hyper stats can be confusing let me explain to you how you can set these up properly so you can get all the value out of your hard-earned levels starting at level 140 you get hyper stats at every level up the purpose is to complement your classes kit the amount of the hyper stats you need will depend on a lot of factors but the order in which the stats are important and are applied are the same for all the classes this is because of the access that we have to these stats and because of how damage is calculated in Maplestory first of all I'd like to focus with you mostly on early and mid game on how to set up your hyperset there and this will help you lay the foundations on how to do it later on in the game I'll also include some tools that you can use for late game and end game calculations because these can get exceedingly complicated and I definitely can't do them in my head either so a calculator will help you figure out what is the best setup for you without having to break your head over it now don't let this wall of text confuse you because it is a lot but we'll go through it one step at a time don't worry so main thing is that you want to make two presets later on you'll make a third probably for high level bossing but early on two presets one for bossing one from mobbing pretty straightforward the bossing I indicated here with the blue and the mobbing with the red and then purple for the combination of blue and red the reason we make two different presets is because these two setups will distinctively use different stats and we'll get to those in a second and you'll see the ones that are blue and you'll see the ones that are red specifically highlighted here now knowing what the priority of the stats is that's one part of the battle the other part is how far do you push those stats and when do you stop and move on to the next step like I said in the intro the goal is to complement your character's stats so the first step would be to look through your character's skills and see what kind of stats do you get the basic important stats early on are critical rate and ID these are basically the two stats that will determine whether all the Investments you make in your character and the Damage you're pushing actually goes through to the targets that you're hitting critical rate obviously works on mobbing and bossing while ID only works when you're bossing technically IED applies a little bit when you're mobbing as well but even the highest level mobs in the game have so little PDR that requires IED to counteract that it is a negligible amount so my rule of thumb is usually start from the top get up to level five and then work your way down the list as long as you need this stat look at the stat in the order that it appears if you need it add points to it if you don't need it then continue again if you need help on deciding which stats you need and which ones you don't need first try to read your skills second of all you can also try the class Discord where people have more in-depth knowledge on every specific class third of all you can always drop by one of my live streams and I'll be able to help you out and the fourth thing you can do is you can use my exclamation mark progression chart where there's a guide on a lot of these metrics on which numbers you want to aim for and you can see there which goals are important to pursue as you see when you go through the stat priority you very quickly get everything to level five and then be able to move on and start back from the top don't go to The Leftovers just yet I would only do that once you're reaching level 9 or higher on the stat priority list now again this is not an exact science if you want the exact science use one of the tools that I mentioned later the video however there's a downside the tool will give you the optimal distribution of the hyperstats for your current situation that might mean that right now you'll get the most damage out of it but since all sources of damage are always interacting with each other as soon as you make an upgrade or change something drastically in your account or just gain a lot of levels the configuration of your hyper sets could completely change in a calculator which will make you have to click a lot and redistribute your points every single time now the setup that I propose might be not as exact but it'll be really close plus you'll be able to easily keep adding on without having to constantly redo it it'll be future proof in other words so why are these stats a priority I added some explanation next to it so dftfpp Mana that's basically just necessary to be able to play your character right some classes will just stand or fall with not having the right amount of points so that is a very high priority this might be personal preference so put some points in up to level five is very very cheap and then see if that's enough or if it's not enough if it's not enough for you maybe talk to some other people who are playing the same class maybe get some advice there if everything works out cool move on to the next step next step is Arcane power why is it so high up because it's important if you have not enough of it right Arcane power gives you final damage Source final damage is the main thing that fuels your damage output so if you can hit the next Benchmark 10 30 or 50 above the requirement of the Target that will give you a extra final damage this is also where the third preset sometimes comes in sometimes in conjunction with event Buffs and your Arcane power hyperset you could get to 10 extra bonus damage on very high level bosses think about hard will for people in mid game or think about Ferris Hilla in late game and even Black Mage can get a 10 final damage bonus then we get to IED which is not technically a final damage multiplier but is it final damage penalty nullifier which is kind of the same again this is specifically when you're bossing so this will be in the bossing preset that's why it's in blue here