How To Install and Setup Data ONTAP 9.6 Simulator on VMWare Workstation

[Music] hello guys today i will show you how to install and set up on tap knife on such simulator on vmware workstation let's get started [Music] [Applause] you need an account to log into netapp website to download the simulator i already login click on download and then product evaluation tab click on later on tap simulator and let's scroll down to the bottom and check the license agreement and then click on accept and continue there are a few version available as 9.5 iphone 6 i'm going to download 9.6 for my setup today i use vmware workstation to set up data on tab simulator so double click on the icon and then click on open virtual machine i'm looking for the image that i download from netapp website i start my image on desktop so highlight the ova image and then click on open you can name it whatever you want i named the virtual machine is c1-01 for the storage node starter path i want to install the vm on the same location so it is easy for me to manage i create the folder c1 dash note 1 under net f left folders highlight and click ok and click import now the virtual machine is created so click on edit virtual machine setting this setting is a minimum requirement for the simulator to run so just leave it alone also on the network adapters setting for now just leave it by default then click on ok click on play virtual machine you can press enter to boot immediately press ctrl c for boot menu type number four for clean configuration and initialize all this enter type yes enter yes again enter now system of rebooting you can press enter yes enter again uh note management interface euroc enter i choose 190 172 23.1.11 for note management interface ip net mess 255 255.255.255.0 [Music] and gateway 172 172.23.1.254 enter press enter i create the new cluster so type create and press enter type node and press enter because i'm going to set up multi-note cluster yes to use our default setting by default the username for administrator is admin you can type your password the password does not match so i retype it i pick up cluster name is cluster 1 enter now cluster equated the lesson key i can skip right now and do it later just press enter cluster management interface enter for eeroc the ip4 cluster management interface 172 not 23 not 1 not 11 sorry not 12 not 11 is for note management so cluster management is dot one dot twelve press enter net now cluster setup is completed so i type list to show and it shows that onenote is configured and installed the next step is i want to unlock diag username and password that it need to unlock and we need to able to manage this management later on the follow command is to unlock the diag username and the follow command is security login password dash username diag to reset the password so you can re enter the new password and retype it and enter the follow command is to log into direct account yes type system shell local to log into the system node the next command is to set environment for the disk directory command path type cd space slash sim slash dev enter the neckline is to add additional 14 one gigabyte yes on adapter number two that's a is adapter number two is adapter two press the on command system manager gui interface let's open our web browser and you can type http as colon slash 192 dot 23.1.11 that is the node management ip let's try admin and password and cyan i click yes because we already set up the cluster and yes again and sign in now it's sweet to 172.23.1.12 that is the ip4 cluster management port try to log in again with admin and password and click on sign in now you log into the cluster system manager and you can able to manage cluster one note one the final step to finish the configuration that add cluster bait lesson key that i skipped last time so click on configuration tab and go to licenses and click add and copy and paste lesson key and click ok the lesson key based license key that you can get it from the netapp website when you download the ova image that says the simulator is ready to go [Music] you
