one of the big Investments that we made for this whole Adventure and building off grid and all that was a good power supply they call them solar generators but they're not really technically generators but they do hold a lot of power and it has solar panels that attach to it and we haven't tried that yet so today we're going to set up solar panels and set it in the sun and see how well that works that's kind of exciting [Music] [Music] you can't set the actual power pack in direct sunlight so we've thought that we put that on the picnic table and have the panels in the Sun so this is one of the solar panels we have two solar panels and yeah this is going to be cool it's a blue Eddie and it's the big powerful one you know it's one of those really good thingamajigs [Music] oh dog toy all right let's unfold these and here's a little pouch for the cord oh this is oh it's pretty long it's good [Music] it's got little stands on the back on Snap [Music] so you guys can see [Music] how these work [Music] nice little pouch awesome and they have degrees written down yeah so you unsnap the bottom of that that snap at the bottom and then depending which snap you attach it to oh sets the angle that's genius so I put the other one at 45 that second snap and there's three of them excellent go ahead and put that panel over here looks like this is the best Sun angle and then I believe we daisy chain them together hopefully the dogs won't come out and pee that's this of any kind or poetic very dog-like all right okay so now solar Amphitheater here now we hook them up one to the blue Eddie and the other to the other yes okay who needs the instructions who needs the instructions this is supposed to be easy peasy [Music] [Music] okay I'm gonna go get the instructions okay I'm gonna look for more equipment okay even though the manual was horrible it still makes sense yeah I just figured it out always learning you know so um the reason why we get two of these is this is designed to um connect in series what's called Series so the set of one two three four panel charger you have an eight panel charger and what happens is you take um the either the black ground from one and then the positive from the other and then connect them so you you just basically multiply them by two anyway uh that's what we found out that's why there is no extra junction box or what have you so we had to do a YouTube video because the manual to this thing really blows I don't understand why you get a great piece of equipment like this and they can't write a decent manual anyway that's a whole nother topic okay so this is the cable that hooks up from the solar panels to the blue Eddie unit and so basically you need one red going into the red and one black going into the black if you do it off of one panel and simple red to red black to Black so what we need is we're going to add the tube um sets of four together in series is one's negative okay and um we'll hook that up to our final output Into the Blue Eddie unit and we'll just go into the negative to that so this is in charge of negative on the outside and then the positive will be the positive from the other set of panels so now all we have left are the red cable from that one and yep you guessed it the black cable from this one so now we hook them up and this is what I guess they call daisy chaining and now we have a series circuit okay because it's connected here we got positive and the negative from both sides excellent and so this will be great we'll see how fast it'll charge up the blue Eddie those is this is the only possible input and it already clicked on yep so a like the display said once you plug in a charging Source then it'll automatically illuminate and show you it's charging but it's kind of blinking oh because I'm standing in the way look I'm standing in front of the charger so it's going get out of the way so we can charge okay let me move out of the way yeah started going up right away okay this will be very interesting we've only charged it a couple times by plugging it into regular electricity so it'll be interesting to see how long it takes with this good strong sunlight to charge it all the way up all right so that's our little how-to segment for other people who have a blue Eddie and can't figure out the manual well done Jack day [Music]
