hello and welcome to your step-by-step guide to how to build a garden fence by Grange fencing if you have any questions please leave them in the comment section below and we will get back to you in order to complete this project you will need a string line a spade a shovel spirit level a chisel and hammer a tape measure a bar a bucket for the water a cordless screwdriver drill a saw nails and screws and a pencil using chisel and hammer knock the fence panel till it becomes loose using the shovel or bar push the panel apart from the posts remove the posts by lifting them out of the ground shake the post back and forth until it lifts out this could be difficult particularly if they have been concreted in remember to remove all concrete brick or rubble using a spirit level check to make sure the post sits straight against the wall mark the first post and Ecore distance from the top and bottom with a pencil to indicate where the drill holes will be drilled holes top and bottom where previously marked drill two holes top and bottom into the wall partially nail in the timber post and then into the wall to secure partially insert small nail into the timber post around one foot from the ground using some string tie this to the nail and then take this to where the end of the fence line will be to ensure a straight line of fencing make sure you move any foliage out of the way from the first post measure along the ground the width of your panel and grab a board this will give you the point of your next post there may already be a hole here where the old post used to be simply dig out any rubble or leftover concrete if not dig a new hole watch out for any underground pipes make sure the hole is approximately 60 centimeters deep for 6-foot panels for shorter panels you can get away with digging a shallower hole screw in gravel board brackets to the end face of the gravel board make sure the top of the grabbable clip is flush against the top of the grabber board for the panel to fit correctly gently hammer down the gravel board to the ground against the first post check this level and drill into the post use H posts instead of square posts as an alternative to you clips by simply sliding the panel down the posts mark three points on the top middle and bottom of the post at an equal distance screw in three u clips top middle and bottom to the post lift the panel place on top of the gravel board and slot into the new clips gently knock the panel into place screw the u clips into the panel to secure the panel into place place the next post into the previous dugout hole to make sure it sits flush against the edge of the gravel board and panel if not you may need to dig a larger hole use a pencil to mark where the top of the panel comes to against the post art the bottom of the post where the top of the gravel board needs to give you the point of where the grub board bracket needs to be secure again mark three points all of equal distance top middle and bottom on the post at these points you will need to fix three more u clips and slide the u clips into the end of the panel check the post is level against the panel screw the three u clips into the panel to secure half fill the hole around post with water and then shake out a bag of post fixed fast-setting concrete into the water repeat until the hole is full and the post is submerged in the mixture this can be messy if you find any excess concrete on the post or panel simply wipe and wash them down with water leave to set fix the next gravel board bracket to the gravel board dig a small channel for the gravel board to sit on meekly remove any stones or rubble it is important that the gravel boards are level make sure the gravel board is in line with the previous one and gently knock into place against the post of secure with screws measure top middle and bottom again for three more view clips and screw these into the pose to secure slotting the next fence panel on top of the gravel board and into the u-clips screw in the three u clips to secure the panel continue this whole process until you get to the end of the fence line if you get to the end and the last panel is too big measure the remaining distance to the end of the fence line mark this on the gravel board and use the saw to cook the size measure the length you have remaining and mark this along the fence panel so you know how much to cut off using a spare batten nail this into the mark point where the end of the panel will be this will complete the frame and add strength to the panel using a jig saw cook down the panel to the size required fit the panel to the post as per previous steps add post caps and finials to your posts for a decorative and complete look simply screw these to the top of the posts we hope you found this video helpful any questions please leave them in the comment section and someone will be in touch give this video the thumbs up and subscribe to our Channel
