How to Lay Peel & Stick Vinyl on a Wood Floor : Flooring Help

[Applause] [Music] today everyone I'm Joshua Clement flied to contractors and today I'm going to talk to you about how to install peel and stick tile on your wood floor now for this job you'll need two couple tools for this job you'll need a broom to clean the floor thoroughly something to use a straight line I'm gonna be using a level a razor blade a tape measure and a pencil first step is to go ahead and sweep that floor make sure you get all the dust and debris off the floor now you're going to measure to the exact center of the room because that's where we're going to start that way everything runs nice and straight so we're going to go to the exact center of the room put a mark come down a little bit put another mark then we'll take our straight line put it on those two marks make a nice bold line that you can run your entire floor by then we'll do it the other direction too after that we're going to go ahead and take our first tile put it right in the middle of that X making sure that you can see your line on both sides then firmly press it down now we'll take the next piece make sure that our lines are nice and straight here make it nice and tight right where they butt up together and make sure that you're running on your line this way then press it into place then you'll repeat the process on the other side make sure your corners are nice and tight and then press it into place you'll go ahead and do this throughout the entire room now when it comes to putting in around the edges you're going to take a full piece of tile this is the way you want it go ahead and flip it upside down you're going to go ahead and mark it just a hair shy of the tile on both sides that way when we cut it you can go ahead flip it over you have your factory edge here and your cut edge towards the wall now you're going to go ahead and use a straight edge to mark the two lines together and cut it with your razor blade after you have your cut piece go ahead lay it down make sure where they joined together is nice and tight make sure your corners are lined up and push it into place now I left it just a little bit away from the wall because your trim is going to go across there and hide that I'm Jaclyn with flighty contractors thank you for watching and good luck with this project [Applause] [Music] you
