right alright so how I hook up the weight distribution hitch um one thing that somebody think it was James told me I keep my balls greased up helps with that squeaking and creaking noises you hear as you're going down the road so just a little dab of all pompous grease I keep a grease gun with me in the trailer on your trailer ball and then also on your to sway bar balls helps with the creaking and the streaking not don't need a lot just a little dab rub it all around and then I've got on the ball here and I'm going to do you can't see it from that side so I'm just coming around but I just stick add nothing major okay it's my first tip alright that's that okay wipe it off keep in mind that now you've got grease everywhere so watch what you're doing obviously the next thing you're going to do flick the trailer on the truck all the B's [Applause] [Music] over quite lined up first [Applause] all right now at this point I have all the way to the trailer on the truck I can lock it in place then I take my safety pin and make sure it's that's locked in because I'm not going to unhook this again so I'm doing this I'm hooking the trailer up so now it's hooked up here's where I've noticed that a lot of people have had trouble they don't take enough weight off of the truck to be able to put the sway bars or to be able to put the weight distribution bars in place the idea is to take the weight off of the rear axle of the vehicle and put weight on the front axle of the vehicle but you're talking about lots of weight here so what you want to do is right here with the jack of your trailer take as much weight off of it as you possibly can so I generally go up as high as my Jack of let me I wish I had a power jacket don't so I'm doing it by hand but now what times I can take all the weight off of the truck to the can like I'm taking the truck up when I do that [Applause] besides my jackal go yeah I'm gonna come around to the other side so that you can see this better run over here and we know that we're going to put our spring bar to our hole and snap it into place now I forgot to get my bar out but it's right here because I have taken is much weight off of the truck and the trailer as I can this will go very easily so I drop four links slide the link on the hook and literally with my thumb there's no weight there at all spin it up this slide is done now I got to go to the other side and do the same thing all right again putting the spring bar in the whole lid it belongs in make sure this light cotter pin out flop the hook down again I drop my four link slide it on there and again because I've taken all the weight off of the truck there's no tension there whatsoever okay Nana take the bar off at this point I'll lower the jack and now I'm loading the spring bars and putting all the weight on those chains [Applause] [Applause] I'm Jax all the way up now all the weight is on the chains just like you want it to be the last thing I have to do well that's the last thing one of the last things I have to do I'm going to hook up my sway control which is relatively easy take both the pins off I loosen it up to where it's nice and loose okay drop the front one on the ball put the pin on slide the back into place put the pin in and then I tighten it back up I get it to where it's tight and then I give it one more revolution there you go trailers all hooked up ready to go now obviously you got to hook your chains up and your electrical free of your lights and your brakes I haven't done that because I'm not actually pulling out the driveway today but the last thing I like to do is occasionally I'll put some some grease on my spring bars here at the hitch there are actually some zerk fittings that are right there there's a guard fitting there you got to find it and I just put some grease in there again this helps with these squeaking and the groaning like that when I gave you five pumps mine jerk Benton's are right here if you can see it or not you may be able to if not they're there but I usually put I don't do this every time that I hook the trailer up if there is one I unhook it's got grease on it and I go to hook back up and the grease is still good I don't necessarily grease it I just cleaned the grease off of these because it was the old grease from last season so usually at the beginning of each season I'll start fresh so I just cleaned it before I did this video so that's why I'm doing it now to show you so that being said it's pretty much it
