hi everyone I'm Scott sussel with tree Gator here with me today is the tree Gator original slow-release watering bag tree Gator bags deliver a proportionate amount of water over a proper amount of time allowing new and existing trees to thrive as well as conserve water tree Gator bags were created originally by my father back in 1989 for use on the home nursery however this revolutionary watering method soon spread beyond the family farm and now over a quarter century later tree Gator bags are still made right here in the United States of America and used by green industry professionals as well as homeowners alike today I'm going to show you how to install one as well as give you a few tips when you purchase a tree Gator it's going to come packaged in an individual package like this we're in a bulk pack if you were a commercial contractor simply just open up the package and out of that package will come the tree Gator bag that looks like this let's go over a few basic parts of the tree Gator first we have the tag here on the back of the tag as the installation instructions underneath this tag is the horizontal fill opening which is where the hose goes above that is two straps on the top which are used to gently lift up on the bag when you fill the bag up with roughly about a quarter full of water just a couple gallons in there these folds that are located right here are called gussets the drip holes are located inside these gussets on the bottom here roughly about 2 inches in there's one there and there's one on this side there are no drip points on the back of the tree Gator the back of the tree Gator simply touches the trunk as its wrapped around and zipped up like a jacket so let me show you how to install it right now zip the tree Gator around the trunk you can either face the tree Gator like we're doing and install it you can also stand on this side reach over and zip it up like that like you normally would a jacket but for this I'm going to stand here and we're going to zip it all the way up to the top and let the handle fall down which locks that zipper firm and keeps it from from falling down for right now to fill it I'm going to rotate it around to the front so I can show you where the hose goes again here we have the tag and we need to have the two straps on the top the horizontal fill opening is underneath the tag and we're simply going to open that up and put the hose in there and fill and let's do that now again simply lift up on the tag insert the hose into the horizontal fill opening and turn the water on as we do this you're going to see the water gently inflating this bag and when we get up to about here it's a couple gallons of water in the bag we're going to turn the water flow off and I want to show you how to lift up properly on the straps reason we do this is so the bottom can expand properly all right now that we have a couple gallons of water in the bag we're going to turn the water off these two straps again you want to put your fingers in here and lift up on the tree Gator you don't need to lift the tree Gator completely off the ground just lift it up high enough so that the bottom expands out properly and that's it you only have to do this once per fill but make sure that you do it every fill we're going to turn the water back on now and fill the tree Gator all the way up all right the bag is almost full now I'm going to go ahead and shut the water off I'm going to take the hose out of the tree Gator now you'll want to make sure that you fold the tag down on the tree Gator it keeps debris from getting in that fill slip we have the tree Gator sitting here with two leak points on the bottom one of the league points is here on this side of the tree and the other is on this side and that's going to irrigate for a five to nine hour time period going to completely saturate the root ball of this tree without any runoff now that it's full the bag is built to water on its own you may go do other things do other gardening other hobbies that you enjoy if you have another tree on your property that needs watering when this bag is empty again and that five to nine hour time period take it to another tree and fill it up other than that you can fold it up and put it away for storage we appreciate you taking the time to watch this video on the tree Gator original I hope you enjoy our product I'm Scott sussel with tree gator and thank you for watching
