the pipe on the on the tube and then us killing them so thank you guys for watching if you like this video
