[Applause] [Music] hello everyone I'm Joshua Clement and today I'm going to talk to about how to make your window air conditioner drain a little bit better what happens is there's a lot of condensation that builds up as the air conditioners running and it runs down to the drain pan and a lot of times the holes end up getting clogged up with a lot of dust and debris for this job we'll be using a drill with a small bit what we have here is the back side of a window air conditioner and as you can see the water has been running over the drain pan in the back on both corners so what we're going to do is take our drill bit and poke a small hole right through the corner we got to be careful because there's copper tubing on the inside and we want to make sure that we absolutely do not even touch that with our drill bit so we'll take our drill bit check see where our copper is and go ahead and pop a hole through there adding this little hole to the bottom will allow more water to flow through the water tray and since it's a little bit bigger hole it'll keep it from getting clogged as easy it's very important that you're careful with this job hitting one of those lines could cause it to leak freon into the house might be best to try to do this outside that way if it does puncture a line it's in the open air and you can get upwind of it thank you all for watching and good luck with this project [Applause] [Music] you [Music]