if you want to get some more information on IED you can always check my ID command in my twitch chat where I explain how it works why you want it why it's very important early on and how it increases the efficiency of all of the upgrades you make on your character then we get the crit rate right after that why because crit rate is the gatekeeper for crit damage and crit damage is a final damage multiplier on your Critical Hits now critical damage is additive with its own clump of final damage but because for most of the game you have a very low amount of sources for it and it stays a relatively low amount it's imperative to stack it as high as you can then we get the damage to boss and normal Monsters of course split up boss for the blue setup mobs for the red setup reason it's this high is because it gives you three percent and up to four percent at a higher levels per level up which means it can scale and it can compete with the other stats damage percent is just behind it why because it works on both mobbing and unboxing that makes it good but it's a little bit less it stays three percent all the way up per level so it's just below damage to boss and normal monsters but here in purple and then bonus exp comes in in red only for mobbing of course boss exp is completely negligible at this point and exp will be very important once you can kill the monsters at the speed that is necessary for you most likely one shotting or two shotting depending on the classic you are then you want to Stack as much exp because once you killing all the monsters you can't get any more experience the only way to do that is to increase the experience per monster now for people who've been paying attention you'll see that this is very similar to the order in which you level up your link skills and build your legion board and that's no coincidence all of these stats work again in the same way because of accessibility and because of how damage is calculated what you want to avoid is you want to not have these stats that are really close together in this list have one at level three and the other one at level nine there's something wrong at that point there's something that has to move and there's an imbalance so hopefully Distributing the stats in this way will allow you to not have that imbalance happen within your hyper stats if you do notice you have one either click a different preset or just completely reset it it's pretty cheap these days and help you take the value out of the hard work you've put into your character now when most of these top stats are Level 8 level 9 maybe level 10 this will happen pretty easily once you're around level 210 215 around there you'll have some leftover stats you can put those into where I have the leftover stated so into attack power magic attack a little bit into main Stat or what I think is a better idea is just hold on to them wait a little bit let them float and then when you get high enough level to put a to put an extra level into one of the stat priority stats then just push that one if you don't have the patience you can put them in the secondary stats but then what might happen is you keep leveling those up as well suddenly those get up to level eight level nine level ten and then you have to reset basically because then you have a lot of points going into attack and into stat and they're not very efficient there stat does not multiply with percentages and the attack is very low amount per level and it doesn't scale nearly as well as the priority stats do so I would avoid going above level five or six on there if you notice you're approaching those levels hold on to the points and just wait until enough hyper stat points become available and put one stat in the higher stat priorities so for the people who want we can do an example here just to break it down the whole way through so our example here is we have a level 210 Evan that wants to do bossing alright so we're looking at the blue numbers up there and we're going through the stats one at a time so first thing the ftfpp Mana Arcane power we and and dark game Power we don't need any of those we so we just keep our points 430 points and we just go to the next one I.E d That's necessary and we have a decent amount of points so I'm gonna instead of going to five and then going back up to again and then go to eight and then the nine and then to ten I'm just going to go straight up to eight because I know I have enough points right it's 85 points so we're going down to 345 then we get to crit rate I put as much as I need because I want to get to 100 so that all my critical damage applies but I only need one point so that's very easy one point Down Still 344 points left I got the critical damage same thing as the ID up to eight boss damage same thing damage percentage same thing and now we have 89 points left so now we want to start looking okay 89 points left um there's basically four things that I want to level maybe at this point that's IED critical damage damage to bosses and damage in that order now I obviously can't do all of them right because at this point it's 30 points per level so I can't do three either because I'm one crit down one thing you can already look at oh one extra point from crit would have actually given me an extra eight to level nine so one thing you could do is maybe get one crit somewhere move a legion piece um get one percent on a familiar you know something like that where there's another source of crit for that as well you can check exclamation mark critical rate or exclamation mark crit in my twitch chat with a list of all the sources and maybe you can find one percent crit somewhere that can help you do this now for this example We're Not Gonna cheat like that so we're just gonna take one point in IED start back from the top right now we're at 59. now the question is basically do we do another point in IED basically only leaving 24 points and having to put that into the leftover stats at this point