How to Justify Text Without Big Spaces in Microsoft Word | Solve Extra Spacing Problem

we've got fully justified paragraphs and word and that's resulted in some unsightly spaces let's deal with this very obvious problem here this is course when someone's you shift and enter at the end of a line you can spot when someone's done that if you go to your home tab and click on the show hide button you'll see that little arrow there now you can delete that arrow if i click to the left of it press delete solves the problem i'll just undo that another way around it if you have lots of lines that have that problem is if you go to file and then options advanced scroll down to the bottom and here's an option don't expand character spaces on a line that ends with shift and return if i tick that click on okay it solves the problem as well now turn my show hide button off and what if you were a little bit picky about spaces say between this text here prefer there not to be as much space i might do it actually for the rest of that sentence that line anyway well a way around that if you go to the home tab on your ribbon font group click on this little launcher button and now go to the advanced tab you've got a spacing option here if you say condensed now it's giving a little preview down here so you can see that's a bit too condensed if i took it down to 0.3 then it does close the gap between the words for you now if you're still unhappy i'll go on to the third option so i've got a new document and i'm just generally unhappy with the spacing between the words in this justified paragraph now this solution will require you to save the document in compatibility mode you go to file save as i'll save to the desktop just call this test and i'm going to save it as a word 97 to 2003 document now in some ways let's make the problem worse but here's the trick if i go to file options advanced and i'm going to scroll down all the way to the bottom until i get to compatibility options now you'll find here there's an option do full justification the way we're perfect six for windows stars so i tick that and click on ok it's decreased the spacing between the words now on the left side here i have the document in compatibility mode with the word perfect algorithm applied to the spacing and on this side i have a version of the same document not in compatibility mode and you can see that there is a difference there is still obviously spacing in these lines here but it's less so than we have over here okay so there we are some options for you for sorting out spacing in justified paragraphs hopefully that is useful if it is please give me a thumbs up and subscribe and i'll see you next video [Music] you
