hi I'm Jean let's spend dr. performance bicycles and today I want to show you how to install a saddle under your bike the first thing you need to do before you install the saddle is to measure the height of your current saddle you do that by taking a tape measure and measuring from the middle of your bottom bracket all the way up the seat tube to the top of the saddle write that measurement down somewhere you'll remember what it is get for a little bit later next thing you want to do is take an Allen wrench and loosen up the clamp bolts on the seat posts that hold the saddle in place you'll have this particular one has two clamp bolts we want to loosen them both don't take them both all the way off but loosen both of them you will in this particular C post you will have to take one of these bolts completely out take one bolt out and then this top plate you're going to loosen up the other bolt enough so where you can rotate this top plate away from the saddle the saddle rails the saddle should just come out just like that real nice and easy and now we're ready to install the new saddle what you want to do is turn your top plate sideways again and try to slide the saddle right over the top of that top plate let that saddle rail slide straight into the channel on the bottom plate rotate that top plate down just a little bit tighten up one of your screws you go and get the other one and start to tighten it down to use your allen wrench to Snug these bolts up there almost tight you don't want them all the way tight though you want to leave it just a little bit loose where you can make any kind of saddle adjustments fore-and-aft or backwards and forwards now take the carpenter's level put it on top of the saddle hold it in place and move the saddle until the saddle appears to be level two little bubble shows in the middle of the viewing glass while it's on there well it's still level tighten up both both sorts nice and snug for the saddle doesn't move now before you before you're finished you need to make sure the saddle is at the same height that you originally had your saddle at to begin with take your tape measure clip down at the middle of the bottom bracket up the seat tube and up to the saddle itself and then what you want to do is you'll want to raise your seat post either up or down to get to the right seat height then tighten this back down to manufacturer's spec that's all there is that's how simple it is to install a new saddle so if you have any questions give us a call it's been doctor services or combined visit us at one of your one of our local performance bicycle stores thank you very much