I look at my ID I look at the progression grid and see how much IED I'm trying to get to I see that I'm on the low end and for that reason even with the familiar so for that reason I I'm going to put the ID to level 10. I decided to make that as a decision again this is kind of just guesswork on my part but there is not a whole bunch of options there's only either that one or you put it in critical damage or you put it in damage to bosses right it's just three options you could try all three do battle analyzes compare all of those but the thing is they'll all be really close so that General priority will help you just start from the top basically so at this point we have 24 points left over so HP we don't need that attack because that's only if it's main stat right attack power magic attack I cannot get to level five so I cut it to level 4 which leaves us with 9 points then main stat I can get it to level four so I get a level three which leaves us with two points which means I can put one point in secondary stat and luck and then we're left with one point now because we're left with one point I tried to look at some other options as well and I found this other option that's pretty close which instead of having three one one eight ten eight eight four uh instead going for one Higher on Boss damage and one lower in critical damage why you would want to do this if you have a very big Legion and you comparatively have more critical damage coming from your legion then maybe having the extra three percent boss damage might be better than one percent critical damage because the difference between you know two int and three int that's negligible at this point with everything that's going on in the character again this is flat amount doesn't get multiplied this is very very close right so this is another option again I think if I would do a ba or something I wouldn't even notice a difference I don't think however if you were in a situation where you're going up to level 13 or 14 you know in late game well end game basically you are at that point that's when you want to have a calculator do those Maths for you because it'll just be brain breaking if you try to figure that stuff out by yourself for people who want to approximate a little bit closer what the actual effect is with the critical damage versus the damage is you have a base damage of 100 then you add the boss damage and the normal monster damage to that that's your total damage percentage for your critical damage your base critical damage is 20 to 50 percent so 35 on average on critical hits you add your critical damage to that that's your total critical damage you know whatever is the percentage of One Versus the percentage of the other whichever is the the biggest relative percentage of how much you already have will increase your final damage by the most if you want to approximate it a little bit more closely not quite calculator level but also not quite I'm just going to click whatever and be done with hit Level so if you're in a more complicated situation you're in the late games of past 245 past 250 around 255 around that area where there's a lot of clicking going on maybe too much that you want to figure out you can use render maze calculator it's pretty good one point of information there is make sure that you get your critical rate to 100 by yourself again class differences May apply so make sure that you know how your class works and how you get your critical rate because I've had a lot of people be a little bit confused about this one but that critical rate isn't in there when it's so important this so This starts with base 100 critical rate so do that yourself which you know for my own method that I just gave you critical grade is very high up there and hopefully I explained thoroughly why it's so important and then if you're really getting into the end game 270 plus 275 to 80 and there's just so many stats and so many permutations and possible abilities the medical calculator has absolutely everything that you can put in it's a lot of work but it is worth it because like I said at that point it could give you the best setup for that specific scenario but you're not going to be leveling that much anymore you're not going to be making huge upgrades anymore right so it makes more sense to optimize it for that situation because that is going to be your situation for a long time so every stage of the game has its own ideal scenario where you want to deal with it right so early on you can just use my method for any character you'll always be really close to Optimal you'll be very flexible and you'll learn that way as well how stats work where they come from and see the more the differences between the classes as you play them then as you start slowing down your leveling you might just let a computer take over because it gets more complicated and then once you're really done leveling and you're at the hyper end game then you want to get all the possible value that you can get out of all the work you've put in your character and then you want to trust the computer that is programmed properly to just tell you how to do it why would we do it ourselves right when we can program a computer to do it better for us so yeah with all that I hope that you were able to move around your hyper stats a little bit if you guys are going to use this video it'd be really cool if you guys do some kind of Battle Analysis or whatever before you change your hyper stats based on the video and then maybe do it again after and tell me about the differences that you saw it would be cool to see that if you made some improvements based on that if you you want more in-depth and total account overview I have a series on YouTube where I talk to people and do coaching sessions one-on-one looking over their hyper stats is one of the major things that I do so maybe check that out if you're interested and as always thank you for watching the video and I hope it was helpful bye
