hey there friends on today's video we are going to be swapping batteries for this nissan titan right here in the sam's club parking lot super easy let's do it [Music] okay quick disclaimer this is for informational slash entertainment purposes only we're going to show you how we did it but we're not official mechanics so this is not an official tutorial or instruction in any way use your own risk as electric shock could happen when you are messing around with batteries and electrical systems we've been having some clicking noises when we were trying to turn on the titan here and as it turns out we went to autozone have the battery checked and it turns out the battery is bad it's a few years old now it's time to replace it so we're over here at sam's club getting ready to do that now sam's club will exchange this battery out for free for you they do it for you which is great but i wanted to make the video showing you how easy the process is in the event you have to do this in another parking lot so first thing to do is to come down here and we're going to pop the trunk and get underneath there okay the battery is located on the passenger side as you can see at the time of this video this is about four years old uh this specific battery so again it's bad autozone will do testing for you sam's club will do testing for you most auto places will do them uh now just to make sure your battery is good so do that first just make sure you don't have some other problem with your battery and now we're ready to remove it the only thing we're going to need for this removal process is a 10 mil wrench here and basically we're going to take off the negative terminal first and then the positive so here's our battery terminal right here and i'm just going to go counterclockwise and loosen up this side right here now remember when you're taking your battery off this is going to reset all of your internal electronics all of your radio stations and things like that will most likely reset let's go ahead and take the positive terminal off using the same method just going to go counter-clockwise on the little nut that's down here once we have this loose this positron will just slip off as well now it is really good practice to kind of clean off these terminals make sure they're nice and free of corrosion for the new battery as you can see there's a little bit of build up over the years here on these terminals okay now for some batteries depending on your titan model you also are going to have a little bracket that holds the battery in to the casing down there at the bottom there's a single bolt there so i'm using a 12 millimeter socket set to get down in there with an extension obviously that is going to go right down on this nut like that and then i can just loosen that guy up to remove that bracket and loosen up the battery okay once that bolt is loose we can pull it out and you can see that the bracket here that was holding the battery in that can just be pushed off to the side right here so we can pull the battery now up this is now ready to be pulled straight out using this handle again make sure it's not broken on either side you don't want this big heavy lead thing falling on your foot or anything like that also you want to make sure you take your old battery in to a lot of these places to exchange them that way you don't have what's called a core charge added uh to your bill in sam's club it's 18 added to your bill if you don't have this again core so let's go ahead and bring this in to sam's club with us and grab our new battery so let's see if i can do this with one hand that's going to loosen it and we can just pull that right out again be very very careful friends this thing is heavy you don't want to squash your toes okay here is our brand new battery we got the duracell you can see it's got a three year warranty you're gonna be looking for the 24 f that is the battery that works with this specific titan this is a 2013 pro 4x titan so again make sure you really look at the manual look at the instructions have the shop look up your specific vehicle when they purchase the new battery here this is ready to be installed so what we've done is we've cleaned up our battery terminals here just a little bit and we'll make sure that we have good connection we've also cleaned up this bottom bracket just a little bit we're gonna need to move this out of the way one more time and then we can slip our new battery right down in here okay we've got the battery back into place now remember when you put this thing back in make sure your terminals are closest to your terminal connectors right here you don't want them over here these this won't stretch over so we've got it in place now it's time to go ahead and get this bracket down here uh tightened into place we can just take our bolt here and get it threaded into place with our fingers and then we can use that 12 millimeter socket to get it tight okay it's now time to put our terminal connectors back on we're gonna start with the positive we can remove this little plastic piece that's on this side put that off to the side there and we're ready to stick this guy back on and tighten it back down using this nut here with our 10 millimeter wrench okay we're now ready to connect our black uh terminal connector here go and remove again this plastic piece on this side and then we can stick our battery terminal connector right on top like that and we'll tighten down that nut as well okay we should have everything connected let's go ahead and turn on the car make sure we get a good start okay we got good cranks looks like the battery is installed great friends if this helped you guys please hit that thumbs up button let's assume we're making good videos for you stay tuned we're making a bunch more titan videos those will be released shortly so you may want to subscribe alright take care and we'll see you again on the next one
