How to Make a Coiled Cable (Quick & Easy)

[Music] [Applause] [Music] easy [Music] here's how to make your own custom coil cable in just a few minutes with tools that you already have you will need a hairdryer a wooden stick a cable of a cable of your choice and some tape this is very easy anyone can do it and there's a very high chance you will be able to make one of these cables if you watch this video step 1 grab a cable that you want to coil how good the cable looks will depend on what you use so try to use a nice braided cable as it will look better the coiling process will reduce the overall length of the cable so i suggest using a 3 meter or 10 feet cable step 2 grab a wooden stick keep in mind that the diameter of the rod will affect the end diameter of your coil also think about what orientation and coil length you want for your cable depending on your setup and usb placement on your keyboard the coil length is up to you and what looks best for you don't worry if your cable is long enough to reach the pc after doing the coil you can always fix this by using a usb extension to make the cable reach the pc step 3 use a good amount of tape to fix one end of the cable into place and make sure it's properly secured start coiling the cable around the rod and make sure you apply as much tension as you can to get the best results once that's done tape the other end step 4 graph your hair dryer set the heat to maximum and heat up the entire cable evenly for around 10 minutes using a heat gun will be more effective but i made this cable using a hair dryer and it works just fine make sure to properly heat up the ends of the coil and not just the center so the entire coil is even and the ends aren't loose after heating it up let it cool down to room temperature for a few minutes cut the tape and carefully take out the cable [Music] at this point the cable is coiled but it won't hold its shape so here's the most important step to make it springy and holy shape carefully grab the coiled cable hold one of the sides to the rod and reverse the coil reversing the coil is a bit complicated to explain but it's not complicated to do so look closely once the coil is reversed you will see how it's springy and it holds its shape and there you have it your own custom coil cable quick and easy don't forget to subscribe step 2 grab a wooden stick
